This company was called by the *** police after I had an accident on 10/18/19 to tow my truck to Carstar Eastern Hill LLC on Transit Road. I tried to pay for tow at that time, but was told by tow truck driver that they would be paid by company receiving the truck on Saturday. I called the receiving company on Monday, 10/21/19 and got the estimate. My truck was not there and I was given a charge of $879.69 for towing charge. When I spoke with representative at United about this charge I was told that my truck was kept on their lot until late Monday, ":because there was no one at Carstar on Saturday that could cut a check to us". So my truck was accruing storage charges at their place that I knew nothing about. Also questioned what I felt was price gouging on this bill, and this representative said "I wasn't the one towing the truck, but we don't price gouge". My phone number was available to this company, and I should have been notified that United had chosen not to deliver my truck to the collision company. Also was told since it's an all wheel vehicle, "that's more to tow". He had an answer for all the, I feel, trumped up charges on this bill. I never would have guessed that a tow would be @879.69 that my insurance company will have to pay, and I'll be responsible for in the end

Good Morning, I reviewed the Tow invoice in Question, if you review the invoice, the customers vehicle was requested to be towed by *** Police on Saturday October 19, 2019, and brought back to our facility which is the impound yard for *** Police. On October 24, 2019 the customers vehicle was towed from Impound yard to Carstar per customers request. On October 24, 2019 upon releasing customers vehicle we should have collected 6 days of storage at $45.00 a day equaling $270.00 for storage alone. We discounted the customers bill by 5 storage days -225.00, only charging 1 day at 45.00. Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist with. Thank you

Had my car repaired after a car accident. Was told that my the vehicle work was complete. My wife left work early to pick the vehicle up, as she brushed the snow off the car, the front Nissan emblem fell off. The associate told her he would order a new part but the vehicle was fine to drive. As she pulled on to Sheridan Dr. she notice the the electrical box cover was laying on the seat and the turn signals did not work. She took the car back to the shop and the associate stated they would call her when the car is repaired. The next day we get a call stating the car was fixed. My wife picked the car up after hours, she drove roughly 6 miles and the car windows started to ice over, the car wouldn't heat up and started to shake. This all happened during a winter storm and driving on the thruway with a child in the car. My wife was able to exit the thruway and pulled into a gas station. We had the car towed out of our own expense and left a message for the shop not to touch the vehicle until we speak with management the next morning. The manager apologized and offered to return our $500 deductible and had the vehicle towed to another collision shop to do a look over on the vehicle and find out what happened. A few days later we got a call saying the car was complete and the new collision shop stated that the issue was a hose clamp on the radiator was not secured properly and fell off. Auto collision and glass paid for the service. We had no further issues at this time. We were told by management that he will need to check with account payable to determine whether we can pick the check for the deductible or have it mailed.

After 3 weeks of waiting, I called to follow up. After 2 weeks of leaving messages for management to call me, I finally got a hold of the manager who then told me that the owner refused to return our deductible and apologized. I told the manager that this was unacceptable and that this reimbursement was offered and its what I expect. The shop placed my wife in a vehicle that was not completely checked over not once but twice which could of lead to serious injury. We also spent a numerous amount of hours wasted dealing with this shops incompetence. Management eventually offered to reimbursement for the tow charge(which they eventually did) and offered $150 in a professional detail. I declined, I told he manager that I would never trust my vehicle with this company and I want what was offered to me by them.

ID: 13447976
The
***'s picked up their vehicle on 01-25-2019 after normal business
hours. It appears that after they picked
their vehicle the lower radiator hose clamp malfunctioned and came off. This
caused the coolant in the vehicle to leak out causing the concerns that they
listed on their complaint.Mr. came in the next morning and went over his
concerns with us, we did apologized for his inconvenience at that point in time.
Mr. requested/ demanded that we
not touch his vehicle as he wanted his
dealer to check out the vehicle to see what the concerns were, and to look over
the repairs. We honored his request and had his vehicle towed to *** the dealer he choose ( At our Expense) . They diagnosed the vehicle as the lower radiator clamp came
off causing the coolant to leak out of the vehicle. They performed the
corrective repairs and Auto Collision and Glass covered the cost of the
corrective repairs. We also refunded the cost of the tow that he had arranged to
have the vehicle towed back to our shop after the breakdown occurred. We do regret that this unfortunate chain of events happened
to the ***'s and we're truly sorry
that their vehicle broke down on them. We did honored his request/ demand , had the vehicle taken to a dealer of
his choice to have a second opinion and paid for the tow and the corrective
repairs. It's not Auto Collision and Glass practice to save / refund
customers deductibles. We did offer him a complementary vehicle detail or a free
*** on his vehicle for his inconvenience.

Good Morning,

My apologies, Mr. only came to us with a loose hose clamp issue- which we did not deny- we offered to fix ourselves but he did not want us to touch so we paid for it to be repaired by ***- per his choice, along with payment for the tow bill. If there are any other concerns with the repairs completed on Mr.’s vehicle he has not brought those to our attention, we would be happy to address with him. If he does not want to deal with us directly, he may contact his insurance company as well.

In regards to the 500.00 deductible, - The customer has a contractual agreement between themselves and the insurance company to pay the shop 500.00 for the repairs completed to the vehicle. The agreement does not state the 500.00 deductible will be given back to the customer if they are not happy with us. The customer came to us with an issue, we resolved the issue. At that same time Mr *** was very upset and asked for his 500.00 deductible to be returned to him- our manager handling the situation calmly stated he would look into the repair issue for him, which he did and he resolved the matter. He did not state a 500.00 deductible refund would be given to him.

Thank you

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Juanita, both incidents are clearly in my original statement. I appreciate you chiming in but unfortunately you need to research this matter. I did not ask for my deductible, it was offered by your store manager. Since I never spoken with you, I would be glad to speak with you if you care to call. Its not the deductible I am upset about, its how I was misled by this management team. Twice they placed my family and others on the road in risk of serious injury only because they did not test drive the vehicle. The first time if the vehicle was test driven then the driver would of notice that the blinkers did not work. The second time, radiator clamp fell off when driven only a short distance. We spent numerous amount of hours wasted dealing with this all because the vehicle was not fixed right the first time. I appreciate the complimentary service that was offered but in all honesty why would I want service done by this company after the experience I had? Plus the aggravation I had with your management team not responding back to my messages, emails and being placed on hold for an extended period of time until I finally got with the manager that states that the owner won't return my deductible but he really tried and went to "bat" for us. We did not request this, again it was offered by this same manager.

My car was repaired over a year ago. A part that they fixed was coming off, they repaired it but then the part was still coming off. They now refuse to fix this part again because of damage that was on the car before but not repaired by them at the time of the original car accident. They failed to repair what was necessary and are now refusing to repair a part that is still broken.

Took my *** SUV to get repairs done by this place last summer. Driver door rubs against left front fender. Chrome fog light reflector is gone. one day it was there the next it was gone. [must not have fastened it in correctly.] Didn't replace clips on front grill to keep it in place. With all this, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and another chance to prove to me wrong about what I was thinking, about them. About one year later I needed other repairs done. So I gave them the chance to prove to me they were a reputable company. I was hit in the right rear quarter panel , while waiting for a parking spot. I thought about it, and decided to let them prove to me that , that was a one time happening. That they assured me it wouldn't happen again. So I did. "BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! To make it short..it sounds like a wind tunnel in there. The truck now leans to the left because, the spare tire that is to go "UNDER" the truck is now in the back of my truck inside. Its inside there because they said..." the years and salt rusted it away. but they had to cut it off. "Why the" HELL" did u have to cut it off if the salt over the years rusted it off. It didn't make any sense to me. They had to remove it when they had to replace the stabilizer bar. They got the OK from *** to do it. They broke it when replacing it. Because the TIRE and the CABLE would NOT go back up . The cable and tire just hung and knocked against my gas tank. They Said" the only way to fix it was to cut it off. I want it repaired!!! Weather you pay for it or ***. I wanted it fixed. They said there is nothing more that they could do about it if I didn't pay for it. I told them I was contacting The Revdex.com. They said good luck. I left.

Thank You for your Time.

I have spoken with *** and *** has agreed to replace her spare tire Winch as part of the loss. I apologized to her for any inconvenience caused by the original denial from the insurance carrier. She will check her sons schedule and call me to make an appointment to have the part installed. I ordered the part today from *** and it is a couple days away. Her son can wait as we install the part as it will take roughly 1.5 hours as long as everything goes as planned. Thank You, Rick Greenawalt Owner Auto Collision & Glass
