Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/10/20) */ Auto Source LLC has never sold a car to [redacted] or had a 2001 Nissan Maxima in inventory in the last 2 years. Furthermore, we don't use a company called Brake Supply. Please send V.I.N. and approximate sale date to confirm or if... customer discovers complaint is with different Auto Source, please remove complaint. thanks, [redacted] Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/10/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Please see the attached invoice with the information requested. The office listed is out of [redacted] CO and the salesman's name was Kurt Jensen. The title was transferred from Auto Source LLC. You're not affiliated with this office? I didn't see a [redacted] location come up in the BBB directory, but I thought it was part of the same company. Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 10, 2015/10/30) */ Upon Auto Source purchasing this vehicle, it was immediately inspected by Brakes Plus. They told us there was a check engine light for a catalytic converter failure, which would in turn cause the vehicle to fail emissions. We were quoted $278.82 to have a new one installed, which [redacted] (our salesman) authorized, and no further communication occurred. Following the repair, [redacted] drove this Maxima for nearly a full week and put over 100 miles on it to ensure the check engine light never returned, and it did not. Moreover, the car passed [redacted] with flying colors following the repair. Mr. [redacted] 's statement that we "knew" the vehicle had more faulty catalytic converters is a blatant lie, and we also do not believe Brakes Plus ever made that statement to him. By Mr. [redacted] 's own admission, Kurt referred Mr. [redacted] back to the Brakes Plus that repaired the vehicle initially to see if the check engine light was related to their prior repair Clearly, we would not have done that if Mr. [redacted] 's claim that everybody involved (except him) had knowledge that the car wasn't repaired properly to begin with. Furthermore, on the rare occasions our customers do have issues, they generally contact us directly for resolution. Mr. [redacted] lodging a BBB complaint against us is the first we've heard from him since directing him to Brakes Plus over a month ago. If Mr. [redacted] 's true concern was having the vehicle repaired, he would have contacted us directly, rather than refuse to contact us again and sheepishly file an untruthful BBB-complaint seeking money. Mr. [redacted] purchased this Maxima with 65,000 miles on it, for $2870 before taxes and fees. We will not be returning half of that amount for an alleged problem that we had no knowledge of, nor ever presented itself on our watch. There are certain laws regarding used car sales in the state of Colorado: 1) Unless otherwise stated, all vehicles are sold As-Is with no warranties, and the customer will pay for all costs of any future repairs; 2) Vehicles sold in emissions-compliant areas MUST pass [redacted] or the selling dealer must pay to have the vehicle repaired. Please see attached files of Mr. [redacted] 's signature on the As-Is form as well as his signature on the copy of the vehicle's passing [redacted] certificate. The vehicle was advertised "As-Is" to the customer and he signed an As-Is disclosure prior to taking possession of the vehicle; as such, there were no advertising issues on our end to begin with. Sincerely, [redacted] Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 12, 2015/11/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) This response is not consistent with what I was told by the Brakes Plus contact. They told me that they recommended having all the catalytic converters replaced at the time [redacted] brought it in. The check engine light was on less than 24 hours after the purchase which means it could have even been turned off by an OBDII scan tool shortly before I bought it. I'm not saying I have proof of that, but it crossed my mind. I've seen similar complaints about your business. As far as saying that I didn't try to work this out with you first, I approached [redacted] and asked him if there was anything he could do about the check engine light turning on right after the sale and all I got out of it was the contact to the Brakes Plus place nearly 30 miles away from my house and a quote of $1,400 repair for a car that I just bought. Legally, I understand that I signed an "as-is" disclosure which is why I won't be taking legal action, but this goes more to ethics and good business practices than to the legality of the situation. This issue obviously existed before the point of sale. If you think you gave me such a good bargain, then as an alternative, buy the car back from me for what I paid for it.

Thanks for the response and I apologize I
never saw the attachment before. After opening the attachment, as I suspected, the vehicle was never part of our inventory. It was sold by the other branch of Auto Source which is primarily a wholesale operation. I spoke with the owner over there to find out where the title was and he responded that it was delivered to Dealers Auto Auction in mid-December. I contacted Dealers Auto Auction and confirmed that the title was delivered to them on Dec12th, 2017. Hopefully you have received the title by now and I apologize for the delay. Please let me know if you do not have it yet

Check [redacted] for $48 made out to [redacted] was printed on 7/28. It was mailed with the carfax report on approx. 7/29. The mechanic we used for the inspection was a [redacted] specialist thats not our normal mechanic. We've tried to contact him...

several times but haven't been able to reach him so we included his contact info in the mail to [redacted]. We apologize for the delay but [redacted] should have his check and carfax report now. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.
Thanks,
[redacted]

We don't typically sell cars at auction.  Could it be a different Auto Source?  I need to know the last 6 of the VIN and the auction in sold at and I will follow up but I am currently aware of every late title and have not heard anything about this.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], we finally received the title from Dealers Auto Auction on Dec. 21st. 2017. Which put us at 69 days. I don't find this satisfactory because this put us in a bind but am willing to call this satisfactory and to close this complaint.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted],   As I mentioned in our phone conversation, we have contacted the customer and agreed to pay the majority of the bill to fix her car.  Her portion is $500 and she has agreed.  The car is in the shop now and we expect it to be done today or tomorrow.  Let me know if you...

need anything else.   Thanks,
