Since our last conversation City Wide tow has returned [redacted]s car and she has agreed to pay $500.00 to install a used transmission.As far as her payment to City Wide Tow I have no idea what they will do. Prior to removing the car from us we left serveral messages which were not returned.At that time we were unable to find a replacement transmission, . The last time we spoke to Mrs Oliver she said she would tow the car home. The car sat here almost a yearbefore we called city wide tow to store it.

Review: THIS SHOP HAS REFUSED TO REFUND $545.21 OF $900.54 OWED ME FOR WORK PAID, BUT NOT DONE.

I took my car to this shop, 4/25/11 because the fuel level indicator moved rapidly, digit by digit, from full to empty and back again when driving; and the ABS Brake/Trac Control lights were staying on. I was told by Mr. [redacted] that a new left front hub assembly would be needed to fix the Brake/Trac Control issue, and a new fuel pump would be needed to fix the fuel guage issue. I was charged $900.54. Within days, both issues returned. I called Mr. [redacted] 4/29/11 to inform him, and notify him I would return the next Monday, 5/2/11. However, my car was rear-ended 5/1/11, and taken to Mid-Cal Body Shop,Stockton, 5/2/11 where it was diagnosed that the front left hub assembly unit was not new, and was in fact bad. Further, the fuel level sensor was also bad, and continuing to erratically fluctuate - repairs Mr. [redacted]'s invoice states were made.

I phoned Mr. [redacted] 5/20/11 regarding these issues, and followed with a letter 5/27/11, requesting refund. There was no response. I went to Midas. The fuel pump assembly unit was fixed 6/6/11. I called Mr. [redacted] 6/14/11. He stated he would fully refund if I provided receipts which I did along wit the old fuel pump to him 6/16/11. Again, no response.

I called my credit card company to dispute the $900.54 charge 6/22/11. The charge was reversed. I was notified 7/26/11 by my credit card company that Mr. [redacted] disputed the reversal claiming that the parts he had installed in my car were new, and that my problems were the result of an auto accident. I contacted Mr. [redacted] 8/5/11 who informed me that he would reimburse the fuel assembly part plus taxes, only. ($355.33) I ask to be refunded the remainder of the $900.54, $545.21. I acted in good faith with Mr. [redacted], and did not receive the same in return. Payment has been retained from me for repairs not performed. Receipts/invoice statements from Mid-Cal Body Shop and Midas Auto Service are available.Desired Settlement: REFUND OF $545.21

Response:

Ms [redacted] car was repaired with new parts that carry a one year warranty. As stated in her complaint she refused to return for a warranty inspection at no charge.

I informed her Auto tech Service could do nothing until we inspect the car. Thats is when she informed us repairs had been done by Midas, I contacted Midas for information concerning these repairs the manager informed me they replaced the fuel pump and noticed it was new they informed Ms [redacted] of this and suggested she return to the original shop for possible warranty which she refused but requested the old parts. We contacted Ms [redacted] and offered a refund for the defective part she was given which she agreed and was refunded the cost of the fuel pump. Also the manager at Midas stated the traction control light was on and was simply repaired as it had a loose connection.

After the refund we thought we had this resolved but found Ms [redacted] had filed a complaint with B.A.R. in which a represenative visited us to review receipts for

proof we replaced parts listed on Ms [redacted] invoice, she also ask in her complaint for a refund of the remainder of her billed which was denied. Ms [redacted] explained to us that she didn't want to take off work for the repairs so she took the vehicle to midas on saturday for repairs with the expectation of a refund from Auto tech Service.
