We completed a pre-purchase inspection for Mr*** on a modified *** *** pickup truck in February of According to Mr***, he purchased the truck and in May had a problem with the engineI contacted our agent and asked for his response to the Revdex.com complaintHis response
follows:I am sorry to hear Mr*** is unhappy about his acquisitionHe did call me when it happened and I explained to him that there is no guarantee when you purchase an old vehicleAs stated in my report l was very impressed with the truck at the time I did the appraisalWhatever happened over the next months to cause the problem can't imagineThe test drive was as reportedIt started right up in the showroom and we took it up or on the highway, tried the brakes on the access road on the way back and everything was fineThe engine ran very wellIt's impossible to tell if anything was done to it because there was no restoration documentationThe pictures were taken after the test drive and it's quite apparent there were no leaks underside or in the engine compartment.As.far as the emergency brake, it's not required in Texas so some of the resto rods just leave it offAs I said in my report, this is one of the nicest '60s C1O pickups I have seen.What happened to it over the next months only Mr*** knowsIt is unfortunate that this happened but as we tell our clients, old cars are like old people, what works this week may not work next weekOur inspection documents the vehicle condition at the time of our inspectionTerry reported what he saw and experienced

As I stated in my original complaint, I am aware that I have no recourse in this situationI don't expect to get any compensation for their incompetence, but I am only interested in protecting the next guyTheir reply to you was as I expected, "Gee, it was okay when I drove it"Textbook answerTheir response of whatever happened in the next months only I know was a copoutI only put miles on it in that time and whether that came in months or days, it was still only milesAnd everyone I let drive it in that time knew it was altered for racing by the sound of the motorIf AAG can't tell that they shouldn't be in businessAnd as far as the brakes being "fine", if they were okay then why did I almost hit my house when I first pulled it in the driveway? The racing cam the mechanic said was in it doesn't supply enough vacuum to the power boosterAnyway, hopefully the next person who considers using AAG will check your files and see what I went throughI checked before I signed with them and you had no complaintsI wish there was one, as I find it hard to believe that I am the first unhappy client whose inspection was bungled

We completed an appraisal for bank loan value for Mr. [redacted] on a [redacted]. After receiving the appraisal, he called the office on Wednesday the 29th stating that the value was not high enough to meet his needs and demanding to speak with the appraiser immediately. Our customer...

service rep tried to tell him that he could schedule a phone call with the company owner but that he was going to be out of the office during most of the next few days. Mr. [redacted] was rude and belittled our customer service rep telling him we didn't know what we were doing and that "he probably drove a [redacted]" among other condescending remarks to which our customer service rep replied, "you are doing your best to insult me but I don't care and would like to try to help you anyway". Mr. [redacted] had submitted an application to become an agent with our company at the time that he requested an appraisal for us. We had already scheduled a phone call between Mr. [redacted] and our company president for Tuesday morning. When our customer service rep tried to reference the previously schedule phone call in order to allow them to review both items at that time, Mr. [redacted] denied submitting the application, claimed his computer was hacked and hung up on our employee. Mr. [redacted] later emailed customer service and stated that he did want to schedule a time to talk with the owner about the appraisal. We scheduled that for Tuesday afternoon and cancelled the Tuesday morning appointment. When the client and our owner spoke, the client expressed his concerns with the appraised value and our appraiser explained our procedure. We can only place a value on the vehicle based on its condition and that a bank loan value is not the fair market value or resale value. Buyers are typically required to put a down payment on the vehicle to protect the bank's interest in case of default. The client had indicated to us that the asking price was $[redacted] but our research and discussions revealed it was much less and it appeared that the client was trying to borrow more money on the car than it was worth. At no time did we reference Mr. [redacted] religion and his claim is another example of his attempt to manipulate the situation to control the outcome. Sincerely, ~~ Rebecca B[redacted], CAGA Business Manager
