Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/02/13) */ On February 27, [redacted] bought a USED Ford Freestyle with 108k miles from Autos Less IncAt which time when she bought the car it was in very good mechanical conditionIn December of she contacted me and asked me if I could get her a Carfax so she could she what service history that had been done on the vehicle thinking the transmission was under some warrantyThat being the first we had ever heard about the situationI did explain to her that I did not have Carfax only Auto check and Auto Check does not offer service records like Carfax doesI told her I would try and get her a Copy of a Carfax from another dealer and did end up getting it but never heard back from herI'd like to note that all cars are sold in less a warranty is boughtWhen buying a USED car there is always unforeseen mechanical issues that can occurWe would be more then happy to work with the customer if she would like to come in and discuss the issues

There are several corrections that need to be made to the owner's response: First of all, I am advocating for my son and was present at the saleI supplied the money for this car and as I was giving it to my son, had the dealer put the ownership in my son's nameThe owner had no problem with my involvement in the repair process as he states in his response, "I explained to the customer's mother this and told her how much I could get part for and how much labor time would b and she okayed the work." Second, I never saw the information included in the inspection reportThe owner looked at it and told me that there was no mention of a problem with the cradle, so he felt that he was uninformed of the issue during the time he sold the carMy reply was that regardless of his depth of knowledge about the condition of the cradle, it is illegal to sell an unsafe vehicle in Illinois and that having the cradle rust through and break within two weeks of the sale was a clear indication that it was unsafe at the time of the saleHe agreed to having the mechanics look at it and he paid to have the cradle replacedThe tires the owner mentions were destroyed when the cradle broke and as such, should have been included in the repairHowever, one of the tires was not the same size as the others and had to be replaced when the car was later alignedI am not seeking recovery of the price of the tire, nor the services needed to prepare the tire/car for the roadI simply feel that the broken right front lower control arm should have been included in the repair as well because all of these problems were related to the initial issue of the cradle breaking days after the saleI do not expect to receive satisfaction from Autos4Less for the $I spent getting the control arm repaired, but I feel it is necessary to inform the public of this incident and correct any misinformation in this communication

On February 27, *** *** bought a USED Ford Freestyle with 108k miles from Autos Less IncAt which time when she bought the car it was in very good mechanical conditionIn December of she contacted me and asked me if I
could get her a Carfax so she could she what service history that had been done on the vehicle thinking the transmission was under some warrantyThat being the first we had ever heard about the situationI did explain to her that I did not have Carfax only Auto check and Auto Check does not offer service records like Carfax doesI told her I would try and get her a Copy of a Carfax from another dealer and did end up getting it but never heard back from herI'd like to note that all cars are sold in less a warranty is boughtWhen buying a USED car there is always unforeseen mechanical issues that can occurWe would be more then happy to work with the customer if she would like to come in and discuss the issues

Response to a complaint #I would first like to note the person making the complaint is not the person we Autos Less sold the chevy cavalier too, it was titled and paid for by another personWe at Autos Less do take pride in offering good cheap and reliable transportation to the
consumerBy doing so we are able to offer cars in all different price ranges to consumers of different budgetsWe also go the extra step by having all the cars we sell inspected by an outside franchise dealer so that it's not our word of the cars condition but rather the word of a replicable auto shopThe customer's mother called in a little over a couple weeks after he had bought the car to let us know that she thought the sub frame also known as cradle had brokeWe told her her she could bring it by one of the shops we work with and have it inspected by one of their techniciansIn the mean time I pulled the inspection for that car and showed it to the customers mother which we both seen and there was no notes or any indication of any problems with the car and explained to her if it wasn't noted there was no way of me knowing about it.I also explained to the customer that her son signed a buyer's guide stating he was aware he was buying a car as is with no warrantiesAfter the shop inspected the car they said everything looked okay other than the sub frame being rusty and breakingI explained to the customer's mother this and told her how much I could get part for and how much labor time would b and she okayed the workThe shop took longer to get the job done so when the car was done I gave the customer's mother a copy of the repair bill and we at Autos Less paid the cost, and paid the cost of one new tire and one used tireWe Autos Less spent roughly $dollars just to keep a happy customer even though they bought a as is car with no warrantyWe advise the customer we would recommend doing an alignment after all the repairs that done and customer picked up carCustomer mother called a week or so later and stated that when took for alignment that they recommended the ball joint be replaced before they could do alignment we advised her she could bring the car back in and let the shop check it back out to make sure that it actually need thatAfter the shop looked at the car they did discover that the car had a little play in the right lower ball joint and advise the customer that they still had the original sub frame also known as cradle with the original ball joint in it that they could put in for $labor or she could buy a brand new ball joint for $and they would put it in for $ laborWould also like to not that all customers that buy cars here at Autos Less the mechanic shop allows them to get the same reduced shop rates as they charge us $hour on all their future repairs and they also get our reduced parts rates with no up chargeWe do our best to keep and make happy customers which I think our reviews show thatThis customers mother wanted Autos Less to pay the bill for a loose ball joint and threatened to leave us bad reviews if we didn'tWe have and did go above and beyond what most dealers would have done just to keep a customer and his other happyWe apologize that his other still felt the need to go this route after all that we have done.*** ***
