Auto Fair, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: Took my vehicle, that I had purchased from Auto Fair in mid-July 2013, to be serviced for an engine light in September. I was told it was just the oxygen sensors, which were replaced with them a total of 3 times over the course of about a month.(I never was billed because it was "under warranty") I left the vehicle for almost a week with them for their service team to try to figure it out. To no avail I was called an told it was something else wrong and I would have to pay for the it, because now its not covered. After heated word exchanges, I picked my vehicle up, with the engine light still on. My complaint, Auto Fair Inc never fixed the car initially, dragging it along, then screaming not responsible. Not to include they charged me $500.00 over the listed price. The car was on sale, then they charged me the regular price. Claimed that was the only way to get me approved. Some hidden charges they had to cover. Car came with a lifetime powertrain warranty that I am now very suspicious about. Have not had a good experience with this company at all. They are A SCAM!!!Desired Settlement: Fixed, replaced, or refunded

[redacted] purchased this vehicle on july 10th 2013, it came with our 60 day/3000 mile warranty and we did include a "life time powertrain warranty" which is back by protective life insurance co. this warranty covers motor and transmission failures only, which she was told. the first notification of her check engine lite issue to us was on september 16th and the vehicle was brought in to us on the 17th. according to the diag of the cars computer system it needed an oxegen sensor, which we replaced, however the light was not changing, we proceeded to try different brands of sensors including the manufactures own brand, trying to solve her issue. we finally went to the dealer for dodge and was told the computer may need replacing, we then asked ms. Emery to discuss paying, in part for any further repairs since her warranty with us had expired, both in time and mileage before she ever notified us of any issue,. she exploded in a rage, and left with her vehicle, I tried to reason with her but she said" I will deal with this in other ways". In closing,we worked hard to recitify this issue and not charge her fior any of it up to that point, even though we were not obligated to, even gave her a rental vehicle at no charge to her

I am rejecting this response because: Although I did bring the vehicle in September., I did pay$1165.00 for a vehicle warranty that was for 24 months or 24,000 miles. When I recieved the call on 10/17/2013 concerning their inability to figure out what was wrong and at this point they wanted me to pay for anything further because they claimed I had no warranty. At that point I told there service department I would not argue I would just pick up my car. At that point Auto Fair had been tinkering with my vehicle off an on for a month. I went in to pick up my car and was told there were papers I was suddenly supposed to sign. After reading both I signed the paper fir the reciept for gas that I was told they needed to put in the car. The other paper was a repair or claim of repairvthey werent charging me for, but came with a disclaimer. I refused to sign that an the owner became quite nasty. Snatching papers and at one point told me he was not turning over my vehicle . I kindly told him I was calling the police and would not engage further with him and walked out. He ran up behind me and handed ne my keys and told me to leave. There was never mention of partial payment or deductible, just pay

Sincerely,

Response:

I tried to discuss the situation with Ms. [redacted], when she can in, but was told, by her, that she did not want to talk about it, but would handle it another way. She never handed in or told the service advisor that she actually had an extended warranty ! , which may very well cover her repair. No papers were pulled out of her hand at any time, and she had to sign the r.o. to prove she recieved a copy . I would be glad to try and help her solve her issues if she would only sit down with me and discuss the matter rationally.
