To Whom It May Concern:
It is our company policy to sell all vehicles “AS IS" from our dealership. ALL of our customers, including [redacted], not only are told this, but also to SIGN the Buyer's Guide that clearly states that the customer is buying a vehicle AS IS stating, “You will pay all...

costs for any repairs. The dealer assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle.” [redacted] had read AND signed this guide. Please see enclosed copy of the Buyer's Guide with [redacted]'s signature. We offer the option for our customers to purchase a warranty through an independent warranty company (GWC). The warranty through GWC is a contract through the customer and GWC, and NOT Auto Source. We are not liable for any repairs to the vehicle once the customer has purchased the vehicle from us (ie. Vehicles being sold “AS IS"). We actually tried helping [redacted] by Auto Source purchasing the Warranty through GWC, and including it in the purchase price of the vehicle.Regarding [redacted]'s complaint, the vehicle was checked over by our certified mechanic. The vehicle was inspected, and we did have new tires put on the vehicle. There weren’t any check engine fights/codes on when the vehicle was sold. There is no way to predict when a check engine light/code will come on.
[redacted] did contact us concerning a check engine light that had come on several days after her purchase. We had her bring the [redacted] back for us to have it checked. We had our certified mechanic check it. He replaced the EGR Valve. We did not hear anything about the check engine light coming back on after that. This was a COURTESY, not a NECESSITY, for us to fix this problem since she had bought the vehicle ASIS. And we did not charge her for the repair.
She had NOT mentioned anything about an oil light, abs system, or electronic brake system light being on at that time. She did later at some point mention something about an ABS light that had come on, but went out on its own, and we didn’t hear anything more about that. We were also NOT informed of an electronic brake system warning light that had come on.Approximately 8 weeks AFTER her purchase, [redacted] sent Chris a picture of the temperature gauge. It was reading “a little over the middle” as [redacted] had stated. Chris advised her to let it cool down, to not drive it “hot”, and take it to a mechanic to have it checked out as soon as possible. Later on, she informed us of a blown head gasket. That would only have occurred had she not heeded Chris's warning to not drive the vehicle while it is “hot”.
We have on numerous occasions told her to contact the warranty company and go through them to find a repair facility that works with GWC. She continually did NOT take our suggestions. She was very uncooperative and repeatedly commented that she didn’t have time to take the necessary steps to work through the warranty process. So this in turn, would have created unnecessary additional expenses for her to incur.
[redacted] also failed to state that she had driven over 1,000 miles from the time she purchased the [redacted] from us on November 20, 2014 to mid-January 2015. If there was a blown head gasket at the time of purchase in November 2014, she would not have been able to put on over 1,000 miles of driving on the [redacted]. This problem occurred well after she had purchased the [redacted] from Auto Source. There is no way any certified mechanic is going to be able to predict that a blown head gasket existed on the [redacted] at the time of purchase, especially after that amount of miles had been put onto the vehicle.
There will not be any refunds given to [redacted] by Auto Source for the following reasons:1. The vehicle was sold “AS IS". We have enclosed a copy of the bill of sale and a copy of the Buyer's Guide. Both have her signed signature, which acknowledges the fact that she understands she is buying the vehicle “AS IS". She is responsible for paying for any and all repairs of the vehicle. The Buyer's Guide clearly states that the dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs.
2. We strongly suggested to [redacted] that she contact the warranty company, and go through one of their repair shops. She claimed that she didn't have time to deal with the warranty procedures. If She incurred additional expenses because of not following our recommendations, than that was her choice.
3. The head gasket problem did not exist when she purchased the vehicle. She drove over 1,000 miles with the [redacted], something that couldn't have been done with a blown head gasket. The [redacted] continued to be driven when it was running hot, which led to the blown head gasket. This is negligence on the part of [redacted] to have continued to drive the vehicle when it was running hot.Auto Source Stands behind all their vehicles however, it is paramount that all buyers are completely aware of their purchase, and the documents in which he or she is signing.
Sincerely,Eric G
Co-Owner

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: after reading the response of the dealerships I would have to point out several mistakes on there party. There certified mechanic had inspected the vehicle however there was a coolant leak onto a spark plug causing the engine to over heat. The vehicle was not driven hot, there wasn't 1,000 miles put on since purchase (I have another vehicle), I had spoken to the warranty company and tried to work with them as I told Chris, they would not comply on labor rate, certain parts, and many other things. The warranty company was contacted as soon as Chris had told me it's all my fault, his mechanic found nothing wrong, and so on so forth. I had done everything Chris said. I had paid $618.00 plus another $636.12 to then replace all the lifters, rocker arm, and the fuel pump. I'm only asking for part of what I had paid. Not all of it. They sold me a vehicle that has cost me over $1200.00 not including the $1200.00 the warranty company paid even I had already paid this business $10000.00 for the vehicle. After being reassured numerous times what a great vehicle it is and so on and so forth. I had purchased the car in November and it has been in a real mechanics shop for 3 months until I had gotten it back and it was drivable. Chris however was very rude, about the situation after I had told him what was wrong and told me to call the warranty company and that it isn't his problem and was my fault. There response is incorrect and I have what he told me. Like I had said I'm not even asking for half of what I've paid on this [redacted] I'm asking for $618.00 which was the first Bill.
Regards,
[redacted]
