Thank you for your email.  I have reviewed the accounts noted in the email from Mrs [redacted].  While I can understand her frustration, I can find no record of a divorce nor a filing of legal separation.  She indicated in her email that they are estranged however that does not remove...

liability of a spouse.Should you have any further questions, please let me know.Thank you,

I did not purchase a vehicle so I do not have paperwork.I did receive paperwork from the collection agency and from what I can gather the car was in my Ex-husbands name.  It was reposed from him back in June, possible, 2016.  The date of the tow the car was not in his possession.  He had left for Olympia area in August.  It appears when they reposed the car it wasn't change to someone else's name.  I would hope my ex or whomever the car was reposed from would be able to shed some light.  I have given them his phone number to contact directly.  My name should not be on any vehicle before July 2016.  If it is, it is fraud.

We are writing in response to your consumer complaint filed with the Revdex.com. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your concerns about your experience with Automated Accounts.Automated Accounts has a white hat approach when communicating with a consumer. Our ultimate...

goal is to work with people to help find resolutions on outstanding items. In your complaint you state that Automated Accounts put a garnishment on your wages without notice and wasn't able to dispute or set up a payment arrangement. After reviewing your account, multiple contacts have been made with you over the years. In these conversations, there was no mention of any dispute or payments made to our office. A garnishment was filed and we would like to set up a reasonable arrangement upon completion of that process. During our last conversation a representative relayed when a payment plan could get started.Should you wish to discuss further please contact me at [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
Dear [redacted] i appreciate your time, but like I told your representative, had I known my wages were going to be garnished I would have made payment arrangements immediately, because I cannot live on the amount that I bring home now which is forcing me to make a tough decision on my living and childcare situation. I understand that I was contacted in the past but never about having my wages garnished. Even in the past I didn't have a job when I spoke to your representative.  Your representative even said to me that the letter was undelivered even after verifying that it was sent to the correct mailing address.

Review: I called the company to pay a debt I had no idea I had. I agreed to pay the debt. The amount that was on my credit report. They ended up charging me more than the debt. Unwilling to charge me the amount of debt on my report. So they charged me an amount that I did not agree to. This company in no way should have an A+ rating. Very unprofessional. I was the one that called them. Never received a letter or phone call.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my credit report show this is paid in full and pay the correct amount. They said if I paid the amount on my credit report that it would still show as an open account. I would like a refund and account closed and paid in full on my credit report.

Business

Response:

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

In response to the complaint received from [redacted].

It is correct that Mr. [redacted] phoned our office on April 11, 2013, informing my

staff that he had learned of this account from his credit report. My staff

provided the balance of the account, including the accumulated interest to

date, and information on the original creditor. Mr. [redacted] then asked about

having the account removed from his credit report. It was explained to him that

we do not do that, but if the account were to be paid in full his credit report

would be updated to reflect this, but the account would not be removed. To this

he replied “Interesting, the last collection agency was able to do that for

me.” He offered to settle the account for $100.00, which our office declined

and explained that a settle in full would be reported on his credit report

differently than an account that had been paid in full.

At this point, Mr. [redacted] chose to pay the account in full

using his Visa, confirmation of the payment was emailed to Mr. [redacted] during

the conversation and our office provided the payment confirmation number to him

over the phone. We thanked him and ended the call.

Twelve minutes later Mr. [redacted] called back, angry that he

was charged the paid in full amount of $239.37 when his credit report only

showed $167.85 owing. He stated that he only wanted to pay the principal balance and have the account show as paid in full. In response to this our

office explained that if he were to only pay $167.85 it would be counted as a

payment towards the total balance and the account would still show as owing on

his credit report. He declined to have the payment reversed and demanded to

speak to another supervisor.

He was transferred to another supervisor where he claimed

that he wanted to pay only the principal balance of $167.85, but our office ran

his Visa for the entire balance. Again, we offered to reverse the payment, but

explained that the account would show as an open account on his credit report.

It was explained that credit reports only show the principal balance. Mr.

[redacted] demanded that we accept the principal balance as payment in full and

threatened a Revdex.com complaint along with slandering Automated

Accounts, Inc. wherever he could. Once again, we offered to reverse the payment

and he declined, said “enjoy your vacation, “and hung up.

We have reversed his entire payment, so at this time it

remains unpaid on his credit report. Should Mr. [redacted] choose he may contact

our office and pay it in full, at which time it will be reported to the

credit-reporting agency as such.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This is pretty much blackmail, pay us an extra $70 or it stays on your credit report forever... Really thats the resolution. You know as well as I do if I would have not told them I was buying a house and needed this off my credit report that they would have taken half the debt. To charge me an extra $70 over the debt is wrong and unethical. I called them to pay the debt that I had no idea I had. They have misrepresented the amount I owe, $167 on credit report then charge me $239. This company should not have an A+ rating with the Revdex.com. Now I have to call the company back and pay them again because he decided to refund it??? Is that a resolution to the problem? Far from it. This is really out of control.

Regards,

Business

Response:

It appears Mr [redacted] will not be made happy regarding this issue unless he is allowed to pay less than the amount owed and have the account removed from his credit bureau report. I believe the problem stems from the fact that he was able to convince some other agency he owed that if he paid their account, they would remove it from his report. That issue was addressed in my previous response. This office would be in violation of the FCRA if we were to conduct that type of activity. No misrepresentation took place here. He was provided with the balance owed to date. He agreed to pay that amount. When he complained his payment was not for the amount he had agreed to, his payment was reversed. He has since called again and paid the balance owed.

Review: Automated Accounts purchased an overdue Gym Membership from The Peak Hayden that I used to belong to. I paid the account promptly upon finding out that it was turned over to collections, however they have continued to report that I owe a balance on my Credit Report. I also have disputed the account with the CRAs.Desired Settlement: COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE COLLECTION ACCOUNT OFF OF ALL 3 CRAs

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: I have two closed accounts with this company. On my credit report they are listed as open and active. I have tried to resolve this through the credit bureau but only one of the accounts were corrected. I called automated account to receive information about my account. I asked if they could look at it and see if they every got anything from trans union about the dispute. The man I talked to was extremely rude to me and not willing to help me. I asked if he would be able to send updated information to the credit bureau so it was showing incorrect information and he refused. After that he yelled at me and said he would not talk to me or help me and it was not his problem. I asked for his name and a supervisor and he then hung up on me. I called back and told a supervisor about what happened. He told me to fax in paperwork that showed I have already contacted the credit bureau. I faxed the paperwork in and then called back to see if they received it. They said they could not check it for me until tomorrow.Desired Settlement: I would like the automated accounts to correct the information so it does not show as an open collection or I would like it removed form my credit.

Response:

August 21,2014

Review: My husband has a collections from a visa line that was attached to our joint bank account at a credit union from 3 years ago. Automated Accounts Inc acquired the collections directly from [redacted] in March '12. We did not receive any notice of the account at the time, no validation letter, nothing. When we were turned down for a home loan around Sept 2012, we pulled our credit report to find out what was on it. I called AA inc. for the first time on Oct 8th to request a validation letter on the collections. At this time I had to verbally correct the incorrect mailing address that AA inc had in their records. The first packet of information I acquired from AA in was an itemization cover page, a statement page of the account status, followed by approximately 35 pages copied from originals sent by [redacted] (these pages intailed a cover letter assigning the original visa for collections, bank statements for the entirety of the account, and application papers for the 'Loanliner' account). This was clearly not a validation letter. At this time I noticed the charges were not the amount from the orginal debt, but increased by 35%. This additional amount was listed as 'Other Charges'. I've repeatedly tried to ask for a validation letter, itemization of the 'Other Charges', and reasoning for the additional charges. I made these requests via letter sent by certified mail. I also requested restricted call times which eventually turned to a 'cease to call' order from me due to employee verbal harassment over the state of the account. Automated Accounts has failed to justify the additional 35% tacked onto the account and have made no letter attempts to collect this debt outside of requested information from myself.Desired Settlement: As cosigner of the original bank account the visa was attached to, I want the additional 35% that Automated Accounts Inc. added to the collections to be removed. This amount is listed as 'Other Charges' on the itemization but it was never explained why it was added nor why we should owe it to Automated Accounts. Without a validation letter or justification to these charges within 30 days of original contact, I believe it is not in their right to force collections of this additional 35%.

Business

Response:

Dear Mr [redacted],

Review: I had a number of accounts in collections following emergency surgery. These were discharged in Bankruptcy in June 2010. All but one has been properly reported to the credit bureaus as discharged in bankruptcy, and no longer showing as open account on my credit reports. One collection agency, Automated Accounts of Spokane WA, has not done so. They still report the account as open. When I contacted them by phone, they insisted the only way to get the open status changed was to pay them the amount, even tho it had been discharged. I contacted them in writing a number of times to get this fixed. They have not responded, other than "updating" my credit file to still show the account as open collections, adding to the time it will be reported. Please help me get this corrected to show that this is no longer an open account, but discharged by the bankruptcy. And notify them that telling me to pay a discharged bankruptcy debt it not ok.

They have not responded in a timely fashion to the CFPB efforts to resolve this matter. [Case number: [redacted]]Desired Settlement: Report the discharged debt as discharged, not "open collection" , change company policy to match current laws regarding discharged medical debts, apologize for nastiness -

Dear Sirs:

In response to the complaint received from Mrs. [redacted] and her

expected resolutions.

Mrs. [redacted] was advised to file a consumer dispute with the credit

reporting agencies, (see attached letter dated 02/26/2014) to this date,

Automated Accounts Inc. has not received a formal dispute from the credit

bureaus. Our records indicate that the last phone conversation took place on

03/10/2010 when she informed us about her bankruptcy case.

Early this year She provided a copy of her credit report where it

clearly shows that the above referenced account is listed as discharged via

bankruptcy, Automated accounts does not have a way to report a

"closed" status with the reporting agencies, since the account was

discharged and not paid.

At this time Automated Accounts Inc. has agreed to remove her

file, enclosed please find copy of update form sent to the credit reporting

agencies.

If you have any further question, please contact our office
