After midnight, 2/10/my vehicle was vandalized - besides paper bag and nasty note under driver side windshield wiper, found windshield shatteredAfter midnight, 2/11/2016, while vehicle is parked down the street, found five nails under new tires Collected nails Rear lighting fixtures smashed completely on right side Left side cracked because that side was more visibleSome time between 2/and 2/16, Holiday, antenna was bent, screw and nail in right rear tire Also spit and cigarette butts on car Collision Star was recommended by my regular mechanic at M*** On 2/Collision Star removed and repaired tire Estimate was given for the other repairs Waited, uncertain this person might repeat his actions after repairs completed This vandal was not a strangerAppointment scheduled and car taken 3/9/for repairs Collision Star had to keep car all day and said I could not wait in Shop Mechanic drove car back from organization at which I spend much of my time Friend took me back to Collision Star at PM to pick up car Work appeared to be excellent While trying to use washer fluid and wipers on 3/11, went back to Collision Star to learn hoses were useless, dry rot, and wiper blades not positioned to rest in base when not in use As of 3/30, new hoses were still not located Wipers remain in semi-upright position while mechanic says he is still trying to resolve this Cannot return there because, upon checking bag in trunk, found valuables were missing Dad's wedding ring engraved with date of their wedding was gone though Mom's ring was left This tiny box was at the bottom of bag and would require some digging to find Jewelry box which contained some of my last precious gifts, salvaged from theft of property by G*** Group, mentioned in G*** review at this site, was gone Collision Star insists no one took my property These were the only people to have access to my trunk in order to repair the rear lights These items meant a great deal to me and to find them gone left me in shockWas told I should not leave valuables in car But I really had no other safe place to store them and the bag was not interfering with repairs as it was at the back of trunk For this to work someone had to remove the bag, go through it and make their selections I trusted these people Never touched things that don't belong to me and don't understand why my things are missing, again Collision Star denies any responsibility But I say these were the only people with access to my trunk Be very careful out there It is a shame that some people cannot be trusted, but that is the world in which we live!! Bad enough G*** Group took all my things Now the last things I salvaged from my life seem to be gone Things my friend gave me! My Dad's wedding ring!! Collision Star, if you ARE innocent, then all will be well for you If these things were taken at your Shop - that law of sowing and reaping will come to visit you! Why did you not ensure all was as it should have been before the vandalism so the wipers and hoses operated properly!? Why could you have not returned my car and property as it was entrusted to you??

Yes I am rejecting there reply ! They told me only about the issues that they so called repaired And only the repairsJoe s*** the mechanic him self told me along with George I ONLY needed the repairs that were done There were no mention about sludge build up on the bottom of the engine at no time while my car was at collision star If there was why was there no estimate for that given and can they provide one ? Also there was no reason for my car to have been in there shop for weeks If I was were to be told it would take that long I would have never have done business with them The mechanic told me personally that it was an oil pump issue and that is the extent of the engine problem !
Please respond ASAP
Thanks ** ***

This matter was resolved within 48 hours of the complaint to the Revdex.com. There was a delay on the completion of repairs due to an issue between the insurance company and our shop. The insurance company would not pay for a $1500 seat that the vehicle needed in order to clear an air bag light. After...

weeks of negotiating with [redacted], they finally decided to pay for the seat once the customer started complaining. We agreed to pay the customer for her additional rental car expenses because of the delay. As previously indicated, the vehicle was completed within days of this complaint. The customer was also reimbursed for the additional rental car expenses that were incurred.

October 16. 2014Dear [redacted].I am writing in response to a correspondence recently received from the Revdex.com in reference to the above ID number. We acknowledge that we provided mechanical repairs to the customer’s vehicle. One of the initial challenges with; this customer was that he...

dropped the car off over a weekend without ever consulting with the front office. Several weeks went by before we were able to locate the customer and his repair needs. At this point, we were able to diagnose the vehicle and found severe damage to the manifold heads due to oil and water being mixed in the reservoir. We explained to the customer that oil sludge is a problem commonly found with the year and model of his car. Our recommendation was that he have the manifold heads rebuilt and the lower engine inspected, particularly since the car had 119,024 miles. The owner declined these repairs and indicated that he only wanted minimal repairs to keep the car running. It was understood by both parties that the agreed upon repairs could possibly resolve his issues, but that there was no guarantee given the documented problems with the vehicle through the manufacturer. Upon the owner’s approval, we completed repairs in the amount of $1,489.26, which was paid at pick up. The vehicle was brought back in several weeks.later because it was experiencing similar problems. We promptly attempted to resolve the problem by replacing an EGR valve and flushing the oil. which cost the customer an additional $271.65. After several weeks, the customer drove the vehicle back to our shop because the oil light came on, but he clearly stated that the car was running fine. The oil light was reset, however the vehicle was since towed back because the customer again had issues with the motor. Based on-mileage, the car had been driven over 2.000 miles since the initial repairs. The current mileage is 121,157.Based on our extensive research on the issue and consulting the dealership, our recommendation to the customer was that he considers replacing the motor on the vehicle. I requested that he come in to the office to discuss our findings on the vehicle and possible next steps. He has not contacted us since and the vehicle remains on our premises. Having been in the automotive and collision repair industry for over 25 years, it would have been illogical for me to claim that his vehicle would run like new. At this point, we would like for him to retrieve the vehicle from our shop. We have been fair and honest with the customer throughout this process and did all that we could to repair his vehicle. The below articles describe the issues with the owners vehicle.Respectfully,George H

I am writing in response to a correspondence recently
received from the Revdex.com in reference to the above ID number. We acknowledge that
we provided collision repairs to the customer’s vehicle. The vehicle was towed
to our shop on
month="8">8/17/15 after
being involved in a collision that resulted in significant damaged to the front
end of the vehicle. An appraiser from the customer’s insurance company visited
our shop to assess the vehicle on 8/19/15
and found $5,353.44 in accident related damages. Insurance companies typically
allow a 30 day cycle for this type of repair and will cover a rental for this
period. Unfortunately, this customer did not have rental on her insurance
policy, which caused the length of the repair process to be a burden for her.
Within one week of the vehicle being at the shop, we began receiving harassing
phone calls from the customer demanding that the vehicle be completed in a
short time because she was without transportation. As we attempted to expedite
the repair process, we found additional damaged that required us to contact the
insurance company for a supplement, which delays the repair process. There was
an additional $562 in damages, which we have not yet been paid.
After constant phone calls, we told the customer that we
would attempt to have the vehicle completed by 9/17/2015, which is right at the 30 day mark. On this
date, we had some small assembly to complete and agreed put the customer in a
complimentary rental vehicle until repairs were completed. The customer refused
the offer because Hertz required her to make a deposit with a personal credit
card even though we would cover the daily rental fee. Repairs were completed on
9/22/15 and the customer
was notified. As a courtesy, we also replaced a damaged fender that was not a
part of the insurance claim at no cost to the customer along with fully
detailing the car. The vehicle still remains on our premises because the
customer is responsible for a $1,000 deductible and does not want to pay. To
date, we have only received partial payment for the claim and are waiting for payment
on the additional damage along with the deductible. In all, the vehicle is
ready for delivery upon receipt of payment. These details can also be confirmed by [redacted] from [redacted] Insurance Co. at ###-###-####.
Please see the attached estimate
and photos of the vehicle to support this response.
Respectfully,

Good morning [redacted] -
Keeping my fingers crossed that a decision is made in my behalf.  Still have not received an email at least I don't think so.  Can you look into the status of my case.  Just paying for insurance for the last six months and no car !  They still have my car.  Surprised that the owner has not even contacted me from that shop.
Thanks

Avoid this terrible "body shop". When my car was in an accident a tow truck driver hitched my car then handed me a collision star business card. 45 days later they still have my car! They don't give time lines on completion. They refuse to release the car although they have been paid stating, " we're still waiting for a supplemental check from your insurance company". They are rude, even to my auto loan company. Do not seek service from this lazy and incompetent company!!
