Our BMW General Manager called and talked to Mr [redacted] a couple of timesWe are going to review our appraisal process and try to determine what went wrong on this occasion.Unfortunately Mr[redacted] has already bought another car

Ms*** picked up the vehicle on 7/10/2015, she had her rear tires replaced, one was Customer pay, the other was Road Hazard InsuranceMiles out was 66846 The customer came back on Aug 4th with the complaint of vibration will braking in the steering wheel, miles in at 68729 It
was inspected and the front rotors have distortion, caused by hot spots. This has nothing to do with replacing rear tires. The rotor replacement will be the customers responsibility

Called customer and she is bringing her car in today 2-02-BMW wants us to inspect the car again and see if we can come up with a resolution to address her concerns

BMW failed to mention that after I had rear tires doneI came back within weeks for oil change and 65,miles inspection in whihc they changed the oil and my spark plugsI came back again over this past weekend and had to purchase a new batteryBMW has milked me for close to $in a month's timeframe, but they tell me that my car key lets them know when something is wrong with my car. My case with the Revdex.com can be closed and I will proceed with my next course of action

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the...

business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.    My complaint was made in order that anyone who checks Revdex.com complaints would know that we were treated unfairly.  I hope that their review determines and resolves the problem.

9/20/17   Re: [redacted] and her purchase of a 2016 Jaguar XF from Autobahn Motorcars.   To Whom It May Concern, We have been made aware of a complaint filed by [redacted] regarding the appraised value of her 2016 Jaguar XF.    It would seem that Ms. [redacted] feels that her...

vehicle has depreciated too much in the period of time in which she has owned it.   First, I would encourage Ms. [redacted] to seek several other professional opinions on the value of her vehicle.  Perhaps a few other Jaguar dealerships or even one of the CarMax locations in the metroplex?    Being a luxury vehicle, appraised values can vary thousands of dollars from one evaluation to another based on multiple factors.    At the root of her complaint, however, the issue at hand doesn’t seem to center around an individual appraisal but rather an overall value compared to the original MSRP.   So let’s address a few of the facts surrounding her purchase. As she mentioned, the original MSRP of her car – including all factory installed packages- was $70,085.   The invoice of her car was $66,099.60 – and Ms. [redacted] paid $59k for the car.  Nearly $7,000 behind factory invoice and $11,000 off of the original MSRP.   While the vehicle was quite nicely equipped with many factory installed options, the car did not (as Ms. [redacted] said) have $10,000 worth of additional options.  The only options the car had were clearly spelled out on the Vehicle Invoice (which we will include) giving a total MSRP – as previously mentioned - of $70,085.  While I can’t speak on Ms. Brown’s behalf – she does appear to be confusing this issue with something else.   Ms. [redacted] received a discount in excess of 15% off of the original MSRP which was sufficient enough – at the time – for her to purchase the car.   It’s also worth noting that no other Jaguar dealer in the country was offering a discount this substantial.   Our demo program allows us to discount these cars well beyond what our competition is offering.  The car did have roughly 1,000 miles on it – that part is true.  All of the vehicles in our Jaguar demo program will have similar miles.   Ms. [redacted] mentions that she received $28,000 for her 2012 Jaguar XF (in 2016).    This may very well be a fact – but it does fail to mention that she did not receive that amount as a trade-in figure.  Ms. [redacted] retailed her 2012 Jaguar XF to a private party/friend.  A simple fact of this business – and one we’ve never shied away from telling our clients – is that you almost always get more money for your car by selling it yourself than by trading it in.     At the time she sold her 2012 Jaguar XF, the car had a trade-in value in the low $20’s – which Ms. [redacted] also felt was too low.   Ms. [redacted] managed to retail her car at the very top end of the market which worked out very well for her.  Despite losing her tax credits by not trading the vehicle in at the time of her new purchase – she more than compensated for that loss by selling her car for a retail figure.   It’s also worth noting that the 2012 Jaguar XF she retailed to her friend/acquaintance for $28,000 is now worth (according to the latest Manheim Market Report) $16-$17k on trade just over a year later (assuming condition and mileage is consistent with others being currently offered). That’s a loss in value somewhere in the neighborhood of 40% from where Ms. [redacted] retailed it to her friend - to what it’s actually worth if that person were to try and trade it in.    Finally, it’s very important to understand that the bid that Ms. [redacted] was offered from Autobahn on Sept 8th of this year - in the amount of $37,500, amounts to little more than an educated opinion of what we think that the car is worth – versus – what we hope to retail the car for in the open market.   As I mentioned earlier – and I do believe that this point can’t be stressed enough, the importance of getting multiple opinions/appraisals done on any potential trade-in - cannot be overstated.  The factors that can (and often do) go in to an appraisal are far too numerous to list.    Autobahn Motorcars has been at the same location in Fort Worth, Texas for almost 40 years. Owned by the same family with many of the original employees.  That’s a difficult thing to accomplish in any business but in the automobile industry, it’s considerably more difficult.   Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance – and our rating with the Revdex.com clearly shows this fact.    Customers being upset over their appraisal isn’t all that rare in this business, and nobody ever complains that you’ve given them too much for their car.   I’ve never had this type of complaint before, however.  The notion that a new vehicle wasn’t worth what someone paid for it – a year ago – based on how much they’ve had the car appraised for now – is a little baffling.    If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
