I answered an ad on Craigslist for one of their cars, an blue Elantra for $with 115k miles I called at 8:p.mon Dec8th and asked if it was still for sale and he said it wasHe then texted me the address, [redacted] I told him I would be there first thing in the morning when they opened at 9:a.m In the meantime, I found the car vin number on their website, [redacted] and spent money on a preliminary car fax check The next morning, my husband an I arrived at 8:a.mto be greeted by an employee who said the owner was on his way from Sanford and it would be a whileIt was a body shop and there were cars out front listed for saleI told the employee that we would grab a bite to eat and come back 9:a.mWe arrived back and was greeted by the employee with temporary tag in hand and directed to an Elantra, an older model with higher mileage of 158kI relayed that this it wasn't the car advertised on craigslist, that it was an blue Elantra with 114k milesThe employed got the owner on the phone who told me the car was sold at 9:last nightI knew then I was scammedWhy would anyone sell a car at 9:p.mand just an hour before he said it was for saleClearly this is a bait and switchNot only did we waste our time driving minutes back and forth in heavy traffic to their place of business, but we wasted $on a carfax history check on a vehicle that was not for sale nor at their place of business I checked their web site and the vehicle is still listed for sale here: [redacted] and the advertisement of the car is still listed for sale on Craigslist

I answered an ad on Craigslist for one of their cars, an 05 blue Elantra for $1300.00 with 115k miles. I called at 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 8th and asked if it was still for sale and he said it was. He then texted me the address,[redacted] I told him I would be there first thing in the morning when they opened at 9:00 a.m.

In the meantime, I found the car vin number on their website, [redacted] and spent money on a preliminary car fax check.

The next morning, my husband an I arrived at 8:55 a.m. to be greeted by an employee who said the owner was on his way from Sanford and it would be a while. It was a body shop and there were cars out front listed for sale. I told the employee that we would grab a bite to eat and come back.

9:45 a.m. We arrived back and was greeted by the employee with temporary tag in hand and directed to an 03 Elantra, an older model with higher mileage of 158k. I relayed that this it wasn't the car advertised on craigslist, that it was an 05 blue Elantra with 114k miles. The employed got the owner on the phone who told me the car was sold at 9:30 last night. I knew then I was scammed. Why would anyone sell a car at 9:30 p.m. and just an hour before he said it was for sale. Clearly this is a bait and switch. Not only did we waste our time driving 40 minutes back and forth in heavy traffic to their place of business, but we wasted $50. on a carfax history check on a vehicle that was not for sale nor at their place of business.

I checked their web site and the vehicle is still listed for sale here: [redacted] and the advertisement of the car is still listed for sale on Craigslist.
