Automax of Greenville, Inc Reviews (1)

This company had us sign an invalid/false contract and refuses to give us our money back.On Friday, March 7, 2014, my husband and I attempted to purchase a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse from AutoMax of Greenville. We signed the paperwork, provided a $2000.00 down payment, agreed to also pay for tax and tags for vehicle which amounted to $500 in two installments of $250 and the service manager [redacted] also signed a "We owe" document stating that they would complete certain repairs on the vehicle like provide tires, flush out all fluids and repair the steering and break systems. I was told by our salesman [redacted] to bring the vehicle back on Wednesday, March 12th to be repaired. On Tuesday, March 11th, [redacted] the service manager called me asking me to read the VIN number off of the vehicle, so I did. He then states that the company does not have this vehicle in their inventory but that I did not have anything to worry about because they will resolve the issue. On Wednesday, March 12th, I brought the vehicle to the dealership to be repaired. They said the vehicle should be repaired by Friday and provided me with a loaner vehicle. On Friday, March 14th, my husband and I called to check on the vehicle, but it still had not been repaired and [redacted] states that he is trying to find out if this vehicle even belongs to their company and where it came from. He reassured us that everything would be resolved by Monday, March 17th and then the vehicle would be repaired. I also switched into a different loaner vehicle and told them that I do not feel comfortable driving any vehicle except the one that belongs to me. On Monday, March 17th my husband and I called to speak with [redacted] several times but had to leave several messages. On Tuesday, March 18th, again we called several times and left messages for [redacted] without a response. We finally spoke with [redacted] on Wednesday, March 19th, he states that everything is almost resolved with the VIN number, that they are talking with the bank [redacted] to get it all straighten out on the paperwork/contracts and the mechanic had to order parts for the vehicle that have not come in yet, and that we would have our vehicle back by Friday, March 21st. On Friday, March 21st, we don't here any update from [redacted] so we call several times and leave messages but he does not call back. On Monday, March 24th, we are still trying to find out what is going on with the car. [redacted] will not answer our calls or call us back. On Tuesday, March 25th, my husband calls the bank that our loan is through for the vehicle, [redacted] and speaks with [redacted] who states that no one from AutoMax has contacted the bank and that they were not aware that there was a problem with the VIN number for the car but he would have it all resolved by the next day, Wednesday. On Wednesday, March 26th, my husband follows up with [redacted] at [redacted] who tells him that the loan/contact is invalid because the VIN number is incorrect and that it was illegal for them to have us sign that contract and nothing has been done to resolve the matter so we can go get our money back and purchase another vehicle. So my husband and [redacted] from [redacted] both contact the dealership to cancel the loan and request our money back. [redacted] is very rude and states that he is unauthorized to do so. When I arrived at the dealership, [redacted] had left and no one was able to help resolve the matter so I jut turned in the loaner. On Thursday, March 27th, I go to the dealership and request my money and [redacted] refused to give the money back. He refuses to contact his boss [redacted]. He is very rude and haughty and states that we have to get a lawyer to get our money back. He states he can call the police and have me removed from premises, so I contacted the police and they say the same thing that this is a civil matter and we would have to take this company to court to get our money back. AutoMax is a crooked company, they have horrible business, customer service and people skills. They should be shut down for the services that don't provide to their customers.Desired SettlementWe would like them to give us back the $2000.00 we have them for the down payment and the $250 that we paid them for tax and tags for vehicle which amounts to a total of $2250.00.
