Automobile Nation Reviews (2)

Hello and thank you for contacting me, *** *** purchased a prior salvage Chevrolet Cruze from Automobile Nation on December 4th, 2017, and I told her it had previous repairI told *** that the airbag light is on because of a seat belt issue, which was the only problem
it currently hadI've never had any other issue with this vehicle, which had previous repair in the left sideAfter purchasing the vehicle, *** had some issues with the vehicle, and I had a General Motors technician repair these issuesI spent roughly $trying to make her happy, not counting the courtesy cars I gave her to drive while her car was getting repairedI personally drove to Bloomington to pick her up and drive her back to the dealership for a courtesy car and spent many hours trying to make her happyChevrolet has many problems with the Cruze model, which is something I cannot controlI also purchased the seat belts for her and was going to have the GM technician install them for her, but she must have have said something to upset him after that and he would no longer have anything to do with her. Automobile Nation always tries to be fair and go out of our way to help a customer, but sometimes we cannot make everyone happyThe used car business can be brutal at times and it is definitely not an easy business. Thank you for your time.Todd *** 3-13-

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/07/23) */
Received business response via e-mail to Revdex.com, including PDF of original purchase contract -- see attached.
Text of e-mail reads as follows:

RE: Case#...

[redacted]
Hi [redacted],
In regards to claim number [redacted], on May 20th, 2015, [redacted] purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu from Automobile Nation. The vehicle was a prior taxi cab with approximately 240,000 miles with a price of $2200. I informed [redacted] that it was a prior taxi cab that was painted from red to black and had high miles. I also informed her that it needs tires and was sold "as is" like any other older vehicle.
[redacted] did inform me the next day that the "check engine" light came on and was running rough. I found the problem and fixed it for her without and charge. [redacted] also called me again and said the car needed suspension work and a repair facility was going to charge her $1400. I told her that we could do the repairs much cheaper. After doing so, she started threatening me with calling the Revdex.com, the State of Minnesota, and telling everyone that Automobile Nation is a horrible car dealership.
I've attached the purchase contract as well. Please let me know that you have received my email.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention and let me know if you have any questions.
Dated July 16th, 2015

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/07/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Automobile Nation sold me this car,and assured me it was safe for my son to drive. It was not and that was one of my main issues. They told me that there were no known issues with the car mechanically. But after I bought the car they tild me that the car was never examined by a mechanic beforet they sold it to me. Information that should have been disclosed in all fairness before I bought the car. Especially since I asked about repair records and such and he said none were avaiable.
They repeatedly assured me the car was safe to drive and encouraged us to do so. They shouldn't have made those assurances being that the car had not been inspected by a mechanic and they had no idea what condition the car was in mechanically. I was blatantly lied to about the condition ofthis car. And because of this,I feel I should receive a refund.
Automobile Nation did offer to help me repair the car at reduced cost, but did not state what that would be compared to my 1400.00 estimate on repairs.I told them when I bought the car that we had limited funds, and it will take us several months as it is ti come up with more money to repair the car even at a reduced rate. Being that they told methere were no known mechanical issues with this car,and they had no way of knowing that, I feel its only fair that they cover the repairs. I would like a refund on this car,or I would like them to repair the issues .Not at reduced cost but fully. After buying this car under false pretenses I have no funds left to make repairs. When I bought the car I also told them if we were buying a car with repair issues I was fine with that provided I was made aware of what they were and the cost involved. They led me to believe that the only thing it needed was new tires. But it has become new tires and 1400.00 in repairs.
I am only asking them to do the right thing and make this equitable. The car they presented was not what they sold to me.
