Auto Stereo and Installation Reviews (7)

I feel I responded appropriately the first time on this matter! Also I have nothing else to say except I think I would know how to deal with a issue like this (including double checking ) after years in business and personally installing !

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.None of the installers response alters the fact that he returned my truck with an air bag system fault after he had installed the CD deckThe fault was caused by his failure to re-connect one of the system componentsMy suggestion to him is to invest in a scanner, similar to the one used by Allenton Service, to track down the fault problem and fix it before he returns a damaged vehicle to a customerI would still like to be reimbursed for the charges to fix the air bag fault on my truck Regards, [redacted]

The installer at Auto Stereo and Installation has admitted that the Air Bag fault light was on after he worked on the truckThe fault was not present at all before he worked on the truckAllenton Service found that the air bag switch plug was disconnectedThey reconnected the switch plug and were able then to clear the air bag faultI believe the switch plug was disconnected by the installer at Auto Stereo and Installation and that he failed to re-connect it before giving me the truck backI also believe he is unprofessional for returning my truck with damage to a primary safety system without fixing itIf the air bag fault light is on, the air bag system is not functional. I attached the Allenton Service bill to document what they did to repair the air bag fault

I feel I responded appropriately the first time on this matter!  Also  I have nothing else to say except I think I would know how to deal with a issue like  this (including double checking ) after 21 years in business and personally installing  !

customer was informed that  the air bag light was on.  sometimes during a stereo installations  we have no choice but to simply  unplug the airbag connector to to get the dash off to get at the radio , no sure if this was the reason for it being on and if it was I informed him of...

prior customers have googled online how to reset it for that type on vehicle  if that was the case . seeing the airbag light on  after  radio was installed I double checked to see if it was pluggd in and it was , it was very easy to check ! he aggreeded to see if it could be reset and I informed him I am not responsible for it ! him going to the service center and having the airbag light looked at or reset along with other work he was there for  is not our responsiblity like I told him prior .  sounds like he either tried to tackle it himself and left it unplugged after leaving here  or had a prior intermitten  issue with airbag in the past . after getting back to him on the phone  letting him know a second time im not responsible , he then threatened me by saying he was gonna try to tell all kinds of bad things about me ,and told me I was unprofessional , and said he was gonna report me to the Revdex.com. at that point I said that could be slander cause its not true and said goodbye .

Review: Auto Stereo and Installation did a radio/CD deck installation into my 2004 Dodge pickup in early December 2015. I brought both the vehicle and a new radio/CD player to the installation shop several days before the appointment to show the installer what I had and what needed to be done. The installer performed the installation several days later at the appointed time. When I picked the vehicle up, he informed me that the air bag fault light was on. He told me that it might clear itself within a few days of driving. I was concerned, but I had no other way of getting home but to use the pickup truck he had worked on. The air bag fault continued to stay on for three weeks and I took it in to Allenton Service to have them diagnose and correct the fault. They found that the passenger seat sensor had not been re-connected. They connected the sensor and cleared the fault then charged me $58.63 for the service. I then called Auto Stereo and Installation and asked the installer to provide a credit to my Visa card to cover the charges for the air bag fault fix. He refused. It was an improper installation that caused the air bag fault and Auto Stereo and Installation needs to take responsibility for the damage and cover the repair charges. I have all of the documentation for the radio/CD installation and the air bag fault repair.Desired Settlement: Auto Stereo and Installation credits my Visa account $58.63 to cover the air bag fault repair.

The installer at Auto Stereo and Installation has admitted that the Air Bag fault light was on after he worked on the truck. The fault was not present at all before he worked on the truck. Allenton Service found that the air bag switch plug was disconnected. They reconnected the switch plug and were able then to clear the air bag fault. I believe the switch plug was disconnected by the installer at Auto Stereo and Installation and that he failed to re-connect it before giving me the truck back. I also believe he is unprofessional for returning my truck with damage to a primary safety system without fixing it. If the air bag fault light is on, the air bag system is not functional. I attached the Allenton Service bill to document what they did to repair the air bag fault.
