Auto Connection of Vance County, Inc. Reviews (2)

Purchased Vehicle March of 2014. 2 weeks later the left wheel caught on fire. Almost crashed the vehicle. I reported the issue, received poor customer service. Was stranded on the side of the road with my 8 month old son....Long story short they did not come pick up the truck. I called for help. my cousin came to pick up my son and my mom. I moved the vehicle to safety. Truck was repaired 2 and a half weeks later. I was charged to get the truck fixed. Less than a month later I was experiencing similar problems again.....and again.....and again. The truck was never repaired. I was promised that I would get this situation resolved. My truck was in the shop more than I had it in my own possession. I was forced to make payments without knowing if my truck would ever get fixed. I received poor communication throughout the entire process. I have had several different mechanical issues since. All types of front end trouble, started trouble, and recently engine trouble. Never received any calls for any of these issues. I always had to "run them down". I have not received a call since the last issue a month ago. I am tired. I have lost a lot behind this issue. It has prevented me from many opportunities, and has been very stressful. I have put a lot of money into this vehicle behind their promises to fix the truck.Product_Or_Service: [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like to get my money back that I have placed into this situation. I am a business owner myself and I know this is not how business should be conducted to a customer. They will not let me speak with the owner. I need a refund or I want another vehicle of my choice,of equal value and we can call it even. If not I will take the case to court under a lawsuit for a refund and pain and suffering. (The lemon Law)Business Response Note: To avoid releasing personal info,no names will be listed in our response.Customer purchased a [redacted] on 2/17/2014 with 149,104 miles. At this time a service contract was also purchased covering the vehicle for an additional 7500 miles or 180 days (whichever came first) with most major components covered.(a copy of customer's service contract is available upon request) Over the course of the contract period customer only ever paid one deductible towards any covered repairs. We have no records of customer paying anything on repairs other than said deductible of $150.00. Which is clearly a requirement stated in customer's service contract. This [redacted] was repossessed on 12/12/2014 for nonpayment and cancellation of full coverage insurance. Our recovery worksheet at time of repossession charts vehicle having 159,097 miles. This would be 9,993 miles added to this vehicle in roughly 10 months. Obviously, customer was able to drive the vehicle during the course of ownership. Someone can always be reached at our offices Monday thru Fridays, 8am to 5pm in our service center and 8:30am to 5:30pm in our payments and sales office. Auto Connection strives to make all customers happy; it is unfortunate that this customer was unsatisfied with their purchase.

My truck messed up two weeks after I got it and every two months after that.February 2014 I went and got a [redacted]. 14 days later it cut off on me. The place picked it up kept it 2 weeks. When I go to it, my payment amount changed and my payment date changed. Not even two months later the VSC and check engine light comes on. I go drop it off and my friend gets the owner to call me. Well he tells me the problem is fixed and if I had any more problems with the truck to call his cell phone and he would work something out. I get the truck back and two months later the VSC and check engine light back on. I take it back to the shop they charged me. OK so I get it back and about a month later the same two lights came on I called them and told them the truck had been nothing but a big headache to me and that I was tired of the truck and no I didn't take it back. I felt like they sure was running game on me and kept unplugging the battery. Well sure enough I had somebody unplug my battery and a few weeks later the same two lights came on. So I drive it up until Christmas before the Vehicle Skidded Control (VSC) check engine light and the traction control light comes on. My brakes was locking up and I couldn't drive over 5 miles without the brakes locking up. Well I get it to the shop and they say something about the rack cracked and they want charging me for it but now my payment amount for the 3rd time has increased. How is that if I'm not being charged. So I pay again to get my truck out and before I could get out the parking lot I calls them to tell them I don't have lights. They said bring it back the next day. Well I get charged for the lights I get upset and tells them they only make more problems and that in a month I know my same lights would be back on because I didn't think they fixed the problem. As of yesterday(2/18/15) the same two lights are back on and I called the dealer shop to let them know and no I'm not taking it to them.Desired SettlementI would like for them to switch out vehicles with me. Its not fair to me for the trouble they have cause me and to decrease my payment back how can I ever pay for it if it keeps increasing. Please help me. Thanks in advance.Business Response Customer purchased this vehicle on 2/20/2014 with mileage of 227959. At that time a service contract was purchased with limited coverage & time. A copy of the contract can be provided upon request. The check engine light is only covered for the 1st 14 calendar days after purchase with a deductible of $150. During customer's service contract period the only amount paid towards this vehicle in our shop for repairs was $70. After that the only additional invoices our shop shows have a total of $479.25. Our company offers refinancing options on repair issues when customers can not afford repair expenses in some cases. That is why customer's payment would have went up. Which we would like to note...payment only has increased by $10 and customer signed a new note acknowledging changes. Had customer actually paid for repairs no adjustments would have been made to customer's account. Our last invoice is dated 1/22/2015 for bulbs. YES..BULBS...FOR A TOTAL OF $10. Also at this time we recorded a current mileage of 241500. That would be roughly around 13,500 miles put on this vehicle in less than a year. Obviously, customer is operating vehicle successfully. As for paying for repairs...it is a used vehicle and customer has no remaining service contract or warranty. All repairs would be customer's responsibility...even the bulbs. We would be glad to take a look at any repair issues customer might have. If it is a defective part on a repair that we completed we will stand by our work. The only two parts that currently have a part warranty for this vehicle in our shop would be (1) Oxygen sensor and Rack & Pinion. Consumer Response this company is full of it and I wouldn't recommend no one to them. I hate that I was referred to them they charged me for BULBS that were out the same day I picked my truck up. They only fix one problem to create another problem. On the 14 day the truck went into the shop for 2 weeks. I will never purchase another vehicle from them and I recommend that no one else should they are full of it.Final Business Response AGAIN...if one of the parts that our repair facility replaced is defective, we will replace as per our original response. The bulbs were replaced on 1/22/2015 almost a year after purchase date of 2/20/2014. We still feel customer has gotten good service out of said vehicle..considering mileage difference since purchase. Repair/Maintenance issues should be expected with any used vehicles. We wish we could guarantee that no repair issues would ever arise, however that is just an unrealistic expectation for any vehicle purchase new or used at any dealership.
