[Your Answer Here]
I I appreciate the response  from A V Movers but they neglected to respond to most of my concerns. First, I was not told the new cost of the move until my belongings were already loaded onto a truck and in the possession of the company.  This is when I was told that the cost of the move was nearly three times the amount of the original estimate I received for my two bedroom apartment. The process that was used to estimate the cost whether intentional or not by the company, grossly underestimated the cost  in an attempt to get the business.  Second, I contacted the company repeatedly  in the process of the move to discuss some of the concerns that were developing. A V Movers did not assist me  with these concerns. I asked on multiple occasions to speak with a supervisor  and was told "no" by the customer service representative, Andrew. The only time anyone returned my calls was after I posted a negative  review of the company online. Third, part of the agreement was that my furniture  would be disassembled in the first apartment  and reassembled in the second apartment.  However, NOTHING was reassembled.  This service was one of the main reasons  I chose to use a moving company in the first place. Fourth, not only was nothing reassembled  but there were also items left outside and downstairs because the workers said it was too heavy and did not realize the heavy item could be disassembled  more to bring upstairs. I had to pay another moving company to bring this item upstairs into my apartment. Fifth, I did finally receive the claim forms to file for all of the broken and missing items. However, according to the paperwork, I now need to pay even more money to here the items appraised for value, damage, and weight. I also have to submit copies of the receipts, which is not possible because those are located in one of the missing boxes.  These concerns have not been addressed  and therefore I reject the response .

Review: We're moving from NJ to CA. These movers picked up all our belongings on June [redacted]. It's now July [redacted] and we did not receive our stuff. It's past the latest delivery date on our contract and far past the estimated delivery date. I've been trying for weeks but at no point am I able to get any manager to return my calls. They kept telling us it would come the following week. This happens week after week. I requested they tell me where it is now so I can rent a truck myself to pick it up. They do not know where my stuff is. They claimed to not know what truck has it or what driver. But they say it's not lost. Isn't not knowing where it is and not knowing how to find it the definition of lost? This has gone on long enough and at the very least they should call me. What tasks or costumers have a higher priority for them than this situation?Desired Settlement: I prepaid more than 50% of the total charges. I'd like my stuff delivered as soon as possible with no further payment on my part.

Response:

We have 30 business days general delivery policy for all long distance relocations. Once the truck in route we can only give a customer an estimated delivery frame, Unless customer orders and pays for the expedited services. [redacted] did not order expedited services and the shipment is being delivered within 30 business days. We really apologize for the delays, we were trying to deliver the shipment earlier, but due to breakdown of the truck delivery was delayed. Please see attached a copy of our agreement signed by [redacted].

I am rejecting your reply because you did not address:Desired resolution: Finish JobDesired outcome: I prepaid more than 50% of the total charges. I'd like my stuff delivered as soon as possible with no further payment on my part. The original estimate we received from AV Moving indicated 7-21 business day estimate for delivery to our location (see attached). Verbally we were told by AV Moving representative that it will take 7-15 business days. We have selected AV Moving based on their price as well as their delivery estimate. If their true delivery estimate which Dave references in his reply (30 business days) was disclosed to us in advance we would have potentially selected a different moving company. This information was withheld at the time we were negotiating the contract and the information we received was misleading. When the contract was signed on the day of pickup AV Moving did not go over the change in this estimate to indicate that what we were told previously (7-21 business days) has now changed to 30 business days. This is located in very small print at the back of a long contract. We do not deny signing, however this was very misleading on part of AV Moving.Additionally, today is conclusion of business day 32 since the pickup of our belongings on 6/**. Our belongings have not arrived. See Dave's reply to Revdex.com indicating we will receive our belongings within 30 business days.Furthermore, we do not have any sense of when our belongings will arrive nor where they are located. The company has not kept us updated on the status of our delivery. We have contacted AV Moving approximately 30 times to try to gain information on:- Status of our move- Delivery date- Location of our belongings- Negotiation regarding price given the estimate we were originally provided for delivery was far exceededWhen we call AV Moving the representatives cannot help us other than to tell us that:- Dave will call us back- Our belongings will arrive "next week" since 6/** making now 5 weeks of us being told this incorrect information- They do not know where our belongings are located (we requested to know the location in order to pick them up ourselves)Dave called us back and reached us once on 7/** and he told us he will contact us the following Monday. The following Monday he emailed us to tell us he will contact us on Tuesday. He has not called us since (reached us or left a message).Dave also told us on 7/** that our belongings will arrive 7/[redacted]. This has not happened.Today, 7/**, we were again told by AV Moving that Dave will contact us today before end of business day. The business day has concluded at 5pm EST and we have not heard from Dave nor any other representative in the company to address the payment nor provide a firm date of delivery. We want the following:- A firm date in writing when our belongings will be delivered. When we requested this of AV Moving they would only give dates verbally and those dates have proven incorrect more than 9 times so far.- AV Moving to work with us regarding the timing of the firm delivery date. Given this delay we now have a conflict receiving our belongings on certain dates. We need to talk to the company to ensure they do not try to deliver when we cannot receive. We have made ourselves available for full 30 business days and longer for the receipt and our belongings have not arrived.- Negotiation regarding price *before* we are required to make the final payment. AV Moving has now breached both delivery time frames we were provided. We have upheld our side of the contract and provided deposit and initial payment. AV Moving is not upholding their side of the contract and actually providing moving services. Our belongings have not been moved to our new location.

Sincerely,

Review: I received an estimate for moving my 2 bedroom apartment from [redacted], NJ to [redacted], NC on April **, 2015. The original estimate for my move was $1587.00. This estimate was done over the phone and via an online form that listed inventory of my furniture and materials. The day they were supposed to move me they showed up an hour after the scheduled time. It took much longer to pack the materials than I was told it would the workers took quite a few smoke breaks so this pushed back my moving time. The truck already had someone else’s materials on the truck. It wasn’t until the workers had my things loaded on the truck that they said this would cost much more than they originally estimated. They said this was because my things took up more room on the truck. My new cost would be $4,113. I was extremely upset at the disparity in cost but my things were already loaded onto the truck and it was late in the evening by this point. I signed for them to take my items to my new apartment in [redacted], NC. They estimated that it would take approximately 3-9 business days but promised it would “probably be there much sooner”.

On Tuesday, June [redacted], I reached out to the AV Moving to receive an update on the move since it had been 5 days. I was told that the materials were currently being loaded onto a truck. That same day I received a call and text messages from David who, advised he was a supervisor, asking if some materials they found belonged to me. These items were not mine. I was told the drivers would call me the next day with a time for delivery. The next day, June [redacted], I didn’t receive a call so I reached out to the movers again. I was told they would deliver my materials on Thursday and that someone would call the next morning with an estimated time. On Thursday, June [redacted] no one called, so I continued calling and leaving messages. I then was told the delivery would happen Thursday evening between 6-7 pm. There was no delivery, no phone calls, and no updates. I made repeated calls and finally received a call back at 9:30 pm that the delivery would not happen that night and that my delivery would take place the next morning but someone would call Friday morning with a definitive time. The next morning there were no phone calls. I began calling AV Movers again at 1:30 pm and was told by a customer service agent, Andrew, that he would look into the matter. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was repeatedly told this was not possible. After an hour of waiting I called again and was told again that I couldn’t speak to a supervisor and that they would get to me when they go to me. He could not reach the workers on the truck but said they should be at my apartment before 9 pm that night. I explained that I have a one year old and neighbors, that I could not do the move that late at night. The truck arrived shortly after and I was told that they would need to charge me extra for the staircase (I already paid an additional fee) and that they would only accept cash for the final half of the payment. I explained that I would not be paying in cash because I have been extremely unsatisfied with the move to this point. I wanted to use my card. Even if I didn’t want to use my card there was no way I could get $2,000 in cash for them. I spoke again with Andrew and explained this to him, to which he said “We already have half of your money and your stuff. If you don’t pay the rest in cash we will keep your thing.” It wasn’t until after I posted a negative review of the company did a supervisor call me to “work out the issues”. He agreed to let me know use my card if I agreed to take down my negative review and not contact Revdex.com as I vowed I would. I made no promises but advised I would re-evaluate it after my goods were moved into my apartment. These 2 men worked to bring furniture and boxes into my home. They did this until well after midnight. As the furniture was brought into the apartment they workers pointed out to me a few items they noticed were damaged. I documented everything and took pictures. At one point one of the workers brought in a desk and mistakenly sat the desk on top of a book shelf, breaking it. The evening ended with the workers telling me they were not bringing the last piece of furniture upstairs because it was “too heavy” to bring up the stairs. First they said they would leave it down stairs then they called their supervisor who told them to load it back on to the truck and take it back to New Jersey. I was extremely upset and advised the workers and their supervisor that I would be filing a report with Revdex.com and the U.S. Department of Transportation FMCSA on Monday morning. At that point, the China Cabinet and garbage was left in the stairwell on the bottom floor. The following morning, Saturday June **, I paid another moving company $200 to move the china cabinet that was left outside into my apartment. None of the furniture was reassembled as part of my contract. In fact a number of items that are missing prevent me from reassembling the furniture myself. For example, my dining room table was disassembled in New Jersey (the legs were removed). However, in North Carolina the movers could not find the legs to the table so now I have no dining room table. I have pictures and documentation of all items that were broken, missing, and left outside of my apartment downstairs in the stairwell (broken dresser, damaged footboard, two broken bookshelves, missing boxes, broken night stand, china cabinet left downstairs outside, dining table legs missing).Desired Settlement: I am requesting to be refunded for the money paid to AV Moving Group, compensated for all damages to property/or replacement of damaged goods, re-compensated for the time and inconvenience to my family, and an investigation into the company for fraudulent activities/moving scams.

[redacted] To whom it may concerns.Complaint ID: [redacted]Original estimate has been done over the phone. And it was $ $1662.00 based on 529 cu ft (it was documented 23 items and 56 pieces). On the day of the move we put stickers on each item. The actual total inventory was much higher than the original and so was total volume. This is why the price was adjusted .The customer was informed about all the charges. He agreed to our terms and conditions and agreed to pay the total price for our services.Regarding damaged and missing furniture, AV Moving provides basic liability insurance which is 60 cents per pound per article. Our company policy states that according to DOT law AV Moving has 120 days to resolve claim from date claim form was submitted by customer. I’m sad to hear that we couldn’t satisfy [redacted] and Apologize for the inconvenience. We are expecting [redacted] to fill out the claim form to proceed with resolving the issues.

Review: AV Moving was selected to do my cross country relocation by a moving broker. They showed up to my house with a 24 foot box truck rented from AVIS on 08/**/2015. I immediately questioned the cubic footage of the truck. The foreman Tim S[redacted] said it was approximately 1800 cf. I immediately searched on the AVIS website to find the cubic footage was 1340 cf. The truck in the meantime was packed very sloppy not maximizing the total space of the rented truck. When the movers were finished they told me that the total cf of the move was 1500cf. And that I owe them half of the moving cost per our contract based on the 1500cf. The truck nor the movers had no quantifiable way to accurately measure the cubic footage and charged me for more Cubic footage then the truck could possibly handle. I had called my broker and the moving company to have the contract updated with an accurate measurement, to which they refused and threatened to not move our belongings.

When the movers arrived at our new destination I immediately measured the cubic footage of our load which was now packed on a different 18 wheeler that had many different households on it. The measurement was 1050 cf which I0 have pictures of the cubic footage lines that were marked on the ceiling of the trailer to support this. Yet again I called AV moving and the broker. And they said pay for the 1500 cf in full or they would not unload my belongings! This is clearly an abuse of people in a difficult position, and unfair business practices. I will be filing a negative review for both the Moving company and the broker if the difference in cost is not refunded to me.Desired Settlement: I want to be refunded the difference in cost immediately in accordance with the signed contract. I paid a total of $5732.14 When my balance base on measured cubic footage should have been $4,668.70. A refund of $1063.44 is requested immediately

Review: End of May I began evaluating moving companies, AV Moving was one of them.

I spoke to “Rose” at AV Moving (###-###-####-[redacted]) and asked what it would cost to move the contents of our home, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, den, kitchen, living room, dining room, loft, 2 car garage etc.

She sent me a quote on May ** (ATT 1). I told her that I was getting other estimates and was not sure of the date of the move.

On July *, I called AV Moving and asked to speak with Rose. Nicole told me that she wasn’t available but she would help me to set up moving date (July **) and finalize inventory. We went over the list and updated the original quote (ATT 2).

On July ** I spoke with Nicole about time and size of truck to make sure that all our property would fit. She checked with dispatch and said that the truck was able to fit all our house contents and more and that the movers would be coming between 10am and 12pm the next day.

On July ** at 1057am, Phil, the supervisor of the moving crew, called and said they were on their way. They showed up around 1220pm with an AVIS truck, ATT 3. Both my husband and I told Phil that the truck was too small to transport all our belongings, to which he agreed. He called the office to let them know and left a voice message as no one was available to answer his call. I also called, ATT 4. No one answered and I left a message that was never returned. He also told us that that size truck was the largest he could drive as he doesn’t have a trucker’s license.

Phil began filling out the contract (copy of which was never given to me but sent to [redacted] by AV Moving) and started loading the truck at 1pm. They wasted a great amount of time loading and unloading the truck to try to fit our furniture and belongings. All the boxes were stored in the garage, which was a time saver for them. For your information, the three guys that came, Phil, Guy and Phil, were not professionally trained, uniformed movers as AV Moving claims in their website.

They filled up the truck, leaving a lot of furniture behind, ATT 5, around 530pm. We had to rent a truck to complete the move, ATT 6.

We left NJ around 7pm. Around 730pm, Phil kept calling me. I returned his calls when I stopped, and he said that I had to pay cash upon completion of the job. I told him that I did not have enough cash and would pay with the credit card they had on file, [redacted], when I paid the deposit. He said that if I used my credit card there would be a 3% surcharged. Nowhere on their website nor when I made the deposit payment, there was a mention of such a charge. As you can see in ATT. 4, he kept calling me insisting I paid cash.

They finally arrived just before midnight, over six hours. Phil wanted payment before starting to unload the truck, again, wanting cash. He said for credit card payment he had to get authorization from the “accountant”. I again told him I had no cash and I wanted to speak with a representative from AV Moving before making any payment. He said that he would not unload our property without payment. I had to give him the credit card information but everything I signed I stated that It was “under duress”, ATT 7.

He received approval from the accountant just before midnight and, at that time, he wanted to start unloading the truck. My husband told him that it was insane to start unloading at that time as it would take them until 3 to 4am to finish.

He asked us when he should come back and we said at 8am.

He returned at 800am (July **) and, again, began to fill out more papers and demanded payment of the “estimated” costs before releasing our belongings. I called the office but no one was available at that time. I sent an email to Nicole, ATT 8, but never heard from her.

I called and spoke with an Andrew and he said that unless I paid, they would not release our property. I asked him to speak with a manager, according to him David P[redacted], and was told that he wasn’t available but he would call me back. No one ever did.

ATT 9 is the “final bill” they sent me and asked me to electronically sign, which I never did.

Unloading ended around 1230pm, less one large box and many broken items, and that’s when I called [redacted] for help.

As to information submitted by AV Moving representative to you, these are the facts:

1. The travel time, according to Google maps, from pick-up point to destination, is 2’30” without traffic taking truck routes, [redacted] and 495, for total of 126 miles.

2. Truck was rented because of items that were listed in the agreement and could not fit in the truck.

3. Both Rose and Nicole went through a check list with me and knew that it was a 3 bedroom, dining room, study, living room, loft of a 2 story house being moved.Desired Settlement: Both payments were made "under duress," as stated in my letter.

I am requesting a refund for charges to my credit card on July 15, 2015, as follows:

$748.17 of the $1612.38 charged

$2067.62 in full

Thank you for your assistance.

Review: I contacted AV Moving Inc. to get a quote to move from New Jersey to Connecticut. Bill, the contacted person, gave me an oral quote at first. I told Bill that I wanted an accurate total price and I did not want the price to increase later. I asked him to send somebody to my house to do the estimate. David came to my house to do the estimate. I showed David everything I need to move, including opening all the cabinets. Bill told me the packing, moving and insurance would cost a total of $5,897. Even though their price was higher than the price I received from another moving company, I agreed to hire them because they had better online reviews.

Tha packing day came. After all my things was packed and loaded into the trucks, they said the price of $5,897 was too low and the new price would be $9,000. That was more than a 50% price jump! I told the person in charge that I needed to talk to Bill or anybody in the company regarding the price issue, but nobody could be got hold of. I was also told if I did not pay the balance of $9,000 (they wanted it in cash) when they arrived at my new house in Connecticut they would not unload my stuff. It was ridiculous. I felt like I had been robbed. The guy who was in charge of the moving told me that I had to pay the $9,000 and could call Bill to request credit back. In order for them to unload my stuff, I paid the $9,000.

I have since tried to contact Bill to resolve the pricing issue but so far it has not been resolved. Bill was either impatient on the phone or would not return my calls. I also sent him an email but have not heard any response back.Desired Settlement: If the company jumped the price by 10% or even 20%, I would be OK with that. 50% jump is ridiculous and I can not accept that. I request a credit back from the company. I also hope the company does not cheat customer by giving a low price quote at beginning but charge a much higher price in the end.

Response:

We apologize that we were unable to meet your expectations. We provide binding estimates based on the inventory list approved and signed by a customer. The estimated price that we gave you was based on 2050cf and 205 pieces. On the day of the move after the truck was loaded it came out to 3000cf and 405 pieces. Unfortunately we cannot lower the price as we have to cover expenses for transportation of 3000cf and you already have discounted rate.We understand your concern, and value you as a customer and we offer you 10% discount for your next move. This offer can be applied to you or your family and friends. We apologize again for all the inconveniences, we did our best to provide you with high quality moving services.

Review: I was provided a sales rep who admitted (by the end of this nightmare) that she was new to the company and gave me inaccurate information. First, she promised me an estimate by the end of the day after our first interaction, and then was not able to do so, so I had wait additional days for an estimate. With additional contact, my sales rep continued to ask me the same fundamental questions, such as delivery date, addresses, etc MULTIPLE times. I got concerned that she was not documenting any information and was not competent to do the job, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then, when I asked common questions such as a delivery window, or the policy on stairs, I was either given incorrect information (which was attributed to this employees lack of experience with the company), or the question was diverted and never answered. Once I received my estimate I had questions as it was a much larger cubic footage than other companies quoted me, so my sales rep said to measure the items to receive an accurate quote. I was moving into a temporary place beforehand so I had all of my belongings packed and a very reliable but liberal cubic foot measurement. I provided this to the company but they said they could not use this, I needed to give them an inventory list. When I contacted the company with a last minute question, someone informed me there was an additional surcharge for fuel, although I was provided a binding estimate, which states "fuel, mileage and tolls included". When I asked to speak to somebody about this I was told nobody was available. I left my information and was not contacted. I called again the next day, still nobody available to speak to me. The person I spoke with was going to discuss it with his manager once he got in, but the next day, I was told the manager had still not been available. This was just days before my move. I was also informed my belongings would NOT be available during the window that 2 different sales reps had assured me earlier. I emailed the company, informing them I intended to contact Revdex.com if I do not hear from a supervisor or manager, and still have not heard from anyone in days. Because of their inaccurate information, awful customer service, additional fees, and inability to deliver my belongings in the time frame they had assured me, I had to cancel the service. I asked for a partial refund, and of course, still have not heard from anyone at the company.Desired Settlement: Complete or partial refund.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The agreement I signed was a binding estimate which AV broke this contract by requiring additional charges and fees within 7 days of the date which were not included on the contract. Therefore since they broke the agreement they should refund my deposit as they forced me to cancel service within 7 days of the date. Additionally I have written communication promising a refund if I remove my reviews of the company online, which is beyond unprofessional and extremely mischievous of the company.

In ordewr the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved becauseThe contract and all subsequent statements within it were broken and invalidated by AV moving when they added more charges to my BINDING estimate just DAYS before my move. This, along with the inability to deliver my belongings in a time frame promised to me by my sales representative were the reasons why the services had to be cancelled. Again, this was due to incompetence on the part of my sales representative, and no one at the company was willing to try to resolve any of these issues. As AV moving broke their own contract and my sales representative admitted to being new and providing me incorrect information on multiple topics, correcting the information again only days before my move making it impossible for me to use the services as the date she could now offer was much later than the date she promised me and the date of which I needed my belongings. I find it insulting that they recommend I contact customer service, knowing that I was in contact with the company for multiple days and once the 7 day mark was reached, they informed me my only option remaining was to cancel the services. Yes, Andrew informed me there was nothing he could do, he spoke to his supervisor (although I had requested to speak to a supervisor at each point of contact and was denied) after I had contacted the company multiple times a day for 4 days in a row. I tried to resolve the issue, I tried to make this work, I wanted to use the services offered by AV moving. My sales rep did not care that she lied to me, she did nothing to resolve the issue. Andrew however tried to be helpful but unfortunately nothing was done to help me.Lastly, AV moving offered a refund (despite this 7 day rule in the contract which AV moving broke and therefore nullified all statements within) but only if I remove my reviews online. I do not trust the company, I was lied to on multiple occasions by various employees and was treated like absolute garbage when I needed to contact the company. Therefore I could not trust the company to withhold their end of the deal; I instead contacted the Revdex.com to help with the situation. Since AV moving offered a refund already and their 7-day rule cannot be upheld due to the company breaching their own contract I would like a refund.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: I contracted with AV Moving, Inc. on 09/**/2015 around 10:00 am to move my personal belongings from [redacted] to [redacted]. They promised me that the delivery would be there on October *, 2015 but the delivery never arrived I called them and then they gave me a new date which that date passed and still not delivery called the company back and they proceeded to give me another date and that day has passed and still no delivery. Review: Hello,

In August of 2015, the location of AV Moving in NJ ([redacted]) moved my personal belongings from NY to GA. In the process, there were several items lost and damaged. In September of 2015, as instructed, I submitted a claim form to be reimbursed for these items. Since the move and the form being submitted, I have made repeated phone calls and sent several emails to follow up on the issue and I have not received 1 return call or email or any indication that they intend to reimburse me for the lost/damaged items that even THEIR drivers signed off on as being lost/damaged. There have been 7 attempts to contact them to resolve this.Desired Settlement: I want a full reimbursement for the amount submitted on my claim for losses and damages.

Review: I was moving from New york to california due to relocation. I had asked for moving quote from AVMoving and insisted that they do an in home estimate. AVMoving sent an in home estimator. The estimator came with 1013 cubic feet after going through all my stuff. When AVMoving came to pick up, they loaded all my stuff and claimed that the cubic feet came to 1650. I had protested to them but they insisted that it was 1650 cubic feet, more than 50% of the original estimate. Now, when they came to deliver, all my stuff fit in the delivery truck came to 1200 cubic feet. I took pictures, video of the delivery guy stating that my stuff was less than 1200 cubic feet. In summary, AVMoving overcharged me for 450 cubic feet, which around $2400. I called AVMoving about it and they asked to me send all the information. I had sent them the pictures, the videos but I had not heard back from them for more than 3 weeks even after repeated calls and emails.Desired Settlement: I want AVMoving to refund $2400

Review: We have 2:

--Nondelivery. Our furniture was picked up on 7/*/15 with contractual assurance that it would be delivered in 17'business days. 20 business days have passed and we can get no reliable confirmation of a delivery date.

--Bait and switch. We were originally quoted a price of $4884.38 based on 129 items at 980 cubic feet. We paid a $1500 deposit at contract and $4493 when on pickup. We we were told that we would have to pay at least $4,000 more on delivery because we actually had 22 additional items, for a total of 151. Because of these 22 items, mostly boxes,, we are being charged for an additional 1,117 square feet. This simply makes no sense and the company has refused to explain. Our total charge is based on 2197 square feet, which we disputeDesired Settlement: 1. Immediately delivery of furniture.

2. No additional charges beyond what we have already paid to compensate us for extreme inconvenience, overcharging for services and deceptive business practices.

Response:

Our company policy clearly states that generally, estimated delivery is up to 21 business days from date indicated as first available delivery date. Any oral promises made regarding delivery or pick up dates and times are mere estimates. We guarantee delivery to take place within 30 business days of the date first available for delivery. [redacted] first available date (according to the signed agreement (see attached) ) is July [redacted]. the day the complaint was filed was 11th business day from july [redacted]. The shipment will be delivered within agreed time frame.Total price is based on the actual volume of the shipment. The customer had more items than on the original estimate. I’m sad to hear that we couldn’t satisfy [redacted] and Apologize for the inconvenience.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This complaint is absolutely not satisfied.Delivery was not completed within 21 business days, the industry standard for coast-to-coast delivery. Our pick up was 7/*/15 and our delivery was made on 8/*/15, for a total of 23 business days. Moreover your contract advertises in prominent letters and numbers an outside delivery date of 17 days to Southern California. Still worse, AV representative Nicole R[redacted] assured us that we could expect much faster service. Nicole also assured us she would be available to take our inquiries, but she would not take or return our calls or emails after our furniture was picked up.And Andy, the person who did answer the phone, gave us two incorrect estimated delivery times and then excused himself by saying "I just do what I'm told."I am assembling our financial records from this move so that people who check Revdex.com can see how we were charged for services.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

[redacted] And [redacted]

Response:

Our company policy clearly states that generally, estimated delivery is up to 21 business days from date indicated as first available delivery date. Standard delivery time frame to south California is 7 - 17 business days. As I already said, the first available delivery date Ms [redacted] could accept the shipment was july ** (see an agreement). The shipment was delivered on August [redacted] that is 16th business day after the first available delivery date. Estimated delivery time frame could very as this is a consolidated move and there are few shipments on the truck. Due to waiting time, traffic or other emergencies estimated delivery date could be changed. We apologize that we could not deliver [redacted]'s shipment sooner.

Review: Before closing the deal with them I made sure to have all my questions answered from nicole and other employees.

My horrible experience begins at the pickup date. They used a 3rd party company and employees with a rental truck. nicole clearly stated that they had their own trucks at all times. The first thing the driver asks me (using another moving company uniform called atlas) is if I was going to tip them well. I felt threatened that if I didn't he would not take a good care of my belongings and also make sure to place them in the truck in a way that he would be able to charge me for extra space which he did. AT the end he was just a 3rd party company so why care?!

They promised me to deliver within 14 days of the pickup date and they took almost 5 weeks. I knew that by law they have 21 days from the first available delivery date to deliver and I told them I needed my belongings way before and they gave me a verbal promise saying okay for the 2 weeks delivery. Clearly their promises were given just to convince me to choose their company. I called Nicole several times to ask why it was delayed and her answer was always the same: I need to check with my "operations manager david"which is not in the office. And she would never reply or call me back. The funny thing is that during the quotation process her "operations manager david" was always available on a "desk next to her"to clarify questions about hiring them. I've tried speaking with another employee called andrew and his answer was: I need to locate the truck driver and I never heard back from him. With no more choice I had to just sit and wait.

On the delivery date another 3rd party company comes in and before opening the truck the first thing the driver says is that he was going to charge me extra money for not being able to come in with the truck that made the cross country (18 wheeler) and for having to use another truck for delivery (shuttle). I shut his mouth when I showed another 18 wheeler truck parked inside of the community I live. oooops! He probably thought I had no knowledge and didn't do my studies. Plus I told nicole before closing the deal that a 18 wheeler would fit at the destination.

The moment he opens the truck and starts unloading my boxes I see another disaster! All my boxes are everywhere in the truck. A lot of them smashed and ripped off with broken items, my exercise bike is not properly covered with a mat and is broken and a few items are missing. Another nightmare begins when I contact AV moving to claim for the insurance. Barbara gives me a web link to file for the insurance claim and tells me that this company called CSI would handle the claim. I proceed filling for the insurance claim on July [redacted]. with a hope that it was going to get resolved soon. Today is September [redacted] and nothing has happened. I emailed the insurance company a few times and no response. I emailed Barbara from AV moving and her response is that I needed to contact the insurance company.Desired Settlement: To receive a payment for all my damaged and missing items

Review: Moving fraud. I hired a company to move my property from NJ to FL and they gave me an estimate of $2,623.93. They went to my house and saw all the items before putting them in the truck. I told them I had a couple of extra boxes and wanted to know how much more I had to pay. They said it was going to be a little more but not to worry. After they finished loading the truck, they said it was going to be $3,597 more than what I was originally quoted. I called the company and complained but they said I had to pay regardless. I just gave them $2055 total and asked to speak with the owner. He was nowhere to be found. I went to the office in Linden [redacted] and filed a police report. Mary, one of the workers, told me that they do fraud all the time. 9 days have passed and my property has not been delivered in FL yet.Desired Settlement: I need them to finish the job and deliver my furniture in Florida. Ideally, I would like to get to a fair agreement with them before my property is delivered. My estimate was $2623.93 and they are charging me now $6,390 almost 200% more.
