John lied to me and stole my money
Horrible experience. they said they had the TCM I needed. John sent me a part from a different vehicle they had slapped a bogus OEM sticker on for my VIN. then when I shipped it back with confirmation receipt, he said he would process a refund. 5 months later, after he has often stated his apologies for the hang-ups, etc. still no refund. then he blamed my credit card company. then asked me to stop calling for the refund he had promised. ultimately, they stole 505.00 from me, and feel no remorse. simply put, they are thieves.

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I want to make it clear that I had to physically drive to this business and the owner pushed me to take escalated actions to finally get this matter seemingly resolvedI am completely dissatisfied with their professionalism and customer service and will not be doing business with them in the futureThey have unecessarily and unfortunatly ruined this professional relationship.Regards, [redacted]

This business has the part from my car that I paid them $to repair, I returned the part at my expense because it was defective, and now the owner will not take or return my calls, or emails, or provide a working part or a refund! In short, they are dishonest and should be charged with theftThere is not a single reason to to business with this firm and they should lose their business license

I brought a Ford truck power train control module to Autotek Car Parts LLC to be repaired the first week of May The original problem was that it was throwing a random and intermittant transmission solenoid code and the transmission was binding intermittantly while driving I had no other complaints at this time [redacted] said he would repair the unit and call me when readyI picked up the unit on 5/16/and paid a total of $The reason for the refund request is because the product purchased was not producedThe work time taken was unreasonable and the product wrong and defectiveUpon installation, the module was now throwing a PCV heater circuit code and ran very rough on startupThese were two new problems it did not have beforeFurthermore, It was not the correct productIt was scanning as a Ford Van instead of a Ford truckI returned the unit to ***, and fully explained the new issues [redacted] said he would fix and call me when readyAfter two subsequent

The item was indeed purchased via internet, using a certain part number (7192AJ)An item with a different part number was sent to me (7256AB)I demand that Autotek Car Parts evidences that an incorrect part number was used on the online transaction

I am asking to be refunded for my first purchase because the part that I received (7256AB) was not the one I purchased (7192AJ) and, therefore, it does not work with my car
I have never claimed that Autotek saw, tested, or inspected my carIf the correct part would have been sent to me in the first place, no programming would have been necessary and the part would have worked with no further programming being required
The current arguments of Autotek are completly different from those expressed in their email messages dated May 9, and May 30, 2014, which have been enclosed as evidence to this claim:
- Back then, they were the ones offering a complete replacement and transfer the codes of my original unit to the new one (if I paid US$ 365); now they claim that I was the one requesting this transfer of codes
- Before, they mentioned that the transfer of codes could be made; now, they claim that the original part is completely destroyed
- Before, they stated that the purchase was made with an incorrect part number supplied by me; now, the problem is due to my inhability to follow their programming instructions (which were never provided)
It is clear that Autotek's version of the facts has changed in order to avoid their responsability for sending a wrong part to meAgain, Autotek should evidence that an incorrect part number was used on the online transaction

Review: On November 10th, 2014 I contacted AutoTek asking if they repaired Volkswagen ECM’s, in particular a 1995 Eurovan, engine code ACU. I was told they would be able to repair it. I initiated a purchase order with $300 charged to my credit card. After a week, I called and they said that it was being repaired. I called a week later and they said they had to order a part and they had not issued a tracking number yet. A few days later, now December 2nd, I called again, and still no tracking number had been issued. I called on December 5th and was told that it was going out that day. I followed up on Monday the 8th and was told it hadn’t gone out. on Friday. I received the ECU with an accompanying wiring diagram on December 10th I installed it on the 12th and found the same problem existed as when I sent it in for repair, namely no signal output on pin 7 which fires the coil. I called AutoTek and asked to speak to the tech, who turned out to be John. I was told [redacted] was unavailable and might be available on Saturday morning of the 13th. I called back on the 13th, and told him the problem and he assured me that he had checked this ECU and it was absolutely firing on pin 7 and I needed to check the crankcase position sensor (CKS) output on pin 67 that would control the output on pin 7. After checking my factory diagram against the diagram that he had provided with my returned ECU, I found the diagram that he had provided was for a Passat with a CKS. On December 15th I called AutoTek and asked to speak with [redacted] I told him the issue with the diagram and the problem with the ECU, and he told me he would look into it but the system was the same as the Eurovan. I told him I had the factory wiring diagram, and it was different, and my vehicle does not have a crankshaft position sensor. I have not heard a thing from them, and must conclude they cannot/will not be able to solve the issue as claimed. I still have not had any return call from [redacted] or anyone from the USA branch.Desired Settlement: Ideally my ECU/ECM would work, but I am not convinced AutoTek can do the job. Refund and apology for wasting 5 weeks of time will work.

Response:

Hello;

Review: 1. On November 25, 2013, I purchased an ECU for a Dodge Caravan, 1998-vehicle, using Autotek Car Parts' website. In order to find the item I used the company's search engine, with part number information: 7192AJ. The item was paid in full using PayPalUS$ 220, including S&H).2. The item I received had a different part number (7256AB) and the shop where my car was being repaired had difficulties in making it work. I contacted Autotek and spoke with [redacted] (whom I was informed later is the owner of the company). I mentioned the part number difference and [redacted] told me that there should be no problem, that the part sent to me should be compatible. In fact, he mentioned some alternatives to program the ECU to make it work. These conversations took place by mid-January. I held periodical telephone conversations with [redacted], in order to find a solution. 3. After several attempts trying to make the part work, I contacted [redacted] again, who asked me to re-ship the purchased part, plus my old part to them. I spent US$ 65 more to do this. I tried to find an amicable solution with Autotek and even offered to pay again for the S&H to Peru, so that they would send me the correct part.4. Some days later and after several phone calls to Autotek, they said that they could not replace the part and that repairing the old one would cost US$ 385 more.5. In June 2, 2014, I sent a last request to Autotek in order to find a reasonable solution. This email has not been responded. Autotek holds now my old part and the one I purchased from them.6. I have had to purchase a new ECU from another supplier, at a cost of US$ 260.Desired Settlement: That Autotek Car Parts reimburses:- US$ 220.00 for the part purchased from them (and returned to them).- US$ 61.65 for the Customs Duties that I had to pay in Peru when firt imported the part.- US$ 65.00 for the addition shipping cost of re-sending the part purchased from Autotek and my old part, as requested by [redacted].- US$ 400.00 which is the amount I have had to pay the shop where my car has been for several months.

hank you for your email dated on 7/23/2014.

Reference case: [redacted]

On the 25th of November 2013 [redacted] purchased an item in Peru through Autotek website via internet in, which we have no control over the orders made.

The customer failed to program the item into the vehicle as per manufacturer’s specifications by Autotek website at the time of purchase and also by enclosed documentation with the part.

On the 9th of May 2014 the customer returned the item from Peru along with another item he claims is the original to his vehicle; however the original is completely destroyed.

The customer then requested we transfer the program from his original item to a different item and have it returned to Peru at our cost.

The customer has also asked to be refunded for his first purchase. Autotek is not responsible for the customer’s failure in Peru to reprogram the computer to his car.

Autotek has never seen, tested, or inspected the customer’s car. This was an online transaction from Peru.

I hope the above clarifies the situation and if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The item was indeed purchased via internet, using a certain part number (7192AJ). An item with a different part number was sent to me (7256AB). I demand that Autotek Car Parts evidences that an incorrect part number was used on the online transaction.

The instructions that would suposedly allow me to program the ECM were provided via telephone by [redacted] at my request, because the part received from Autotek did not work. There were no instructions via website, nor was there any enclosed documentation with the part (besides the incoice). The insctructions provided by [redacted] over the telephone never worked because the part delivered to me was not the one I purchased and it did not correspond to my car model/year. I called insistently to [redacted] in order to find a solution, but this was not possible.

The item received from Autotek and the original one were shipped to Autotek at my cost (as per [redacted]'s indications). The fact that the old part was destroyed is not relevant. I never requested that the program be transferred to the original part. [redacted] indicated that he wanted to take a look at both parts in order to evaluate what could be done, since it had been impossible to find a solution in the past 5 months.

I am asking to be refunded for my first purchase because the part that I received (7256AB) was not the one I purchased (7192AJ) and, therefore, it does not work with my car.

I have never claimed that Autotek saw, tested, or inspected my car. If the correct part would have been sent to me in the first place, no programming would have been necessary and the part would have worked with no further programming being required.

The current arguments of Autotek are completly different from those expressed in their email messages dated May 9, 2014 and May 30, 2014, which have been enclosed as evidence to this claim:

- Back then, they were the ones offering a complete replacement and transfer the codes of my original unit to the new one (if I paid US$ 365); now they claim that I was the one requesting this transfer of codes.

- Before, they mentioned that the transfer of codes could be made; now, they claim that the original part is completely destroyed.

- Before, they stated that the purchase was made with an incorrect part number supplied by me; now, the problem is due to my inhability to follow their programming instructions (which were never provided).

It is clear that Autotek's version of the facts has changed in order to avoid their responsability for sending a wrong part to me. Again, Autotek should evidence that an incorrect part number was used on the online transaction.
