Review: I vacated the apartment (B-108) on 1/31/13 after giving over 30 days notice. When Mgr [redacted] did the final inspection she praised me for taking good care of the apartment and made notes on the inspection form that no cleaning, painting, repairs, or carpet shampooing was necessary. She further informed me that my deposit would be returned to me within two weeks. (On a personal note, I left the apartment in much cleaner condition than when I moved in). On 3/18/13 I again spoke with [redacted] as I had not yet received my deposit refund, and I was told that I have not given the proper forwarding address, which I'm confident is not true. On 3/30/13 I received a statement showing that I owe over $5000 in rent to fulfill my lease agreement; the lease agreement became null and void when the new tenants moved into B-108 on 2/8/13. Further the statement only credited me for a $400 security deposit, when I, in fact, paid $800 plus a $100 application fee. I was told by [redacted] & her supervisor [redacted] that I would receive such a statement, and that I should ignore it since it will be void upon the new tenant lease.Desired Settlement: I request immediate refund of my entire deposits of $800, less the amount of $166.50 to cover the rent for the dates of 2/1/13 thru 2/7/13, for a total refund amount of $633.50. I also would like acknowledgement of the invalidity of the the statement that I received.

Autumn Run Apartments has received the above referenced

complaint from former resident [redacted].

We were very sorry to hear of the claim as all communication with [redacted]

in regards to her deposit has been very amicable and appreciated by her.

Unfortunately, due to an initial clerical error on our part,

[redacted]’s refund was not received by her and was sent to the wrong street

address. Once we received notification

that her refund had not been received we immediately corrected the forwarding

address. Due to the time take and **.

[redacted]’s concerns, the decision was made on April 1st, 2013 to mail

her refund directly to the Autumn Run office to then ensure that she received

the refund.

I, personally, spoke with [redacted] on April 1st,

2013 and explained the situation to her and all that we were doing to correct

the issue and also apologized for the lengthy delay of the refund. I explained to her that we were having the

check delivered to our office to ensure that it would be received and even

offered to hand deliver it to her when it arrived.

[redacted] was very gracious at this conversation and said that

it was ‘no big deal’ but that she did want the money returned as she had

initially borrowed it from family/friends.

She was appreciative and even thanked us for our work at attempting to

resolve the issue.

On April 4th, 2013 the refund check due to [redacted]

[redacted] was received at the Autumn Run office and [redacted] was immediately called

and notified of its arrival. [redacted]

spoke with [redacted] upon receiving the refund check and stated; “it was more than

anticipated” and thanked [redacted] “for all of her help on the matter.” On this date [redacted] received a total refund

of $672.50 which is the correct refund, without any charges (other than rent

owed) and is more than the amount requested in the complaint of $633.50.

It is unfortunate that this clerical error was made by our

company but, please be assured that we took all matters necessary to resolve

the issue once we were notified of it.

Again, our communication with [redacted] has been amicable and appreciative

on her part.

We regret that any of our residents, who we view as family,

would ever have a complaint about us.

Unfortunately, mistakes do occur but we exceeded our efforts to ensure

that it was corrected as quickly as possible.

Review: My wife and I were looking at possible renting from these apartments and the manager-[redacted] said one thing and wrote it on OUR paper for section 8 housing which was to be used for said apartment well financially it did not work with section 8 and now corporate and [redacted] are refusing to give us back our HOLDING deposit. which is not ethical as we are not allowed to live there with section 8.
