I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and although I entirely disagree with several comments made by the owner, I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I am awaiting my refund, and will expect it to arrive in the mail within two weeks, or will undertake additional action

[redacted] had her 2012 [redacted] towed into Autoworks on 2/25/15.  At that time, we found the drivers side front axle pulled out of the transmission causing the transmission to lose all of its fluid therefore the car would not move.  We explained to [redacted] we had no way of knowing the...

condition of the transmission until we replaced the drivers side axle, axle seal and serviced the automatic transmission fluid. Servicing the automatic transmission fluid requires us to drain what fluid is left in the transmission and replace with Genuine [redacted] automatic transmission fluid. [redacted] gave us authorization to replace the axle, the axle seal and service the transmission. Upon calling her for authorization she was told this would cost $653.35. She gave us the "go ahead" to perform this work. The breakdown of her entire invoice is as follows:
Transmission diagnosis $112.50
Towing fee $80.00 discounted to $40.00
Replacing the CV Axle and Seal $328.16, discounted to $301.97
Servicing the automatic transmission $101.40 discounted to $89.95
De-grease the engine and transmission $52.50 There was transmission fluid covering the entire underside of her car!
[redacted] could not seem to grasp the concept that our [redacted] software program showed a calculation of .50 labor hours at $179.90 for an automatic transmission fluid flush even though this is a "canned job" with a flat fee of $89.95. A canned job means it is not calculated by labor hours, but just a fixed price. $89.95 is not overcharging; it's competitive with any other shop in town!
Her transmission holds 3 quarts of Genuine [redacted] transmission fluid at $8.80 per quart. The labor involved is 1 hour at $75.00. This job costs $101.40. We charged her $89.95. A savings of $11.45.
[redacted] received $77.64 in discounts. How can this invoice possibly be "bloated"? No one used any "sexist" comments, and yes, she had taken up enough of everyone's time--sixteen minutes to be exact. The unknown technician she is referring to is actually **, the Service Manager. No clue about the "fraud" accusation.  It's just simple math--no catches. The only comment I made to her after sixteen minutes of having the same conversation over and over with 3 different people was "she could come use my calculator". It did seem that even though [redacted] authorized us to do the work, another person in the household didn't approve after the fact. We didn't refuse to discuss the issue, but felt after sixteen minutes and 3 different people, we had exhausted the conversation. It was late in the day on Friday and we were extremely busy.
I am willing to refund [redacted] her $52.45 only because this truly has taken up too much of my staff's time, not because we did something wrong. I also recommend to [redacted] that she find a new repair shop to hassle and to service her vehicles. Her rear tires are down to the wear bars and her front and rear brakes need immediate attention!
Sincerely,
