The previous visit Mr***'s vehicle was in for was strictly a noise in the suspension area when drivenThere were
no other complaints related to any engine work or reason for us to connect any electrical diagnostic equipmentThe aftermarket system with which Mr*** has installed on his vehicle is extremely cumbersome, restrictive for us to utilize when trying to diagnose a driveability complaint, but beyond that is absoulutely not approved by Mercedes-Benz in any way shape or form, and the integration of this aftermarket system is marginal at best. The only reasonable explanation was that when the aftermarket system shut down the Engine Control Unit at mph, that the factory system reads this as a fault, and records it (thus a Check Engine Light)Mr*** and I have spoken in regards to his concernsHe has an appointment on Monday, August 17, for us to attempt to rectify his check engine lightWe will give it every opportunity to make Mr*** happy at the end of the day

I acknowledge that I have received the paperwork for the title.
I am rejecting the business position because when I purchased the vehicle I was told the only mechanical problem was a vacuum hose needed to be fixed. Being a young female with no knowledge of cars I assumed the owner was being honest in representing the vehicle's mechanical condition otherwise he would not have withheld the obvious mechanical defects with car's exhaust. The subsequent events that occurred have led me to conclude the owner had taken advantage of me and misrepresented the mechanical condition of the car. My reasons are:
1. I was told that I could return the car within 30 days if I was not satisfied and receive a substantial money refund based on the length of time I had the car. It was during this  30 day period that I discovered the car had multiple obvious mechanical problems that, had an inspection been performed prior to the owner making his representation, these defects would have been found and either repaired or made known to me prior to the sale. The fact these defects were not  disclosed to me has caused me to believe the owner misrepresented the condition of the car in order to convince me sign the AS-IS warranty. This is outright deception.
2. The damaged exhaust system and catalytic converter, had the car been inspected by the dealership prior to it making its representation of the vehicle, would have been corrected due to the fact that the exhaust fumes enter the car rather than through the exhaust's tail pipe and cause an unsafe condition and unsafe health condition to me and my children.
3. After I learned from Tire Discounters that the engine problem was not vacuum hose or an O2 sensor, rather it was a rusted out exhaust system with holes drilled into the exhaust pipe and a clogged catalytic converter I called the dealer and informed him of the problem (within the 30 day time frame but was not able to take the car to the dealer until day 33). It was at this point that the owner told she me I was three days late and the As-Is Warranty prevented him from honoring the promise he clearly presented to me at the time of the purchase.

Although I purchased the car with an As-Warranty I was promised by the owner that I could have the car inspected within 30 days of purchase and if there were problems I could return the car and receive a substantial refund. It took 33 days to fully diagnosis the underlying problem with car. This problem was significantly different than the one describe by the owner at the time of the purchase. I agreed to the As-Is warranty based on the promise made by the owner that the only problem was related to a vacuum hose. If the dealer had inspected the vehicle as it represented then it should have known that the problem was not a vacuum hose but the entire exhaust system which was and is an unsafe mechanical problem. I made an effort to return the car but since it three days past the 30 day mark he would not honor his promise. I believe his is taking advantage of me because I am a female. This was my first vehicle purchase and trusted him to be honest. Based on the misrepresentation I believe I should receive the remedy I have requested.
