Auto Bahn Garage

I had been taking my vehicles since early 2018 to the AutoBahn Garage and the work seemed to be done fine; that was until the last work was done for for an air blower on my 2001 S500 Benz. On July 5th the work was done and we picked up our vehicle after been at the shop for a couple of weeks. My 18yr son was the driver of this vehicle and two days after he picked it up the ac blower stopped working again. After driving around several hours he was able to put ac back on and it worked fine. There was also a funny smell when he would turn on AC but figured it was because of the new part. On July 17th my husband was concerned about the AC not functioning correctly and wanted to drive it to the shop first thing on the morning of July 18th but my son insisted for it to be done later since that date was his Father's Bday. Unfortunately on the afternoon of July 18th the car caught fire and we were unable to take it back to the shop. My husband went that same day to AutoBahn to informed them of what had just happen. My husband knows this is a family owned business and he saw them as nice people so assumed we could work something out and that they would be willing to help. I paid $1284.06 for this last invoice and I paid with a credit card so technically I'm still paying for the work. I also reported to my insurance but my car is not worth their fire investigation according to them. I reached out to the company for a negotiation, we showed them pictures of the damage, it was mostly on the side of AC unit, I asked for the money back for the invoice as well as reimbursement for the rental car I had to drive for a few weeks. The Owner's wife stated she would call me back that Monday with an answer, but she never did. My son and his girlfriend could have lost their lives, I'm appreciative that they're alive today but at the same time this could happen to another client if no consequences are given. My husband had previously acknowledged this company as good people, but after their lack of consideration; (even though we had taken our vehicles to them that same year investing into that company) has proven otherwise. On this vehicle that caught fire I have paid out to them and additional
$1,913.58, a total of $3,197.63.
