Good day gentlemen! Thank you so much for your quick response. I"ve attached the DPOA for my dad, *** ** ***. I also called the "Auto Care Specialists" garage prior to filing this complaint and I have to say this man was not patient at all. He said that he offered
my father a rental car and food. My father is elderly and quite honestly I do not believe this as my father was quite weary during this process as we spoke to him on the phone. My brother and I tried to rectify the situation and the man got (without exaggeration) violently angry and we both felt that his delay in attending to our father's needs was to spite us as we were helpless to help our father at the date and time this happened
I've attached the Durable Power of Attorney for Financial Mangement. Please let me know if you should have need for anything further

CUSTOMER CAME IN AND STATED THAT THE MILEAGE WAS ENTERED INCORRECTLY WHEN PREVIOUS SMOG CHECK WAS DONEMILEAGE WAS CHECKED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE MILEAGE WAS DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUSLY ENTERED.
I EXPLAINED THAT MOST VEHICLES ESPECIALLY EUROPEAN MADE VEHICLES HAVE A PUSH BUTTON TO
SWITCH FROM TRIP METER TO MILEAGE READING, IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE CHANGED FROM MILEAGE TO KILOMETERS THE USER MUST MANUALLY CHANGE IT IN THEIR INFORMATION CENTER SETTINGS WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT THE OWNER/DRIVER DOES. I ALSO ADVISED HIM THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY BROUGHT IN BY HIM WITH KILOMETERS SET AND NOT MILES AND THIS WAS THE INFORMATION DOCUMENTED WHEN VEHICLE WAS CHECKED IN
I WENT AS FAR AS TO PULL UP A CONVERSION CHART ONLINE FROM KILOMETERS TO MILES AND FROM MILES TO KILOMETERS AND VERIFIED THAT THIS WAS THE CASEI SHOWED THE CUSTOMER THAT THE MILEAGE MATCHES IF CONVERTED
CUSTOMER INSISTED THAT WE CORRECT THE PROBLEM SO HE COULD SELL THE VEHICLEI APOLOGIZED FOR HIS TROUBLE AND TRIED TO OFFER SUGGESTIONS THAT MAY HELP HIM CORRECT THE ISSUE AT HANDI ADVISED THE CUSTOMER TO EXPLAIN TO DMV REP ABOUT THE MILEAGE TO KILOMETER CHANGE AND TO HAVE THEM ALSO VERIFY THE MILEAGE AGAINST KILOMETER READING TO CONFIRM THAT THIS WAS WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY MAY BE ABLE TO ADJUST IT ON THEIR END SINCE THERE IS NO WAY TO CORRECT IT IN OUR SMOG MACHINE OR SOFTWARE SYSTEM

[redacted] has been our customer since 2003, We have always delivered an A+ service to him all these years as he himself can explain.
Mr. [redacted] had come in on 3/7/2014 because he had taken his van to a Star station and failed. He asked us to diagnose his 1994 Toyota Previa that had previously failed at the smog station and another repair sho**  Once diagnosis was completed and customer advised of repairs needed, he authorized the repairs.  At this time we offered him a ride home or free loaner as we had in the past 11 years of patronage. 
 
He stated that he liked to spend some time here in the show room since there is no one at home and he gets bored and lonely. He said that he would like to be around some people for a while.  We took care of him like a guest and provided him with comfort, water, coffee and after while asked if he was hungry. We had one of our employees go out and purchase Mr. [redacted] some lunch , Once we knew what repairs were needed and availability of parts and time of arrival  we provided Mr. [redacted] with a free loaner car. 
 
After the repair was completed his van finally passed the emissions with very low numbers on gases. His vehicle was repaired at a fraction of the cost to do the repairs needed, mostly due to his loyalty as a long time customer and secondly due to him not being able to afford the cost of this repair. In addition to the emissions related repairs additional repairs were performed as a courtesy in an effort to help him out and keep his car running and safe to drive.  Mr. [redacted] asked that we allow him to give us a partial payment on the repair with a promise to pay the remaining balance of $120.37 in April 2014, as of today we have yet to receive payment on this balance.  The Diagnostic and repair was done at a deeply discounted rate, and asking for a refund because their dad chose to wait in our show room is not only insulting but down right funny.
