Auto Plaza Ford Reviews (%countItem)

Found a great car to purchase after mine wasn’t reliable enough for my job any more. Sadly these people are the ones who had it. Got a fair deal on the car and trade in, but it was all down hill from there. They failed to do any of the items agreed upon in the “we owe” that was negotiated before purchase, and when I attempted to contact them in the following days I was ignored. I finally went up again to speak to a manager and by the end of it I felt better: they did the work on my car they said they would and gave me a rental. Weeks go by and I still have not received my title, so I take the initiative and contact them for it. Once someone called me back days later, again, they informed me that they had not even mailed the title yet, and because it took them so long to do the title I would not receive it in the mail until the day before my sales tax is due. Compounding my frustration at this time, I was told that they failed to do the inspection on the car on the day I took off of work to get the vehicle, and would be required to come in for one. I was also told that they would not be able to provide me with any kind of extended tag to give me more time to drive my car legally. I want to stress again, I write this at the the time where I have TWELVE HOURS to pay my sales tax or I will be driving my car illegally, and I STILL do not have the paperwork required to finish this process. None of the items on the “we owe” were actually fixed including tire issues, alignment/balancing issues, and a chipped windshield.

Lincoln recalled the airbags in our 2010 Lincoln MKX. We have gone to Auto Plaza on several occasions and asked that they replace it but they never have it in stock. In December we received a notice from Lincoln telling us that no one should ride in the passenger seat of the MKX because of the airbag recall. This has been a huge inconvenience because that forces me to ride in the back seat when my husband is driving and limits how many can ride. In May we received another letter from Ford motor company indicating that Ford would cover a rental car as an alternate means of transportation due to the airbag recall. It says that they will let us know by mail when the parts are at the dealer to get the airbag recall done but they anticipate that they will not be available until the 2nd or 3rd quarter. If you require a rental car contact you Ford or Lincoln dealer. I went to Auto Plaza on 6/11 where we purchased the vehicle for the rental. We were told they only had 6 rentals but they were already rented out to others that received the same letter a week earlier. We asked to be added to the waiting list but there was no waiting list. We were told the company is working with Enterprise. On 6/12 I called Enterprise and was told by *** there that they had no clue what we were talking about. The manager *** said there was nothing they could do because there was no one appointed to reimburse Enterprise. On 6/13 my husband called Auto Plaza and spoke to ***. *** denied working with Enterprise and confirmed they had no rentals. I called Lincoln directly and talked to John. He contacted Auto Plaza and found out that there are no dealerships in the area to get us a rental. I spoke to *** at Auto Plaza today and found that our name is on a waiting list now. *** said they would get 3 more cars in this week but we are number 4 on the list. *** said that we should find another dealer to get a rental.

I bought a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan from this dealer in March 2017 which is still covered by the manufacturer warranty and I bought an additional 3 year bumper to bumper. In April the check engine light came on with a code of *** (crank/camshaft misfire), the car would randomly die as I was driving it. Took back to the dealer where they found the code but could not get the issue to happen again so the computer was reset and I was sent home. My car continued to randomly die with the check engine light coming on. Took back to the dealer in May, same code of *** was discovered, dealer replaced the Oil Control Valve. This fixed the problem for a couple of months. In October my check engine light began to come on and the would go off for a while before coming back on. This continued for a month, I took the car to *** and they found code *** for the issue. A oil leak was then discovered. In December my check engine light began to flash and when this would happen the car would idle rough and would die. Took my car to a shop by my house where it stayed for a week, they fixed the oil leak and could not find the cause of the *** misfire so they performed a unneeded tune up. Picked up my car on a Friday from the shop and by Monday the check engine light was back on. Took it back to the shop, where it stayed for another 2 days, they cleaned the cam/crank shaft and sent it home. Check engine light came back on 3 days later. Took my car back to the dealer on Wednesday with the same issues I had been having since April where they again discovered code *** but I have been told they can't locate a problem and I had to pay for the loaner car I drove and for the diagnostic they ran. This car has been to the shop 5 times now with the issue not being resolved. I keep getting told by the dealer that they cannot get the car to duplicate the problem while they have it. Problem is this vehicle randomly dies while I am driving it an I fear as though it will kill me and my 4 children eventually.

Auto Plaza Ford Response • Jan 08, 2018

We can not speak of any experience Ms. had had at other repair shops. The experience we have had with the vehicle is that the customers complaint has yet to be duplicated. Without being able to duplicate we have been in touch with Chrysler (manufacturer of the vehicle) to try and come up with a diagnosis. We have tried everything we know with the help of Chrysler’s knowledge to repair this vehicle. On 01/04/18 we installed a variable valve timing actuator and we hope this will take care of the vehicle. We also did not charge Ms. for any use of our loaner vehicle.
