Review: On Nov. 20 I made an appointment for a remote auto starter to be installed. They stated their first open date was Dec. 5 at 8 AM and they would need a 100 dollar deposit to hold it for me. I had them put it on my charge card. I was told by [redacted] that it's about a four hour job and a 20 dollar charge for removing the old starter. I had the car there at 8 AM. About 12:30 I called and the car was not ready. I called again at 2:50 and the car was still not ready. I explained to dawn that my work shift ended at 3:30 and I needed the car to make my 30 mile trip home. I got there just before 4 and the car was in the garage and [redacted] had not even finished removing the old unit. I informed them I had totake the car as I had no way to get home. I told them I'd bring it back monday morn. at 8 to finish the job. I was told that I would have to make an appointment two weeks down the road. I said forget it. Take the $20 and I'll get it done somewhere else.

That's when they said they're keeping the deposit and the $20 was based on the instalation of the new unit.Desired Settlement: Refund $80.

Response:

I am responding to case id#[redacted] car was indeed not finished and we did charge her $100 . We did tell her that the removal would be $20 WITH the installation of a new remote start. But she WAS told the following, which we tell all of our customers:1) bring your car in by 8am and it will be done by 5pm.2) the $100 down payment is to order your special order vehicle specific remote startThe removal took longer to remove than we anticipated, but we still had 1.5 hours to finish her remote start to which her husband said NO.I also said then we would need to reschedule and we were out 2 weeks at the time. He again said NO!We are now out 5 weeks and counting, but I would be willing to still install her remote start, charge her $20 plus the charge of the remote start. If she is not willing to reschedule it, I need to keep the down payment and will still lose $80 as we did remove her old remote start and have her new special order remote start here.Thank you

Review: This past August I made arrangements with [redacted] of Auto Trim & Sign to install an adhesive clear protectant to various locations of our 2015 Chrysler 200S. One of my questions to [redacted] was if the material is cut prior to installation or on the car, I didn't want our car damaged by having them do this. He assured me (I have various emails from [redacted]) that everything is cut before installation, which I trusted him. The installation was completed in 2 different visits. During the first one on 8/21/15 we had the edge of the trunk & door sills done. One of the door sills had to be re-done due to something trapped behind it which was to be replaced (per [redacted]) at the next visit. On 9/19/15 we took our car back to [redacted] to have the hood done. I had specifically asked for only the leading edge of the hood to be done. When we got it back half the hood was done along with the mirrors and fenders which I never asked for nor did he say would be done. As I looked closer at it I discovered that the material was cut on the car resulting in a lot of damage which now needs to be repaired. Also, the piece on the door sill that was to be replaced was "fixed" by someone taking a razor & cutting the bad part out resulting in more paint damage. When I brought this to [redacted]'s attention in both email & on the phone he said there was confusion on how much I wanted done. I asked why he didn't ask me for clarification & he had no answer. We then talked about the paint & he said that he will "dictate" where it goes to be fixed. Given his track record so far I didn't trust him at this point regarding re-installing the clear protectant or the paint & had to submit the damage to our insurance so it is fixed properly & not by someone he knows that will just do a cheap rush job. However, our insurance doesn't cover refunds on products or installations. [redacted] is also not willing to discuss things any further with me per an email from him. Pat's Auto Body of Plover, WI has documented the damage with multiple pictures.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund from Auto Trim & Sign of Wausau on everything we have paid for the clear protectant. I have 2 invoices for both times our car was there for the product & installation with the total bill being $503.22. Having him offer to re-do the installation is not an option, I've seen what the quality of work is, I do not trust what he says or that the job would even be done properly.

Response:

On 10/26/14 [redacted] informed me of the problem. I stated on 10/26/14 that upon inspection I would:1) rewrite his warranty
