2016, renewing November 13, 2016. Ms. W[redacted] has called us several times regarding a premium increase on her renewal policy. As we have explained to her, the renewal increase is due to the following factors: The Defensive Driver Discount was removed. After calling Mercury, this discount was       restored. The Auto Pay Discount and E-Signature Discounts were removed. These discounts only apply to the first term of the policy. Mercury had a rate increase that affected all of their New York customers, including Ms. W[redacted].
Mercury Insurance has the authority to rate their customers based on their rates filed with the New York Department of Financial Services. The renewal is an offer, and Ms. W[redacted] may choose to accept the offer or purchase insurance elsewhere. In either case, AIS cannot be responsible. We must therefore respectfully deny her request.

Review: I sold my Toyota Camry back in 11/9/2011. Since that time I have contacted AIS on multiple occasions to resolve this. I have on several occasions requested that a manager call me back, and I never get a call. Several days after selling the car I contacted AIS and informed them that I had sold the car. Since I did not have any accidents or issues, I had no reason to contact them so it was about 8 months later that I contacted AIS. They stated that they did not have any record of my call. They told they could only change the date as of that date and could not back date it. They stated that I needed to go to DMV and get proof of when I sold the car. I have gone to DMV on two occasions and two different offices. They stated they were not authorized to give me that information since I no longer owned that car. They could only give me that is was transferred first week in November. I shared that I had a signed statement from the buyer, but because it was not on the official form it would not be accepted. I also went to AAA DMV and on multiple occasions requested the info. Again since I was not the owner of the car, they could provide no information. As mentioned I have called them multiple times on this. I have requested a manager call me back since they are not available. I get no response. I requested that they obtain the information since they have a right to see if the car they are insuring is still owned by me. Again they were unwilling to help or facilitate this. They only thing they would do was do it effective as of that day, which would leave no recourse to recoup the past premiums paid because of their error, and which means I have paid for insurance that I did not need and could not use for over 2 years. At this point I dont know what to do to resolve this issue.AIS is the Agent for Mercury insurance. I called Mercury on this as well on one occasion and they stated that I needed to go through my agent. When I purchased a new vehicle I called and had to put it into their system over 5 times before I was finally able to get someone to fax me a copy that my new vehicle was now insured. Of course again they would not backdate it for when the first time I entered it in. Since I had no claims this was not an issue. I find their lack of support and professionalism completely lacking.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the full settelment of insurance paid on the car since it was sold to present returned to me.
