 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: the owner is incorrect in his response and to consider someone letting his company know what another very reputable company said about his shops work is "[redacted]" is no one anyone should feel is a decent person to take a vehicle to. In response to the other shops work and pa inspection standards.. They did being to light the one feature that was close to needing repaired, they gave the suggestion but also honestly told me it wasn't needed for inspection to pass( that's what an honest company does) I did let them fix the issue aince they were HONEST and gave the legal answer. Not because they told me it would fail. And in response to Autocare in York putting on tires for free.. That was to make up for charging me $2260.00 for missing a warrenty repair that I asked upon inspection of my car the first time being in the shop and they failed to diagnose the right issue even with having the papers in front of him. He felt it would be better to charge and complete that work and then send it to dealer to finish when all along he could have had me send it there from the start. I hope people can just see their own bill and add up how many extras they find! He's definitly all about the money and bill at the end, not the repeat customer. So please visit his shop so you can see all the extra things your car needs! You'll be amazed to get a bill that high

05/11/2015To whom it may concern,in response to this complaint, let me start by stating that [redacted] doesn't even know to whom he spoke with. My name is Larry E[redacted], the owner of Autocare Service Center. I perform all customer contact duties. [redacted] stated he spoke to Steve....

That is absolutely incorrect! I suppose this gentleman should get his story straight. [redacted] did drop off his vehicle at my shop for a vehicle alignment. As per company policy and proper repair protocol, the vehicle was test-driven, and the suspension was thoroughly checked for any failures. A technician cannot perform a proper wheel alignment if the suspension has certain failures. My technician located a failed right front lower ball joint, a left inner tie rod, and a broken left rear swaybar link. Contacted [redacted] with these issues and explained an alignment cannot be performed with a failed ball joint and failed tie rod. The swaybar link is broken, but would not prevent us from being able to align said vehicle. The customer requested an estimate after a long discussion. Apparently, he had the vehicle repaired elsewhere and told me these components were recently replaced. After our discussion, and myself educating the customer how thë suspension operates, he admitted he had his left and right sides confused. I guess that happens, just not to me. I made an estimate and called the customer again. The amount was as the customer stated, $457.92, and that did include all parts, labors, discounts, alignment, etc. The customer declined the : repairs due to financial reasons, I informed the customer immediately that all declined repairs, and their positions, would be on his bill. A bill. That means you owe me money for services rendered. We do not work for free. [redacted] was charged for a basic suspension check, which was professionally performed. He was charged for nothing else. I'm quite sure [redacted] gets paid for every hour he works...so do we!!! The car did have many other needs and as a courtesy also listed them on his bill. like to make the customer aware of all his issues. We, as part of our company policy, do not charge anyone for our courtesy checklist. It's a customer courtesy and takes about 5-10 minutes, I've been doing things this way for about 30 years with no complaints. In summation, we will not be refunding [redacted] any monies. And we wish him the best of luck.Thank You,Larry E

11/20/2014To whom it may concern,In response to this complaint, first let me start by stating that this person doesn't even know the name of my company. That fact in itself shows a lot about the intelligence level of this person. As for the accusations that the services...

were not performed, I have rarely heard anything so ludicrous. A complete Pennsylvania State inspection and emission test was performed. This vehicle passed the emission test, but failed the PA safety inspection. The proper paperwork was filed and the customer was notified with a repair estimate. This greatly irritated the customer that her vehicle failed. In fact, she was so mad that she flipped out when picking up her vehicle and her boyfriend had to calm her down. She could barely sign the credit card receipt. Obviously, this person has some serious mental issues. As for the alignment service, it also was correctly performed and I do possess the proper documentation for said alignment. This person obviously failed to mention that we installed and balanced four tires that she provided at no cost to her. I guess we actually did that correctly since she's not [redacted] about that, All services were performed on 11/13/2014. [redacted] contacted me via telephone on 11/14/2014 demanding a full refund. At that time, she stated she took her vehicle elsewhere and had the Pa inspection performed. She told me that the other facility told her that the vehicle alignment was not correct and not performed, I told her to bring me the vehicle and I would re-check the alignment. She wanted no parts of returning to my facility. She then threatened me that if I didn't provide a full refund, she would smear my company's name on the internet. I informed this person that “blackmail" is not a good tactic and is a felony offense of the Pennsylvania Criminal Code...look it up. As I stated, I possess all required documentation for Services rendered to this person's vehicle. I am requesting to know where the vehicle - was PA inspected, as the inspection is faulty and in violation of the PA Inspection Code. would like to perform my civic duty by notifying the Pennsylvania State Police, Inspection Division, [redacted] was given an opportunity for me to re-check the vehicle for free. The PA inspection is charged whether the vehicle passes or fails, as posted in my office. Therefore, [redacted] is entitled to no refund from my facility. If she does not settle herself, she may be faced with criminal charges or a potential personal lawsuit. And I may contact the Pennsylvania State Police in regards to her faulty PA inspection. But as I stated, I do need to know who inspected this vehicle. If [redacted] does not like these results, she may Contact the local OAO Officer [redacted] at ###-###-####. [redacted] investigates PA safety inspection and emission violations. I'm quite sure he'd be happy to look at [redacted]'s vehicle,LARRY E,  OWNER

Review: I took my car for inspection. The owner, [redacted], tells me my car needs a rack and pinion and two wheel cylinders totaling $800. I took my car to [redacted] in [redacted] and they showed me my rack and checked the cylinders and found nothing was wrong. However, my tires were bad! So [redacted] got two things wrong and missed my tires. I even watched [redacted]'s employee take them off. In addition, this employee was smoking while inspecting my car.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology for wasting my time and making me lose hours at my job. I would also like a refund since I have to get my car re-inspected at [redacted].

Response:

The company charged me about $26.00. I was not told the name of the person who did my actual inspection but I do know [redacted], the owner, assisted in the inspection.

To Whom It May Concern:

This is in response to a complaint filed by [redacted]. **. [redacted] was here on September 21, 2013, with a 2000 Buick Century for a PA inspection and emission service. This vehicle passed the PA emission test performed by [redacted]. However, this vehicle failed the PA safety inspection performed by [redacted]. Both of these people listed are certified by the state of Pennsylvania to perform these services, **. [redacted] was taken into the repair area and shown the failures on her vehicle. At that time, **. [redacted] had no questions concerning these required repairs. An estimate was provided for the customer. I, [redacted] will support the service performed by my employee, [redacted], He has performed literally thousands of these services with absolutely no complaints. Obviously, **. [redacted] didn’t like the repairs found, so she went elsewhere to attain a PA safety sticker. We have all records pertaining to this vehicle as required by Pennsylvania state law and a rejected PA safety inspection has been logged into the inspection journal.

I took the liberty of contacting the PA state inspection representative, the QAO officer, former PA state trooper [redacted]. Trooper [redacted] suggested the customer return the vehicle to Autocare Service Center for a second PA inspection performed by the trooper himself The inspecting mechanic and myself will also be present as witnesses. If the vehicle passes PA safety standards, and the components in question are still on the vehicle, a partial refund will be issued to **, [redacted]. She is only entitled to a partial refund as the PA emission test was also performed and the sticker [redacted] was issued. However, according to Trooper [redacted], if the vehicle fails PA safety standards, be will personally remove the fraudulent sticker from said vehicle and she will be required to repair the failed issues. I personally feel this is a fair idea presented by Trooper [redacted]. He can be contacted at ###-###-####. The customer may also contact Autocare Service Center at ###-###-#### and ask for myself, [redacted].

Thank You,

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

He did NOT take me into the shop to show me my car and he did NOT explain AT ALL why the rack and pinion and wheel cylinders failed and I AM reporting his shop to the Department of Transportation. I do not believe a "former state trooper" has anything to do with state inspection and I refuse to let a "former" anything touch my car. The fact that his employees smoked while performing the inspection AND emissions AND failed me under false pretenses should be enough to show that this person and his employees should not be performing any work as mechanics.

Regards,

Review: The Auto care company for services they did not complete, they charged for a state inspection to only fail it stAtin it needed over $150 in repairs done. I had them complete an alignment from their suggestion to only find out the next shop told me it couldn't have been completed due to how bad it was( next day) I immediately took it to another shop( one that isn't owned and ran by one person) and they passed my vehicle and informed me of the alignment being so far off that it needed fixed, they supported this by showing me the papers from their machine. They did mention the optional issue for state inspection, but let me know it wasn't enough to fail! The manager was rude and hung up on me when I called to ask if he would give the $97 back for the alignment and inspection! What a poor way to run a company,Desired Settlement: A refund for at least the alignment and failed inspection that would have been by state law exceptable
