The big trouble with these guys will come if they don't get it right the first time and you have to bring the vehicle back for something. They are parts changers and cannot diagnose well at all. My truck's manual transmission made a loud rattling noise after they repaired it. They said it was the clutch, but the clutch had been changed only a couple years prior, and they could not give a reason for why the clutch would make the noise. They started making it personal, saying I told them not to put a new clutch in, when I did not. They said I was wearing out clutches and transmissions, when I have driven them for 40 years without ever wearing one out.

All the lies and distortions were the most disturbing part of dealing with them, and when you try to argue back they get mad and say you are offending them. They said they would only attempt a repair if I agreed to buy a new clutch. I reluctantly agreed. They charged me $800 for $350 worth of parts, covering there costs nicely, so the warranty gained me nothing. They took the maximal amount of time to do this work, stringing me along for 3 full weeks to do 2 days work. The truck was jockeyed around their small lot for 3 weeks and the tread on my rear tires is conspicuously lower, so I fear they were burning off the tires as they moved it around. The interior carpeting is greasy and shifter not put back right. The noise is still there; the clutch had nothing to do with it and the old clutch parts inspect out as good.

They have demonstrated their inability to fix the problem and that they will do all they can to extract money from me to do anything on warranty and make it as difficult for me as possible, so there is no sense taking it back there. I wouldn't want them to do anything to it again even if it is for free.

I've had automatic transmission exchange fix my transmission twice on my 1990 GM Sierra and this would be the third time.I have low low miles in between each time they have replaced it its just a old family truck we can't get rid of, we really don't drive it that often just here and there. The second time it was fixed the job wasn't done right my trucked sounded horrible they apologized and said they forgot to but something on , I was understanding and said cool just make it right, this is gonna be round three with these people, my transmission fluid is full there's something wrong with my tranny, the guy said he could not help they don't stand by there work only there short warranty even if you have only drove your truck 3,000 miles its sad.They don't care about customer service he wants more money to fix he shotty work for the third time, I don't tow or drive long distances with this truck its just bad work save your money and go somewhere don't be a sucker like me.

My transmission problem was identified and resolved, and I was informed every step of the way about the diagnosis, progress and cost. After consulting with a competitor about my transmission problem and being told that the only fix was to replace the transmission, I was extraordinarily pleased that the service technician at ATEI consulted a technical service bulletin and got my issue resolved at a fraction of the cost of replacement. Automatic Trnsmission Exchange has my highest recommendation.

Simply the best in Phoenix, [redacted] & crew are awesome. Did my research before bringing my car in on transmission shops. Highly recommend, the did a complete rebuild two years ago on my Mercury, I have now put on 36K miles and still shifts like the day I purchased it 13 years ago.
