Review: I was sold a 2000 [redacted] SLS step side and was told the vehicle was in very good condition. Salesman told me it had been checked by a mechanic and every thing was in excellent mechanical condition ...Vehicle was brought home and within a day I saw it was leaking oil. Also I was told the air conditioner was repaired but that also was not working. It does not blow cold air .. By the time I had driven it 4 days I learned the transmission needed bearings replaced and that the engine needs a rear main seal and most likely much more. The truck has been sitting in my shop since the 5th day . The puddle of oil under it is quite large and disgusting. I paid high blue book for this truck . And it isn't even worth that . This dealer lied about this vehicle .Desired Settlement: I don't want to return the truck ... I want this dealer to either repair the truck or give me part of my money back so I can have it repaired my self .

Review: On 6/19/14 purchased a 1997 [redacted] Quest from [redacted] at Automix in Yuba City CA (137 miles) for $2,297. My mechanic had called to inquire on listing for me on [redacted]-Stating that I am a single mom who needs a safe, reliable van for foster care. My mechanic also asked for condition of van including brakes - [redacted] stated everything was in good condition & even offered to pay for my gas for traveling the distance whether I purchased the van or not. I did test drive the van & it drove smooth-I bought the van "as is".I was able to trade in my 1998 [redacted]y for $500 - Which had a cracked frame on both sides & total undercarriage was corroded & was not safe to drive. [redacted] turned around & sold it for $2,950.The next day, the car didn't start, due to a dead battery. Also, upon inspection by my mechanic that day, he found several issues with the vehicle, including: Breaks worn down to 2mm, lower ball joints needed replacement, oil filter service, alignment, oil leaks, timing belt, shocks, air vents in backseat doesn't work, heat doesn't work, and power steering leak. He called [redacted] regarding the breaks and [redacted] offered to pay $400.One week later, the radiator connector (nipple) broke, and I was stranded with six children in the car on a 110 summer day.Needless to say, my repairs were more than I payed for the vehicle. On November 19th 2014, I drove to Auto Mix to talk with [redacted] about making this right. He offered me a different van, wanting me to pay the difference. I declined his "wonderful" offer. He offered to search the auctions for a "quality" van, for me. It has been 2 weeks, and I spoke to him today regarding this matter, and he hung up on me.I am very frustrated and disappointed that a "business man" would take advantage of a single mom who does foster care. Such a lack of integrity in this man, and his "business".Desired Settlement: I would like a reliable, safe van.

Response:

[redacted] purchased a 1997 [redacted] from us on 06/19/2014 “AS IS”. The van was in good condition at the time of the purchase. Then I received a call from her mechanic stating that there were some problems with the van and it needs to be repaired. The mechanic asked if we can assist her with the cost of the repairs. Although the car was sold “AS IS” we agreed to pay for the repairs which totaled $400, considering she’s a single mother in a time of hardship. Then on November 19th 2014 she came to the business claiming there were additional issues with the vehicle. We AGAIN tried to work with Mrs. [redacted] considering her situation and not only offered to assist her in finding another van AND take the van she purchased back, all she would need to do is pay us the difference. She declined the offer because and insisted she did not want to pay another dime. We went out of our way and genuinely tried our absolute best to help Mrs. [redacted] despite the fact that we sold the vehicle “AS IS”. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate contact us at [redacted]. Thank you.
