Review: After I agreed to buy the car(2004 VW Passat)the owner([redacted])told me that there was a problem with the turbo but that he had a part on order for it & would have it fixed by the time I picked it up. A few days later the check engine light came on. Code said turbo problem. Took car back to dealer, they "checked it out" and said they could find nothing wrong and reset the light. Light came back on the next day. Called dealer and reported that light was back on. They told me they called a VW dealer that told them it could be "this part" or it could be "that part" and gave me prices for these parts (155.38)& that if I would pay for the parts they would put them on. I felt that the dealer was only guessing at the problem, so I took the car to a VW dealer and paid for their diagnosis(48.59). They said that the car needed a new turbo, their estimate:1271.51. I reported this to dealer and they told me that they would replace the turbo, my cost: $100 (they called this a deductible). I took the car back and they say they replaced the turbo (with a used turbo). I picked the car up and the check engine light came on as I was driving it home. I reported this to the dealer and he responded that he would pay half for a new turbo and install it. This car came with a 50/50 warranty, which the dealer is constantly referring to. The dealer feels that the car "has no problem except a lite", and that "loss big money on this car". My opinion is that he sold the car to me with this problem and it has nothing to do with their warranty. I am sure he knows he would not be able to sell a car with a check engine light on.Desired Settlement: I believe that the car was sold to me with this problem. I want the turbo problem with the car repaired without further cost to me.
