Sent: Thursday, July 16, 2015 11:00 AM[redacted]Subject: Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted] Mr. [redacted] Regarding Mr. [redacted]’s reply to our response; Mr. [redacted] was never told that he would receive a New Transmission, because there is no such thing as a new transmission available for a 2002 [redacted]. There are only three choices for that year vehicle; 1.) Repair and rebuild 2.) A Used Transmission with a 12/12 warranty 3.) Remanufactured with a 36/100 warranty Based on the warranty available Mr. [redacted] chose the Remanufactured. Again, we do not feel that we owe Mr. [redacted] anything else, he was provided a discounted price and we preformed our services in good faith. Also, I have attached the original quotes that Mr. [redacted] received from us and it clearly says remanufactured on the quote sheet. Bill [redacted] General Manager AutoNation Chevrolet Gulf Freeway 13800 Gulf Freeway Houston, Tx 77034 281-481-6680 Excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude.
Mr. [redacted] came to the dealership with a transmission problem and clearly stated to the Service Writer that he had no reverse rear and forward gears were very sluggish. Our transmission tech drove the vehicle and because of the age and the mileage (2002 [redacted] with 182,480...
miles) he felt that the transmission should be replaced. We offered to tear down the transmission for Mr. [redacted] but he declined because he did not to pay the additional labor time to pay the Tech. Mr. [redacted] was offered three options, 1. a used transmission replacement with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty for $2700.00 or 2. a remanufactured transmission with a 36 month/100,000 mile warranty for $3131.81(please note that GM does not sell brand new transmissions for 2002 Suburbans). 3. Mr. [redacted] was also given the option of tearing his current transmission down and rebuilding it, but parts and labor would have exceeded the cost of the first two options. Mr. [redacted] vehicle was repaired and he was given an additional discount from the original quoted price of $3131.81 to $2957.09. When we replace a transmission, we figure the core in the price to the customer, if the customer states that he wanted to keep the core, the job would be figured at a higher cost to the customer and we send the core back for the credit. Mr. [redacted] never requested the core and we figured his price based on us retaining the core. if Mr. [redacted] would like his core, we would be glad to sell it back to him. We feel that we not only provided the service that Mr. [redacted] requested, but we also provided Mr. [redacted] the goodwill of an aditional discount to our quoted price that he agreed to. We do not feel that Mr. [redacted] is owed anything else.Bill [redacted]General ManagerAutoNation Chevrolet Gulf Freeway P.S. Mr. [redacted] over heard two Service Writers working on a customer charge, one was in training and was being taught how to properly charge out a customer ticket.
