I am rejecting this response because: I did come back to this repair place times and I was told to drive the car more and change my oilThis owner is lying about the Tire Iron Comment because he threatened me first and then I responded that I had a Gun in my car to protect myselfThe parts that I put on his desk while he had potential new clients in his waiting area is what made him madHis Mechanic could not remember replacing my parts , however his mechanic did remember taking the wrong bolt off of somethingThe $that this mechanic charged me was for new parts of which no one can findMy car runs Great now that Toms Autohouse fixed my problemAutomotive Solutions needs to take some customer service and anger management classesI am not sure how he can be in business treating his clients like he treated meI am still debating weather I will take him to small claims court for the $charge for parts and work that was obviously never doneI took my car back to him minutes after I drove off and also I took it to him at his new locationWhy would a client need to continue to take their car to an establishment who can not fix the problemHis frame of thought and explanation is oddI am happy now with the Other Mechanic who has me driving safelyAuto Solutions just needs to hire more experienced Mechanics and get a new owner who does not lie and badger his long time clients over a measily $jobThe excuses that this owner makes must explain why he moves so much and also why he must need my $so much that he had to threaten me in his shop in order to keep the $$$

To whom it may concern, [redacted] , who has been a customer of ours for a few years now came back in March of 2017 and we replaced 1 cam position sensor and 1 crank position sensor. He came in again on may 19th more or less and set a couple of cam and crank sensors on my desk that were old and stated... that they had come out of his vehicle, that we had never replaced them. Having not seen them on the car, this did make us somewhat suspicious, if he had had a problem why hadn't he come to us to correct the issue. Our invoice clearly states "warranty work must be done at automotive solutions" besides the fact that he had been a customer of ours for some while and knew full well if there was an issue we would correct it. Instead he came in with a couple of old sensors and said we did never replace them. If he had come to us originally this would never have come to this. I pulled the invoice and showed the customer the receipts for which we had purchased his cam and crank sensors and even called my sales rep with the company to verify with the customer present that they had been purchased and never returned. The conversation turned to accusation and became out of control in which the customer stated that "I got a gun in my car" at that point he was already calling the police. I never heard anything about a tire iron but the situation did get out of hand. I do NOT charge people for parts that are not installed on vehicles! I AM insulted that I would be accused as such. Thank You -- Automotive Solutions

We did not give the OK for any other repairs besides the timing because we knew we could not afford itAnd yes we had $and yes we did by a motorcycle but that was before we were asked to pay such a ridiculous amount for work that was not authorisedAnd there were no bolts missing everything was there it was in a zip lock under the hood and we told them thisAnd now they're saying things that is a lie and we were the ones that called the police before they did

The repair was done quickly and efficiently The underling problem appears to be a financial issue with the customer and his girlfriend The Owner of the Vehicle complained of an ongoing problem, at which the car had been taken to multiple other shops with no end result The owner
of the vehicle was assured that the Master Tech is experienced, and skilled, and would most likely be able to fix the problem The vehicle was then dropped off We charged one hour for testing and inspection, a very typical charge in the automotive industry The repair itself only took one hour with no parts. The costumer's girlfriend then calls and complains about the cost of the repair and requested a refund She stated that the money was suppose to go to HER vehicle for repairs, not his It would appear to be a financial miscommunication between the two of them, having our shop pay the price It seemed as a ploy in taking advantage of the business to get work done for free

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/17) */
I think this is in regards to a jeep but I did not deal with the person aforementioned unless the name has changedI did have a jeep at the shop in September of last year but I did not rebuild the engine, I replaced the engine with a
year old used engine that the customer supplied, unfortunately it had a blown head gasket on installation which of course I couldn't have known until it had been installedWith that news I reached out to the company that had sold the customer the engine and fought vehemently for them to take care of the issue which did take some time, but I got that company to pay for the head gasket repair on the vehicle so the customer would not have to come out of pocket moreWhich had I not the customer certainly would have been responsible because I DO NOT WARRANTY PARTS I DO NOT PURCHASE! But this is what I get for trying to help peopleanyway they designed this engine with two different water pump setup one on a v-belt and one on a serpentine so there was some issue there I apologize for that but the contract that everyone signs when they drop off a car at my shop clearly reads that I am also not responsible for the availability of partsThis is a twenty five year old vehicle not everything parts wise for this vehicle is sitting on the shelfSorryNothing I can do about itSo here we are nine months later and I get a call from the customers wife "***" who states quite irrationally that the water pump is leakingok, not a big deal, I don't build water pumps I purchase them but I did purchase this water pump for the customer so I will gladly warranty it outUnfortunately once again this is a twenty five year old vehicle parts are not quite as accessible as we would like but I'm sorry there is nothing I can do about the availability of parts I do not manufacture partsThe customers wife had asked that I cover the $to her tow company to take her vehicle the rest of the way to the shop she stated that she could not afford it at the time I said ok under the condition that when the vehicle was picked up I was returned the $she stated that this was fineWhen the vehicle was retrieved by a woman I had never met before she had stated to me that there was an oil leak, but this only at the very moment the vehicle was picked upWhich she had also stated was a result of a valve cover that the customer had previously purchased from O'reilly that we had pr4eviously warrantied out for the customer for freeIf the customer wants me to address the leak they may bring it back and I will

The issue was not a financial concern between my fiance and I. However, it was an issue based on us reviewing the charges, and wondering why we were charged for a repair when it was not authorized. It should be known that both employees at this business admitted that it was their miscommunication with us, thinking that because I asked them to take a look at the issue I was having, that it was authorization to do work on the vehicle, which it was not. This is not a "ploy" to take advantage of the company financially. My fiance expressed that she was very frustrated with the way the situation was handled, and that we would like a partial refund, as we never authorized any work to be done to the vehicle. She expressed that we did not plan to spend $150 on a non-essential repair in order to pass inspection. She had simply said if we were informed the repair for a non-essential issue would cost us $150, we would have declined, and just authorized the $12.50 inspection to be done on the vehicle. She was informing the owner that if we were going to spend $150, we would have allocated it toward more essential repairs that need to be done to her vehicle, not something like a rattle on the exhaust of a vehicle that I have out only a few months of the year. It should also be known that I did not just take my vehicle to several shops recently for the rattling of my exhaust. I purchased my vehicle in 2013, and noticed the rattling later that year before putting it in the garage for the winter. In 2014 when I had a rear view back-up cam installed, I had one shop just see if they noticed the rattling, as they were also doing inspection. They took a look and couldn't diagnose it, I was not overly concerned. I also had another shop take a look at it when I had some mandatory work to be done in 2015 upon inspection. The mechanic that did the other repairs said he adjusted something that he thought might be the case, but alas it was not. Again, I drove my vehicle around with the occasional rattle of the exhaust for a year, and was just curious if the shop could diagnose the problem. It was not something that was extremely important to be done to the vehicle. I am no longer seeking compensation for what was done, simply an apology. Clearly this company is dishonest and unwilling to right their wrongs. Even when they admitted over the phone it was a miscommunication error on THEIR part. We will no longer be doing business with Automotive Solutions, and as long as they refuse to issue a formal apology to us for their error, I think it is only fair that our friends and family are well-informed on the dishonesty and lack of integrity this business has.

Outstanding shop with outstanding honest mechanics. Customer service is second to none. I have taken 2 different vehicles to these guys and every time it's fixed right the first time at an affordable price. [redacted] not be taking my excursion or any other future vehicle anywhere else!!!

I am rejecting this response because: I did come back to this repair place 2 times and I was told to drive the car more and change my oil. This owner is lying about the Tire Iron Comment because he threatened me first and then I responded that I had a Gun in my car to protect myself. The parts that I put on his desk while he had potential new clients in his waiting area is what made him mad. His Mechanic could not remember replacing my parts , however his mechanic did remember taking the wrong bolt off of something. The $300 that this mechanic charged me was for new parts of which no one can find. My car runs Great now that Toms Autohouse fixed my problem. Automotive Solutions needs to take some customer service and anger management classes. I am not sure how he can be in business treating his clients like he treated me. I am still debating weather I will take him to small claims court for the $300 charge for parts and work that was obviously never done. I took my car back to him 5 minutes after I drove off and also I took it to him at his new location. Why would a client need to continue to take their car to an establishment who can not fix the problem. His frame of thought and explanation is odd. I am happy now with the Other Mechanic who has me driving safely. Auto Solutions just needs to hire more experienced Mechanics and get a new owner who does not lie and badger his long time clients over a measily $300 job... The excuses that this owner makes must explain why he moves so much and also why he must need my $300 so much that he had to threaten me in his shop in order to keep the $$$

When the vehicle originally was towed in the customer, which was a lady named [redacted], told us that she needed the timing reset, we obliged. It turned out the vehicle was electronically timed and timing could not be reset so I spoke with [redacted] let her know it could not re-timed and passed on the technicians recommendation which was to open the timing cover and see whats going on inside and replace the belt I quoted 297.50 in labor and a $30 belt. She approved and we opened up the timing cover. we found that a piece of the cam timing gear was broken off and the belt was loose about two teeth off. The crank pulley was loose, there was bolts missing from the water pump. Someone who did not know what they were doing had attempted to repair the vehicle. We later found that this was possibly the boyfriend. What was found in the timing cover would obviously explain why the car was towed in, barely ran, and when it did seemed like it was running on two cylinders. So we called the customer [redacted] let her know that the cam gear was broken and the belt was off two teeth. I quoted her another $40 for the cam gear and another $42 or so in labor to replace it. She agreed. Which is documented on her receipt. We struggled to get the cam gear off and were fearful of snapping the bolt to the cam gear, I informed the customer and in the meantime the technician was able to get the bolt off successfully without doing any damage. So repairs commenced we put the cam gear and the timing belt on and the car ran as it should. When the customer was called to pick up the vehicle I was told that "We didn't think you could get the cam gear off so we bought a motorcycle instead." It was made very clear that she was not going to pay for approved repairs. So we put a lien sale on the vehicle after it sat for awhile. When the customer did show up for the vehicle after telling me that they were going to come pick up the vehicle "and I'm not giving you [redacted]" the police had to be called because of the lewd, obscene behavior in front of my establishment. The customers boyfriend had come to a restricted area of my shop and was yelling obscenities, he threatened to smash into other vehicles at my shop in order to retrieve the vehicle. The police came, spoke with the customer and spoke with myself, after listening to both sides they said that the customer ought to pay for the approved repairs and take their vehicle. So they did. The mother of I believe the boyfriend payed for the vehicle and it drove out of the shop. Running quite well I might add. Considering that the vehicle came in on a tow truck not running and left running well. The less than $400 they paid for approved repairs is more than appropriate. If they did not think the amount was appropriate they should not have approved repairs. We do not do repairs people do not approve.

I am sorry for the circumstances around the situation. When we repaired the vehicle he needed a replacement HVAC controller since the part is obsolete from Nissan I discussed with them the only option I had which was used, this is of course why...

I had to keep the car for some 5 days. It was explained extensively with the customer Im sorry he did not understand. When the vehicle left the hvac system was working. When the customer called about a week two weeks later he stated that I had put the wrong part in his car. I had asked him to bring the car down, nothing I can do over the phone, he said ok and came down the next day. When he came down however he unfortunately had the same attitude and came into the office in front of my other customers essentially trying to slander me "You put the wrong part in my car! There was much discussion and he opted to take the car. He can still get his money back for the part or have it warrantied out by me. I called him on the phone shortly after this had happened, and explained this. He stated that it was not worth it hung up the phone and here we are.

Review: I have a [redacted] that broke down 10/14/15. I had it towed to the VW dealership to get a diagnostic done. the cost would have cost me around 5k to get fixed. a few of my co-workers and friends recommended a mechanic out of Petersburg VA. they said he was really good, has his own shop and has been working on their vehicles for years. Tank, which is the name he goes by, agreed to being able to properly fix my vehicle. he stated he had a [redacted] as well and works on his when needed. on 11/5/15 I gave him $650 to purchase a refurbished engine for my car, due to the heads being blown in the original one. On 11/18/15, he told me my car was ready. I paid him $1308 plus I gave him a $80 tip for meeting me half way with my car. before I could get my vehicle home, it stopped working. It cut off while we were driving it. I had to have it towed back to the shop were it is now to this day. I spoke with him back in January of this year. he then agreed to exchange the refurbished engine, however, I called to see if he has done so but he has not answered the phone nor has he returned my calls. I live in NC but work in VA so its been a hassle. I have had several people, that live in NC, try to contact him on my behalf but he had not answered their calls either. however, I had my brother call, whom lives in VA, and finally he answers. he told my brother he does not know how to fix my car and that he took it to the dealership. he said I would have to get it from there. I called the dealership. the dealership said my car has not been there since Oct last yr. I had to contact the authorities to find out what can I do to get this resolved. I was told to go and verify if in fact my vehicle was at the mechanic's and it was,of course still not fixed. the owner was not there either. to this day he has not tried to contact me to have this issue resolved. I had to go and purchase another vehicle. I am paying on a loan with no car and he still has the money I paid him. I am seeking advice on what to do next.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund, my car, plus damages if at all possible. I have paid over $1k in rental fees, I had to purchase a car that cost nearly $2k and ive given him $2k in cash.
