Had a great experience with Denise. She helped me with a difficult vehicle transfer to Florida from Maryland. The only state that gives an additional red title if you are financing the car. The lien holder provided me with the red MD title but failed to give me the original blue title. Denise provided me with the forms from MD so I could request a duplicate title and even took the time to help me complete it. Mind you it had nothing to do with Florida. Once I received the blue title, she had my Florida tags the next day. I even got a text message saying they were ready for pickup. The experience was amazing. So nice to have helpful and friendly people in the office.

I am a classic car collector and have been working with this office many times. They make the process super convenient as I travel out of state often. Be sure to ask for Andy or Denise.

I have been there several times and I can tell you the service is terrific! The people are friendly, courteous, and they can get things done right away without any hassle! The tag agency is clean and well organized and it saves me a lot of time and headache's getting the tags for my vehicle. I would highly recommend Auto Tags of East Broward without any hesitations, it's got plenty of parking and easy to find right off of Wilton Manors Center. There is also another handy location in Oakland Park right behind the Publix if you're on the other side of town. They not only do cars but motorcycles boats ATVs golf carts you name it I'll take care of it for you! If you're looking for a vanity plate or personalized plate they can take care of that as well.

We had a bad experience. My husband knew that we were using a private company that would charge something for their service, but I though I was using a branch of the FL DMV. When I found out, I wanted to know what their fees were for us not to stand in line. At first we were told $35.

Then when we said we wanted personalized FL plates, we were told that would be another $150. When I explained that the annual fee was only about $15 and that $150 seemed too much, the office manager said that she could give us a break since we were already paying $35 and thus reduced our fee to them to $125 + $35 = $160. When we asked specifically what their fee was verses what we would pay if we worked directly with DMV, she wouldn't answer directly and only said that she knew it would be more than $15. That's when we knew that we were dealing with a sleazy operation wanting to take advantage of us since they would not disclose their fees for their services.

They worked up our total charges (including transferring our car from DE to FL) and said it would be $663. When we kept wanting to verify the FL cost to determine how much we would be paying for this private sector service, they gave us a DMV number to call, maybe thinking that we would be on hold too long as we were later with a follow-up call. But, fate was with us and a DMV person answered after a few rings. She calculated what our fee would be and told us about $425 for all. That is $238 less than what we would have been charged! So, we left and went to the Plantation's DMV the next day where we change our car registration from DE to FL and obtained our personalized plates without any problems.

Also, *** who was processing us, butted heads with us and tried to bully us into going forward by belittling our questions and tweaks we requested. When he went to the sight to see if our personalized plate was available, we noticed that it was the same site with FAQ that we had used. Since he could not tell us how much FL would charge us to determine his fee, we asked to look at that site. He said that he would when he was finished after we asked a couple of times. Instead, when he finished completing the form he click off of the site and wouldn't return as we requested. Then he print one our last names with what looked like a K instead of an R. When we requested that he correct it to a R, he said that they could read his writing. When he left "Drive, Unit 901" off our our address, we asked him to correct and he did by just adding "901" and not "Drive" or "Unit". Again he got aggravated with us and said "What's the big deal'" and that it was our fault for asking about the FAQ site that distracted him.

Needless to say, it was a very bad experience and our best decision was to walk and do it all directly with DMV. Not only did we save $238, but had a super courteous and professional DVM employee help us out.

Any private service organization like this should be required by law to disclose all of their fees and add ons. When they don't clearly disclose and start saying "about" so much or it's much better than waiting in line, it's clearly time to leave. For a $238 difference, it's clear that they also had many other hidden costs that they were hiding to rip the public off.

We hope that they will be investigated and that the Florida agency that licensed them or allowed them to provide this service will hold them accountable or terminate the authority that allows AUTO TAGS OF EAST BROWARD to continue to operate.

Auto Tags Of East Broward Response • Jun 27, 2019

This customer presented to our office initially stating a title transfer is $25.00 as is done in his prior state of residence. During the course of his visit, he requested additional separate services including a custom plate that is processed separately. He elected to use another office and had he had overages in fees, I would have gladly refunded him.

Our local community reputation over the last five + years speaks for itself when it comes to our dedication to our customers and the success and integrity of our business. Our title specialists always thrive by having clients leave our office in good spirits. They do ask if anyone needs a vanity or personalize plate, if the customer wants it we will process the paperwork as well. If anyone has additional questions about the process at the State level, we are always happy to provide a local tax collectors number as was suggested in this case. The department of highway patrol does not have an online lookup tool to calculate the cost of a particular transaction and the public tax collector's office does not offer out of state VIN and odometer verification which we offer on site. If a customer requests further information or clarification, we provide the local tax collector hotline for them to make an informed decision or if there are particular concerns requiring access to their local driving record.

I would have gladly refunded this customer for any overages.

1. Never said anything about a title transfer is $25 in my prior state of residence.

2. Did not use another AUTO TAGS office. Went directly to the Florida tax office (DMV) and processed all that we needed $238 lower than what I would have had to pay AUTO TAGS.

3. "Dedication to our customers and the success and integrity of our business" does not include not disclosing all of your fees that are in addition to what is paid to the State of Florida. When asked, you should clearly disclose what additional amount the customer is paying for you service.

4. Did not leave the office in good spirits and was very frustrated with the push for us to go forward with AUTO TAGS without having their fees for their service fully disclosed.

5. The VIN and odometer verification is very easily obtain by your local police department at no fee. In fact, some police departments will even come to your location so that you do not need to go to their police station. All at no cost to you which is not disclosed by AUTO TAGS . . .

6. Making an informed decision is what is important. AUTO TAGS does not help you in making this informed decision since they say it will cost $35 and then $150 for a personalized plate. Since they work with the local tax collector on a daily basis and know how much the local tax collector is paid, AUTO TAGS should be able to easily disclose how much AUTO TAGS keeps for their service so that the customer can decide if this fee is worth not having to work directly with the local tax collector. But, AUTO TAGS is not fully disclosing all of their fees and thus the customer is not able to make an informed decision.

7. I am glad to hear that AUTO TAGS would gladly refunded their customers for any "overages". Fortunately for us, we realized what was happening and left before paying any high fees to AUTO TAGS. If only they would pay the overages that were not fully disclosed to their other customers . . .
