I've already called the dealership and Honda Finance Headquarters at least 3 times with no response, apology, or explanation as to the "shady" practices the dealership does.

Honda has not refunded our deposit for a car we decided not to buy in September and never gets back to us about the refundWe met with [redacted] from Autopark Honda on 9/14 about leasing a Honda Civic. We put down a refundable deposit to hold a car, but chose to lease a Chevy instead. We called as soon as we chose the other car and told them we were going another direction, and they told us the deposit would be refunded. We realized it was never refunded and the sales manager kept giving us the run around and would tell us the sales office would have to deal with it on monday. 2 1/2 months later, we still have not been refunded our money, depsite calls and now disputing with our credit card companyDesired Settlement$500 plus interest Business Response /[redacted]/we could not find a customer in our system with that last name however did trace by phone number to a different customer name as deposit was placed under another persons name...customer is suppose to be bringing credit card by so we can credit amount back to card this weekConsumer Response /[redacted]/This does not answer the question of why we were never refunded as soon as we decided not to purchase a Honda. My husband had to call back multiple times to get any answers - no one ever called us back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT ON A CAR HERE!

My late father, [redacted] was the victim of elder financial exploitation by this dealership and defrauded of over $12,000.In December, 2013, my late father, [redacted] a 74-year-old retiree with a history of dementia, brought his 2010 Honda Accord to have the clutch repaired because it was not working properly. My father later told me that he met with a salesperson named [redacted] and was told by the dealership that it would cost thousands of dollars to repair his car, but that they could give him a deal on a new car. At the time, his existing 2010 Honda had very low mileage and was in excellent condition. The trade-in value, according to comparable trade-ins in that area, was approximately $12,000-$13,000. He apparently still owed about $11,000 on that vehicle. Nevertheless, Mr. [redacted] convinced him to purchase a 2014 Honda Accord, which has a sticker price of $21,000. Despite the MSRP and the fact that he was trading in a car that was in excellent condition, my father emerged from the dealership with a new auto loan of nearly $30,000.According to the bill of sale, Auto Park Honda lowballed him significantly on the older vehicle by offering him only $10,000 instead of its actual trade-in value of $12,000-$13,000, which left him still owing $1,000. Additionally, the sale price of the 2014 model was listed on the contract as $23,000, which was inexplicably $2,000 more than the MSRP of $21,000. Already, Auto Park Honda and [redacted] defrauded my dad of approximately $5,000. But the theft continued. The dealership also tacked on another $6,600 in unnecessary extra warranties and coverage, including wheel and tire protection and emergency vehicle response, despite the fact that this was a brand-new car with a 3-year warranty and my dad had AAA coverage, together with auto insurance. Thus, the Honda dealership fraudulently induced him to finance nearly $12,000 more-50% of the total value of the new car-than the car was even worth, through misrepresentation of the values of the two vehicles and thousands more in unnecessary additional coverage, which my father relied on to his (and now his estate's) obvious detriment. The Honda dealership demonstrated further egregious conduct toward me when I attempted to discuss it with them after my father's passing. Mr. [redacted] initially revealed over the phone that the total purchase price was $24,000 and asked me to come to the dealership to pick up a copy of the contract. When I arrived the following day, he refused to discuss it with me. Instead, I was referred to a business manager named [redacted] who was shockingly rude, hostile, and uncooperative as soon as he realized that I was aware of what his dealership had done to my father.I am therefore compelled to report this blatant and outrageous example of consumer fraud and elder exploitation in the hope of saving others from such shameful and unethical mistreatment. I am also seeking resolution of this matter that will adequately and equitably redress the harm caused by the fraudulent and improper conduct by this Honda dealership. Desired SettlementI may consider settlement consisting of a waiver of deficiency/forgiveness of the loan balance in exchange for the return of the vehicle.Business Response /[redacted]/Mr [redacted] purchased a 2014 base model accord lx from us on 12 dec 2014 he paid 22745 which is the msrp with nothing added to it at all we also gave him 10250 for his 4 yr old honda. We present every customer with a menu of choices in the business office which they can choose and he picked and signed off on service plan, tire, simonize, ding shield, key and gap (no money down) which totaled 5118.00 and he was financed at a rate of 1.99%. All of these additional products except simonize all could have been cancelled and still can be. Mr. [redacted] had no blocks on his credit report and had another car jointly financed on 10/13. Ms. [redacted] indicates in her complaint that her father told her he had purchased a new vehicle however no contact was made at that time to try to cancel any of the products or make any complaints. We cannot just give out customers information with out the proper request/permission.As you can see from the above figures nothing was hidden or sold for above MSRPConsumer Response /[redacted]/The MSRP on a 2014 Accord LX is $21,955 at most, so the dealer overcharged nearly $1000 right there. His trade in was worth at least $13,000, so that is another $3,000 the dealer ripped him off on. Simoniz and ding shield are the exact same thing, so he was double-charged $700. None of the other things were necessary because he had insurance and AAA. The dealer has admitted to the overcharges and low-ball trade-in. This is blatant fraud and abuse of the elderly. As I stated in my complaint, I may consider a waiver of deficiency/forgiveness of the loan balance in exchange for the return of the vehicle.Final Business Response /[redacted]/the msrp is 21995 plus 790 destination charge as can be seen right on the window sticker from honda....from american honda website "1 MSRP excluding tax, license, registration, $790.00 destination charge and options......so we did not charge over msrp and never do. simionze and ding shield are not the same simonize is paint and interior protection and ding shield is for removal of parking lot dings and the customer choose the other products which have features much different than aaa has such as tire and wheel REPLACEMENT. we gave a fair price on the trade in based on autotrader marketplace which is the only online service that will guarantee the value of a trade. we did not over charge at all and never admitted such as it is just not true just like all the other "facts" she keeps stating wrongFinal Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)There is no proposed resolution, only repeated denials of what is patently evident and documented.
