Auto Star Transport, Inc Reviews (14)

My experience with Auto Star Transport was less than ideal. There was a great lack of communication between myself and their drivers, but part of this might be attributed to the fact that I didn't reach out to them directly to transport my car across the country - I used another service ([redacted]) that scheduled them as my transport company as they had a trucker going from the east coast to the west coast during the time period I wanted my car to be transported.

The painful process initially began when my request for pickup between Monday-Wednesday of the week was not honored - which meant that I had to find somebody else to sign off on my vehicle as I was flying out to the west coast on Thursday. This was okay, as I knew there was a possibility that my 3-day window would not be met.

However, when they told me that it would be picked up between Wednesday and Friday ([redacted]and the driver even called and told me it would be picked up Friday morning[redacted]), and it was not picked up until Saturday morning (inconveniencing even more people who were going out of their way to help me), I started to get a little bit frustrated. Apparently, Auto Star Transport also hands off the vehicles to multiple drivers. I was not aware of this, but it can be confusing when different people call you telling you that they are on track to pickup/delivery your vehicle when you didn't know they had your vehicle in the first place.

My delivery experience was also a bit of a hassle. The driver called and told me that it would be delivered to Seattle on Friday morning. (They also didn't have my updated delivery address, which they should have been given two weeks prior when I updated it.) That was fine - this was actually earlier than I had thought it would take. But, Friday came and I received no phone call. I called the driver to discover that the truck was getting serviced in Spokane, and that he would give me a call back later. No call ever arrived.

Monday rolls around and I finally got a call from another driver saying that my car was going to be delivered that day. Finally! It arrived in one piece, a bit dirty, but nothing wrong with it as far as I could tell. At this point, I was just glad the process was over and I didn't need to worry about never seeing my car again.

Review: I shipped my car with this company on October 4th 2013 from Georgia to Seattle, the driver was late on pick up and it took 14 days to get my car when all the paper work says 7-10 days for drop off. So it was late being dropped off to, I called several times asking for a manager and never got one only got excuses that he just stepped out or he will call never received a call. They even hung up on me after I called to talk to a manager when they ask me who was calling I gave him my name and the dispatcher hung the phone up and would not pick up again. I can't even count how many times I have called them. I payed 1350 for my car to be shipped and heard nothing but lies and excuses about where my car was and I didn't feel I should have to pay the full amount. The company told me they would discuss a discount after I received my car and I have still yet to hear from them or get a hold of a manager. I did a report with the attorney general's office and the company didn't respond to the complaint either. This company will rip you off in a hurry and don't even care if you are military.Desired Settlement: I want at least half of my payment back.

This company is horrible. They will not pick-up or return multiple phone calls. They were five days late on the pick charged an additional 100 dollars on agreed upon price. They lied about contacting my releasing agent and are now trying to charge me 40 dollars a day for the car to be held in a holding lot. They have not gave me an address to pick the car up at and again wont pick-up or call back. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! oh and I'm a United States Marine if that helps my credibility.

Review: I contracted auto star transport to transport my new 2013 [redacted] optima from liberty lake Washington to houma Louisiana at a cost of $1,250. the transporter arrived ten days later and called me at 4am in the morning to get it. he parked in an unlit area and had the car unloaded. due to the darkness I was only able to inspect the car by flashlight. I noticed damage on drivers side fender and noted it on delivery form and told driver. after daylight I noticed additional damage to roof. immediately called star auto and spoke to allen davis and reported it. he told me to take pics of damage and send them to him which I did the same day. called him back the next day and he told me they would pay for repairs. got three estimates and sent to him. lowest estimate was $1,631. did not hear from him for a week so I called today 09/30/13 and was told they wouldn't pat for all of it because I did some of it myself! I paid $25,000 for this car and it was NOT Damage when picked up!Desired Settlement: full payment of damages and five day rental car expenses.

Review: They shipped my vehicle from Spanaway, WA to Clarksville,TN. They shipped it earlier then they said they would which didn't fit my timing. So they put it in storage which I had to pay couple hundred extra. When I arrived they would not release the information of where my vehicle was located until I wired the rest of the money. So I gave in and wired the money. I got to my vehicle and it was damaged from the driver door being dented in and the exhaust system being ripped and canted downwards. I immediately called them and they said to take pictures and file a claims. So I did. A week of calling and emailing I didn't get any response. And when I did get through on the line they either gave me the run around or hung up on me. After a week Alan finally called me and said he is not going to repair the damage they did to it. Saying I should have claimed it when receiving the car when I wasn't there since they said 7-11 days to ship and they did it in 3. Then they wouldn't let me see the car without paying the remaining balance and then lied to me saying to just send pictures when I was right there looking at my vehicle. So after paying a 1000 to ship my vehicle and then storage fee, now I have to pay 1500 out of my pocket to fix the damages they will not fix. I highly would not recommend this place yo anyone that wants good customer service or just a good honest business. I hope they get shut downDesired Settlement: I would like them to reimburse me for my shipping fee, storage fee, and also the fee for fixing the damages they have done to my vehicle.

This company was horrible. They never have 24 hrs notice for car pick up. They loaded the car in the middle of a road that connected to I95 in the heart of jacksonville instead of a parking lot that could have easily accommodated their vehicle. In addition they changed drivers with no notice. Lastly they were a day late with delivery and the car was covered in grease. Horrible customer service will never use again.

Review: Auto Star Transport was hired by [redacted], to transport my HONDA ACCORD they. Auto Star took my car on 30 May 2013 they indicated they would have my car transported to Virginia in 7 to 10 days. When I called Auto Star to ask them about my Honda I spoke to [redacted] and [redacted] indicated he did not have my car he gave me a number to call and he said the man who had my car was [redacted]. I called [redacted] and asked him why my car was late. He was rude and I then got upset because he said that His driver almost lost his life because of my Stinking car. I was shocked upset and I gave the phone to my husband because never have I been treated with such disrespect. They told us they were going to have the car to us in a few more days. He said that his driver got into an accident. Upon receiving my car It was very badly damaged. and I told the man he looked at me and said you should have paid more. I called [redacted] from Magic Carpet auto transport as he was the one who them. He indicated they would take care off all repairs he would send me the insurance document. They did send me the document however they have not sent any payment as of yet nor have I received a response to any of the phone calls nor has my insurance company as they have been tring to contact them for payment. I do not believe that we can let these companys do what they want and do the customer wrong and just walk away from it all. I need resolution some answers as to why I have not received payment for the damages. Clearly these people do not value their customers they did not treat me with any respect nor did they correct their issues. Please help me make right what they made wrong.Desired Settlement: I have my car scheduled to go to the shop to be fixed on 22 July that is more than a month since the incident. I would like them to pay for the damages in full as they indicated they would.

Review: I had my car shipped from Altamonte Springs, FL to Seattle, WA in September 2012. It was delivered to me on September 18, 2012 with items stolen from the car including a video camera, digital camera and camera bag, necklace, and my aunt's ring who passed away from cancer. The items that were stolen were worth about $5,000. I contacted the company directly at that time and they did not do anything about it. I paid them $975 to ship the car.Desired Settlement: at least a refund

Review: Well! I am not satisfied with the delivery that they provide. They lied to me from the first day. They came and picked up my car from Tacoma in Friday on the 4/12/13 3:00pm and took to Spokane and kept my car for 12 days in Spokan WA. So I waited one week and my car wasn't there ,in 10th day I call them: asking where is my car? I didn't received any phone calls from them explaining to me why is my car not there. And even when I tried to make a phone calls , they would not answer the phone. So I found the phone number to the office, and they told me that my car was still in Washington after 11th day because something happen to a truck. they didn't informed me of any information, onto I called them.Desired Settlement: I did paid them $825 upfront.I would like them to pay me at least an half $400.

Review: My vehicle Nissan Armada 2004 was transported by Auto Star Transport from Lakewood Washington to Fayetteville NC on May 23 2013 and got to Faytteville on May 29 2013 at 654 pm, when it got here there was a problem with the hydraulics on Auto star transport truck, my armada was in the middle of the cargo and as the driver [redacted] was pulling my armada off of the cargo the hydraulics went bad and the car above my armada went down on my truck and stay there for about 3 hours once [redacted] the diver got the hydraulics fix the car above my was still on my armada and cause damage to my Armada. The traveling rack was crushed and scratched and the driver the [redacted] was yelling that everything was Ok! But,once my Armada came off the truck we could clearly see there was damage to my Armada the Driver [redacted] got on top on my armada with a coloring pen trying to cover up the scratch on the traveling rack and there is print damage at the size of a dime and also a hole on the top of my Armada. The Driver and I got into an argument it was so bad that I had to call the police because [redacted] had my money 1250.00 and my keys to my vehicle. I have contacted Montway Auto transport and advised the company what as happen and [redacted] sent my by via email a copy of the certificate of insurance for Auto Star Transport, Inc. I advised him that I have been calling since 830am this morning and no return call. Snake advised me he would give Auto star a call and call back... which he did at 241pm. [redacted] from Auto star call me and advised me to send him all the pictures and [redacted] marked the there was Damage to numerous to list and did not list them. I want my Armada repair! [redacted] and his help were very unprofessional and need to be put out of business.Desired Settlement: Repair my Armada

Review: Having a vehicle delivered from Butte Montana to North Carolina. Contract states that the carriers do not accept credit cards unless previous arrangements have been made. Spoke with the driver to deliver vehicle on Saturday evening, November 9th about accepting a credit card and he stated they did not take credit cards. I told him that I would need to cancel the delivery. He said the he would need to call the company and call me back. He called back a little later and said that they would work with me and take a credit card. Received a call from the company on November 14th to tell me they would be delivering the car that evening or the next day and I would need to have cash. I told them about the previous conversation and that I was told they would take a credit card. I was told they would not. I told them I could not get the car because I did not have cash. I was told that I would get my car and that I would be responsible for all charges. I told them that I was lied to and did not appreciate that. Later another rep from this company called me and told me that I could go to Western Union and use my credit card to get cash. I told him I wanted to file a complaint and he told me he didn't care about that he just wanted to let me know how I could get my money. I told him I would get him his money I wanted my car but I would be sure to let people know to stay away from his company. I hung up. A few minutes later he called me back just to hang up on me. I called Western Union and they informed me that I could not use a credit card to get cash as this representative had told me to do.Desired Settlement: I want me car and I was this company to discount my price for giving me false information and I wasn't this to hurt their rating and credibility. I would also like an apology for the rude treatment.

Review: My truck was picked up at 10:30pm 12/05/2013. I thought this was a bit late, but the truck needed to be delivered to NY and I was helping out my boyfriend. We were originally promised a 5-7 day turn around time. Once the truck was picked up, we were told it'd be delivered by 12/15 because of snow delay in Eastern WA. Still doable and reasonable. We did have to call and find out that there was a delay. 12/18/2013 rolls around and his truck still isn't there. I called up and asked where it was, I was told it was scheduled to be there 12/17/2013. I had to tell him that the day had passed! He then told me it would be there that Friday without a doubt (12/20) and they'd call within 24 hours to confirm an exact drop off time and place. 12/19 came and no phone call. 12/21/2013 came and they finally called saying it'd be there that night. (no 24 hour notice as promised) Because of the 3 delays we asked for a price adjustment, especially since we had to call to find out there were delays!! We were told by the dispather only the manager can make that call and we'd get a call back. We never got a call and never got an adjustment. I loaded the truck orginally with 1/4 of a tank of gas. I'm a heavy equipment operator in the Navy, I know about shipping and storing vehicles. That's all you need. My boyfriend got his truck and it was on E and was told they even had to fill it up! They never told us it would be driven that much or even to have at least half a tank in it. Horribly disappointed with the delivery service and lack of communication. NEVER using this company again and we move across country, we're military!Desired Settlement: We understand we can't get the delivery for free, we would just like an adjustment of 375 to make the total cost 900 like we were originally told from the company who contracted [redacted].

They damaged my car during transport. Their customer service when they do respond is rude. They refused to pay for fixing the car claiming that the damage was underneath and they didn't look there. The major damage is not the worst part of this transaction, rather it is the peasant of a "manager" that talks like a street thug. Stay away from these, dudes. They should be shut down. I am planning to take legal action against them.

Review: Contracted to have my car transported from piont A to piont B. I will have cash upon delivery. Sounds easy enough. Very strange experience with the driver calling asking me to meet him on the highway 20 minutes after picking up my car with no explaination. When asked why, he babbled something and never called back again. Needless to say I was concerned about the rest of the cross country delivery of my vehicle. Driver arrived at the destination in my vehicle at ten oclock at night insisting I get in my car with him and drive him back to his truck, somewhere. I refused and they held my car hostage for 2 days insisting money be wired, making incredible false claims of drunkeness , racist behavior on why they did not deliver my car that night.Eventually I had to drive to a auto junk yard an hour away with cash to get my car.Car was filthy. In short "NIGHTMARE", do not use these people they do not have the truth in them.Did not come close to fullfilling their contract, frightfull to communicate with , if you can get them to answer the phone.Desired Settlement: Letter of apology, partial refund for time and cost for non delivery.
