Review: I bought a 2006 ford f-250 diesel 4x4 from this auto dealer and they sold me this truck knowing that it needed $5000.00 worth of repairs done to it at the time I bought this truck I was unaware that it needed these repairs until I drove it for awhile. Eventually the engine problems got so bad that I had to have the truck towed. First I towed it to a repair shop of my choice then after talking to autonation dealership where I bought it from I had it towed to their shop because they said they would help me out with repair. The truck sat there for three days and they gave no estimate on repairs or any repair work they didn't even offer to pay for the tow. The only estimate of cost they would give me is 25 hours of labor at $75 an hour just figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. However they did give data from the trucks OBD computer which states that the service engine and misfire codes where active and set 40 miles before I bought this truck from them which means to me that they sold me this truck knowing it needed engine repairs. After all this I towed the truck back my shop had it repaired paid for it and took the repair paperwork to them and all they offered me was $500 to help with repairs which they never paidThank you and any help is appriciated. Product_Or_Service: 2006 ford diesel truck

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I would like cost of repairs paid for or at least a portion ofOriginal repair would have cost them approx $3800 the repair cost me $5079 because the problem worsened as I drove it so I believe they should be responsible for the cost of the original repair which is approx $3800 for EGR and oil cooler repairs

Business' Initial Response

Mr [redacted] purchased a used Ford Diesel from our Fiat location. Within a week he called my sales manager and stated that he had an engine service light on. My manager told him to bring the truck to us immediately and we would have it looked at. Mr [redacted] ignored our request and continued to drive the truck for 10 days and over 1600 miles!! This procrastination is what damaged the engine in the truck! After he caused additional damage, he took the truck to another repair facitlity, had the repairs made, and THEN called me to demand reimbursement. If he would have made contact with me prior, we would have a completely different outcome.

Although he purchased an AS_IS vehicle and signed numerous forms stating as such, including a due bill that states there was NOTHING PROMISED OR IMPLIED, and the fact that my store is not liable for ANY repair bills, I am still inclined to help him with his repair costs.

WE take customer service very seriously and do everything within reason to ensure it!!But, I do not respond well to threats and childish insults!!!

Mr [redacted] needs to make contact with me, the

General Manager at the store to discuss my desire to help.

Consumer's Final Response

The general manager of auto west contacted me and offered to pay half of my repair bill the amount of $2500 which completely satisfies when the money is in my hand

Review: On June 30, 2014 my daughter attempted to buy a used Nissan Maxima from this dealership. She had financing pre-approved from Schools Financial Credit Union. After writing a contract for $9895 inclusive,Schools approved a loan of up to $9035. The dealership insisted that she put $500 down. When she agreed, they would not accept that and instead demanded that her father apply for a loan. They never explained why they wouldn't accept her credit union financing and insisted on financing through one of their own sources. They told her father that "his credit was good enough to secure the loan". We believe they ran his FICO credit score without his permission. We refused to participate and left the dealership with no car.Desired Settlement: We would like open disclosure about how many times credit scores were requested, and who they belonged to. We want to receive all paperwork generated in this transaction. We want to purchase the car for $9035 all inclusive. We want a letter of apology stating that we were lied to and our daughter was treated disrespectfully.

Review: On November 8th 2015 I drove from Berkeley to Roseville to lease a Fiat 500e based on a quote I negotiated over email. Naturally, the sales team tried to raise the settled price on 3 different accounts, but I stayed firm sticking with the $154/month lease quote.

I was then introduced to the studio (dealership) financing manager [redacted].

[redacted] sold me an additional 'Wear & Tear Protection Plan' that would raise my monthly payments to $181 per month. [redacted] explained that the additional protection covers the car Return Fee ($495) and covers a potential Loss of Key ($230).

When I asked why both items were not mentioned in neither the brochure he provided nor the small print on the document to sign -- [redacted] explained that a full document will later arrive in my mail. The deal sounded fair so I signed it.

Nothing ever arrived in the mail and when I called the insurance company "[redacted]" , they confirmed that both items [redacted] over sold me were NOT covered by the additional Wear and Tear Protection plan.

[redacted] never return any call or email I sent since:

The salesperson who I dealt with continued kindly to assure me he's going to get [redacted] to return my calls, but to no avail.

The dealership/studio manager - [redacted] - also seem to be covering up for [redacted].

[redacted] has answered my emails formally, avoiding to put any detail in writing. [redacted] was more open on the phone, saying he is sorry about my experience and that he'll talk to [redacted] making sure such over sales would not happen again. However, [redacted] said that the studio will not rewrite my contract to exclude the extra 'W&T protection'.

I wrote '[redacted]' to cancel the fraudulently sold protection plan, which they did. [redacted] credited the $830 plan sum to the Lease lien holder '[redacted] Auto Payments' ("[redacted]" Auto Lease Ltd.).

However, when I call [redacted] they tell me that they can't change my signed lease.Desired Settlement: The dealership ('Studio') needs to stop the fraudulent practice of of jacking up lease monthly payments.

Even after a check is being sent to the lease-holder to lower the total amount owed, the monthly payments remain artificially higher (in my case $181 rather $154/month).

I'd like to rewrite the lease to exclude the fraudulently sold extra coverage in order to lower my monthly payment amount, please.

Thank you,

[redacted].
