Review: I brought my 1999 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4L V6 to their shop. I signed an invoice stating my bill would be $438 to replace both of the power steering hose's. They told me it would be done the following business day before noon (12pm). I called the shop at 12:40pm the next day after not hearing anything back from them requesting an update on the status of my car. The man told me they have already taken off the hoses, which should have been easy considering I unattached them prier to bringing my car to their shop. I just could not lift my car to get the hoses loose due to not having a jack or a jack stand. The man then told me they have not even put the new hoses on and they are charging me over what I signed to pay. I Bought a NAPA auto part which is where this shop gets their parts from and had them delivered to the shop. All I was told I was going to have to pay for was labor and he gave me a new price of $200-$250. The shop did NOT tell me anything else was wrong with the car, nor did I want them to touch anything else on the car. The shop told me my car would be done around noon the following business day. I had to call them at 12:40 because I have not heard anything from the shop. The man than told me that they have not yet been able to put the new hoses on and they are trying to re connect steel hoses that I already new were off because I took them off. He then told me that it is coming up to labor time. I was not told of anything going on with my car and now they have not done what I paid them to replace. To top it all off it is not 1:55pm and I have still not heard anything back. I told the guy to leave the steel cables or just reconnect them and put some sealent on it and it would be fine. I still have not heard back from them!Desired Settlement: I have worked in auto shops for several years and I have been told it's policy to contact the customer when you end up having a problem with the customers vehicle. If a customer comes in for a flat tire repair, gets told and signs for the flat tire repair and the price of it, the customer is expecting to pay that certain price for that certain repair unless notified. If I were to put a new tire on this customers vehicle without telling her and she can't pay for it and I am unable to put the part back in place prior to service, than I should have to eat the cost of the new tire and the customer should still have to pay for what she signed for because she was not notified of any problems other than what they were planning on paying to get fixed.

[redacted],This in response to the letter I received from you.The car was towed to have the rubber power steering hoses replace. The ridged power steering lines had been disconnected by the customer. In doing so he bent the lines. He was called and advised we would have to remove them to straighten them because they would not reach the fittings. At that time he was told there would be additional charges for this. He was told it would be about 2 hrs. He agreed. When he came to up car he was only charged an hour. After receipt of this letter is was discovered that this person had applied for a job at Cheney Auto Care Center. He was not even considered for the position due to his lack of mechanical ability and the poor grammar used in his resume. We believe that his complaint stems for this rejection[redacted]Owner
