The Avalon has tried to get ahold of Beth Lee for several months to give her a refund, even before her event which she had requested changes we could not accommodateShe had started with a request for a room that seats to down to a room that holds 80, with short notice and our trying to work with her for monthsmonth prior to her event I was trying to get her to send back a signed contractShe had written the check without signing a contractI had emailed and calledLess than weeks prior she sends out an email asking to move from a room of to a room that holds That room was bookedWe held rooms in the course of those months both with very short notice of cancellation or changeI sent an e-mail, because she does not answer her phone to get an address to send a refundDespite holding a room twice for her we did not want to fight herWe do not believe she is capable of committing to a contractHad she chosen to say she was ready to do her John Maxwell presentation which she said she would do in the Dakota room we were ready to hold the functionShe never showed up nor responded to any emails or calls I had made to make sure we had all the details required days prior to an event

I received the complaint from Beth ***. I think her email title pretty much says it all. She rented a number of rooms from us, promised to sign a contract, and never did. She changed dates, did not respond to us, and finally pulled a no-show. She works for a company that teaches it's students how to "Live Out Leadership", whatever that means. We've been in business for over 20 years, and as owner of this company I am not aware that we ever had a complaint directed to the BBB, which, I believe is a testament to how we conduct our business. I have no idea why she went to you on this in the first place. Tell her to give us a physical address and I'll mail out a check, even though, under the circumstances, I do not need to do. She tied up the room and we were unable to rent it to another party. It will be great to be rid of her. Thank you Angela. I appreciate the notice that there has been an update on the case *** in which I have requested the refund promised to me by the Avalon West Event Center on Jan 8th, I have reviewed the update
I must say, that in reading the response provided by Mr***, I can only ascertain and reiterate that he has been under misguided information, as his accusations are so blatantly it's actually disturbingI am indeed part of a global, renowned leadership team and would never conduct myself in a manner that would undermine or blemish the reputation and integrity of such a significant organizationI will continue to conduct myself in a professional manner and not point fingers or outright lie, as he is (intentionally or unwittingly) doingI know and have sufficient proof that I had provided prompt, complete, and relevant information every time I received a request, and conducted myself as a courteous client despite the apparent hiccups and subsequent increased confusion in the dealings with the Avalon
As previously stated, it is grossly apparent that there are drastic differences in what Mr*** believes, and what I have firsthand experiencedI can refute every claim that he states in his response, and I still respectfully encourage him to investigate further in his establishment to seek the truth, as his claims are erroneous and some outright daft
Despite the manner in which Mr*** has decided to conduct himself in this matter, I do still believe that his establishment is impressive, and believe that many will find good use of it for other eventsI do hope, however, that future clients are cautious in protecting themselves with records of what they are told/encounter, as it is evident that anyone who calls into question their conduct appears to be met with less than admirable dialog
Please provide the following discrete address to Mr*** to send the aforementioned promised balance of $

I had been communicating with this woman for months concerning her reservation for a roomShe had originally reserved a room with a $1,deposit required for October 28, We reserved the room for her in our busiest month and the most popular roomShe kept telling us she had sent a check and had also emailed the contractShe cancelled her date at the last minuteShe asked if she could reserve in January, same room
I would not commit to that until she came in to payShe came in in December changed her mind on the size of the room and tried to negotiate a reduced priceI gave her a corporate discount and told her I would need a check for the depositShe wrote out the check $300.00, and I did not deposit it and sent out a contract by emailAs we got a few weeks prior to her date, January 13, 2016, I tried to call many times to find out the status of her eventI left a message saying the room deposit was non refundable and I was going to cash her checkWe finally heard from her asking to change her room to a smaller yet room that was not availableThis is where Tom *** stepped inHe told her we would refund her moneyI have pages of emails of us communicating about checks she sent and how she was going to have the eventI both told her and the contract says the deposit was non refundableOur decision to refund back in January was due to her irrational complaintsAgain, we are trying to refund and do not know where to send it
As you can see I have sent her an email again with no responseIf you have a reliable way of communicating with her we would appreciate getting this out of our wayHer complaint is unfounded and it is irrational that this type of person can make this serious complaint without any documentationI know Mr *** did not want to bother with this, but I have been the one dealing with Beth Lee and know how convincing she can be
Thank you for your help,
Kathy ***

The Avalon has tried to get ahold of Beth Lee for several months to give her a refund, even before her event which she had requested changes we could not accommodate. She had started with a request for a room that seats 700 to down to a room that holds 80, with short notice and our trying to work with her for 4 months. 1 month prior to her event I was trying to get her to send back a signed contract. She had written the check without signing a contract. I had emailed and called. Less than 2 weeks prior she sends out an email asking to move from a room of 200 to a room that holds 80. That room was booked. We held 2 rooms in the course of those 4 months both with very short notice of cancellation or change. I sent an e-mail, because she does not answer her phone to get an address to send a refund. Despite holding a room twice for her we did not want to fight her. We do not believe she is capable of committing to a contract. Had she chosen to say she was ready to do her John Maxwell presentation which she said she would do in the Dakota room we were ready to hold the function. She never showed up nor responded to any emails or calls I had made to make sure we had all the details required 14 days prior to an event.
