Autos Direct Downtown Reviews (3)

Review: I purchased a pre-owned [redacted] from Autos Direct Downtown in Fredericksburg, VA for $4000. I am a young buyer with very little automotive knowledge. The vehicle I bought had a very recent Virginia State Inspection sticker on the windshield. Having owned and driven auto's in the state of VA I understand the Safety Inspection process and know the tires, brakes, steering/suspension, lights, wipers etc must all be operational in order to legally pass inspection. Unfortunately because of work and financial issues along with the distance of the point of sale to the auto repair shop I know and trust I was not able to bring the car in to be checked out until after the sale. I was Horrified to learn that the car would need over $5400 of repairs just to be safe to drive and be able to pass a Legitimate VA Safety Inspection next April when it is due again. I was sold an unsafe vehicle (the airbags don't even work!) that just "passed" a VA safety inspection. How can this be allowed by a licensed business? My father and I have contacted the dealer and spoke with Haseez Sharifi who sold me the car. I have taken the car back to Haseez and asked if he will make any repairs or just buy the car back from me. I told him if he could just give me $3000 back they could keep the $1000 for their trouble. I do not have money for a lawyer. Do I have any recourse here?Desired Settlement: I would like them to buy the car back from me at a discounted rate.

Revdex.com CASE # [redacted]To Whom It May Concern:The vehicle was offered for sale at $4995.00 however the

General Manager at our store gave the customer a $1000.00 discount to replace

the timing belt and water pump which were the only concerns the customer had.

Upon the discount, she walked out extremely happy and even wrote a nice review

in our customer book. Such document can be provided upon request. She had a

balance of $399 left on her account and she couldn’t pay it as promised so we

extended the time for her to come up with the money. We had a State Inspection that had passed on the vehicle at the time of the sale. All of

our inspections are done at a very large corporation that is not in any way

affiliated with Autos Direct. They will not risk their business just to help us

out. (such report can be furnished upon request) Customer states she’s not much

knowledgeable about the automotive industry because she’s a young buyer. On July 9, 2015 customer was almost 22 years

old as well as she came with someone else to purchase the vehicle. We did not

sale to a minor under the age of 18. The car was sold on July 9, 2015 but she

stopped by the store at the end of September which is 2 ½ months after her purchase asking

that if she can return the car back and that she’s now having issues with the

vehicle. We never heard her complaint prior

to this date. The car is a 2004 with 152,000 miles so anything could happen to

such a car. This car was sold to her AS IS and her complaint came 2 ½ months later

after she purchased the vehicle therefore we sincerely do apologize but we

cannot take this vehicle back. Also the car is a [redacted] and not a 2003.Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I put down 1400.00 on a car and he car passed inspection. I still have my paper work. I got the car may 12 2015 and on June 11 2025 I made my first car payment a day early. I asked for my hard tags and they weren't trying to give it to me. they continued to ask me for an extra payment befor the month of July which is actually when my next payment is due... I recently received a call from a lady named Sophia who happens to work there she issued me my 2nd temp tags and told me I needed to pay another 191.00 befor she can give me my tags.. I do have everything recorded .. she called Me Abt a week ago asking meif I could take my car to get emissions checked before she issuesme my tags ..she said she won't be able to give them to me untill I give her paper work stating my emission were a success. I called around and I was told that emissions are not done in the stateof Virginia... that's why they do inspections. My car once again passed inspection and now it's goin on the second month and I still don't have my hard tags. My next payment is July 11 2015..I definitely would like to stop making payments on a car that I had to put money into do to them telling me the only problem with the car was a ball joint that was needed and I purchased the ball joint and they installed wrong according to my mechanic... If someone could get back intouch with me as soon as possible I'd greatly appreciate that. And thank you.Desired Settlement: I just want my tags .. it seems like it's always a problem with this dealership and if I needed my emissions done why didn't she tell me befor I paid money for the car why wait a whole 2months and then call me and tell me. Something just seems fishy About that dealership

RE: Case # [redacted]/Autos Direct Downtown/[redacted]

Review: On Saturday, June 6th, I found the car I wanted via [redacted] at this business. The business said they were affiliated with the [redacted] car buying program, which based on the [redacted] reputation, I thought would be a credible company. (I later found out they are NOT affiliated with [redacted].) The salesman was very nice. When it came to financing, the difficulty started. When I was filling out the paperwork, I noticed the price on the document was not the price on the internet. The salesman said he could not answer why, and got the finance person involved, Hafeez who goes by "John" said the price increase of $1000 was because the price on the internet was the cash price. I asked him to show me where on the internet I could find this information. He could not. He attempted to change the subject. Also, the finance paperwork did not reflect my 30% deposit. He said the deposit was not applied to the principle car cost but used to pay the financing cost, tax, title, licensing, etc. Therefore, the sales price listed showed the "true list cost" as well as him trying to put the warranty cost into the list cost instead of under a separate heading. All this made the amount financed significantly higher. I said, in polite terms, BS. When I stated I would pay cash for the car and handle my own titling, his attitude went from double-speak and condescending to conciliatory and meek. He did try also to tell me that because of the large amount, he would also have to charge me for the 2.5% credit card fee. I called BS again. I finally got the car for the "cash" price plus warranty. I was told that since the firm owned all their cars and had the titles, I could pick up the title on Tuesday, 9 June. I started calling on Monday to confirm they had the title in hand before I made the trip to Fredericksburg, but did not get my calls returned. I finally spoke with the title person (she said she left vm which I never got) who said it would be mailed to their office (?) and she would call no later than 5 p.m. on Friday to confirm they had it in hand. On Thursday, I took the car to a normal service appointment. There were significant issues found by the service team so I attempted to contact John to resolve based on the arbitration agreement. I am also attempting to contact the warranty company since I purchased a warranty. I told all this to the salesperson who answered the phone when I called and asked to speak with John. I was initially told John was busy, please call back in 45 minutes. When I called back, my call went to voicemail (at 6 p.m. at a car dealership on Friday in spring (?)), and I haven't received a call back yet.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the vehicle repaired at the expense of Autos Direct Downtown at a facility of my choosing.

To Whom It May Concern: I would like to first address a few of the concerns Ms. [redacted] has in her complaint. According to our records, the vehicle was sold in good running and driving condition. It underwent all the required pre•sale service inspections. Ms. [redacted] was fully aware that this vehicle was sold to her AS IS and she was perfectly fine with the condition of the vehicle at time of sale. Our advertisement online says that "the listed price online are based on a one- time payment in full with your own bank check, cashier check, credit card or cash"(see attached). The financing documents did reflect her down payment. The merchant company we use is paypros and they actually charge us 2.0% and not 2.5%. This was an error from our staff on the percentage. We however waived this fee for Ms. [redacted] at time of sale. I did call Ms. [redacted] twice regarding the title but when she returned my call she said she didn't get any of my messages so I confirmed her number with her and it was the same number I left messages at. The title to this vehicle had to go back to the auction and from there it went to the store that sold this vehicle and to the previous owners because of some minor mistakes to the power of attorney. We learned this after our title clerk went to OMV to process the title (see attached). Ms. [redacted] stopped by the dealer about Spm on June 16, and was explained the title situation. She was given copies of all title documents upon her request. She then wanted to discuss some repairs on her vehicle totally about $680.00. The Sales Manager informed her that he needed to discuss this with the owner and will get back to her. On June 18, 2015, we contacted Ms.[redacted] and made arrangements for the repairs. On Friday June 26, 2015 at lOam she came in and we had the new parts installed that day. Meanwhile, we gave her a loaner vehicle until Spm when her car was ready (see attached). We also put gas in her car before giving it back to her from the shop. I showed her the receipts of the parts (see attached) we had installed and asked her to sign a document (see attached) but she refused to sign. She said she needed to check with her mechanic about the parts installed. I advised her that certainly she can do that. We left all the old parts in the back seat of her vehicle. I can process her tags or her title here in the office while waiting for the title correction however she does have to pay all the MVA fees. The title can be mailed to her along with the tags or the title only whichever she prefers. We did give this option to her couple weeks ago but she insisted on having the title instead. This is the best route to go on her having the title or her tags in a timely fashion. We have made all efforts to help solve this unfortunate matter as fairly, responsibly and ethically as possible and we do apology for the inconvenience this may have caused Ms. [redacted]. Our main prority is customer service and we feel we have provided this to Ms. [redacted]. Office Manager Autos Direct Downtown Inc
