On December 1, 2015, a 100% refund in the amount of $399.00 was issued to [redacted]'s mother's ([redacted]) Discover credit card account.
Review: My 84 year old mom has a 2000 Mercury Sable LS that has fewer than 50,000 miles on it. This business contacted her about getting a warranty for the vehicle. Because of her age, and the year of the car, I told her to cancel the policy because she does not use it enough to warrant having a warranty. She called to cancel on Nov. 16th, and [redacted] said "No I don't think so." When I called back, Ian said he would cancel it and the cancellation department would call within 2 days to verify cancellation. They never called. My mother called again on Nov. 23rd, and got a lady named [redacted] Not only was she not helpful, but said they still would not cancel the policy. I called and talked to Cindy again, and asked how much the deposit had been. She responded "Oh my God, ma'am..You don't remember how much your deposit was?", in a very rude way. She claimed she canceled at 4:41PM and there would be a credit to my mothers account within 30 days. I don't appreciate this company's way of handling this matter. My mother should have never been bullied to cancel a policy. It is her right to cancel at her discretion.Desired Settlement: I want to know that they will credit my mothers account. I want to let them know that the way they handled the situation was not appreciated. I also want them to learn a lesson in customer service. Respect your elders. Taking advantage of elderly people is seriously frowned upon and they should be ashamed for acting this way.
