Absolute Section 8 scam and cover up . Stealing peoples money while they are being robbed by loser friends of section 8 free loaders who live there selling drugs with unregistered vehicles and stay loud 24/7. A joke ! Also unless you have skills in self defense and surveillance you are probably the next victim about to get jacked !

Review: Archstone Simi is owned by avalonbay communities inc, if you look up AvalonBay it says they are out of business. The have horrible customer service and zero business ethics. Over priced tiny apartments with bad maintenance. Scotch tape and white out are what they use to "repair" things. $2000 for 918sq ft!! And if you are moving out they treat you like garbage!! They lost my 30 day notice and put me in collections for utility's for a month I didn't even live there plus legal fees!!! This company should be forced to repay all residents all the money they wasted here and then shut down.Desired Settlement: To have the over charges dropped and to be removed from collections.

Review: Was sent to collections for unclear reason. They claim I owed Archstone (Avalon Community) Simi Valley $171 for trash collection, sewer, electricity which makes no sense to me because i've already paid DWP and So Cal Gas.They never called me, emailed me, billed me, or sent me any invoices.Extremely unprofessional.I've had nothing but bad experiences with their billing and customer service since the beginning of my interactions with them.Desired Settlement: Clarification of why they had some collections person pressure me into paying without any calls, bills, explanations.

Review: I paid a $200 Security Deposit when I moved in. I signed a 12 month lease and had a list of items I claimed on my move in inspection form that I did not want to be responsible for. Upon moving out I made certain all imperfection I caused was repaired (i.e. nail and screw holes). The bathroom, wash room, kitchen, inside and out of all appliances and every inch of the toilet and shower were left spotless. The carpets were steam cleaned back to the original cleanliness that I originally noted at move in. I requested a pre-move out inspection for the Friday prior to my official move out date. And because I did not receive my inspection I documented each part of the apartment with detailed photos. I am being charged for a complete painting of the apartment, additional carpet cleaning and general cleaning. I am being charged what seems to be $500 on top of the original security deposit. I spent a total of 10 hours cleaning and repairing the apartment back to the same, if not better, as when I moved in. It seems that this is a commonality with other tenants based off previous reviousDesired Settlement: With the detailed photos I can provide (available upon request) I would like a full refund of my security deposit and a credit for any additional charges for cleaning and repairs.

Review: Good Afternoon,For reference, this apartment community is no longer Archstone, but rather an avalon community "Avalon Simi Valley". I am simply writing to express my disgust with the move out procedure. I received my final bill with a charge for "accelerated rent". I called them to clarify what the term "accelerated rent" meant and why there is a charge for it. I called twice and spoke with two different representatives. The 1st representative advised that it was related to utilities from two months prior. This didn't make any sense to me as we pay our utilities the 1st of every month for the month prior. The 2nd representative I spoke to advised it was due to the fact that we moved out of our apartment early. We paid for out last month's rent which was June 1-13 on June 1st. We were able to move all of our belongings out by the 12th of June, a Saturday, and we figured since we were out we should just drop the keys off so we did not have to come back on the 13th, especially since the office is closed on a Sunday, which the office verified we could do. I decided I would dispute these charges since there should not be any. I just received a letter back from Jerrod C. in the AvalonBay Customer Care Center advising that the charges are "valid" and we owe the "accelerate rent" which is $58 for one day. Now, the question I had is how could we owe an additional $58 of "accelerate rent" if we have moved out on time and dropped our keys off on the 12th? The representative I just spoke to told me that by dropping our keys off on the 12th rather than the 13th we "broke" our lease agreement and are being charged $58 for our rent on the 13th. This would make sense if we had only paid through the 12th, however, at the beginning of the month, like I had previously stated, I had already paid through the 13th. They advised that this is their policy and they are sticking with the charges.Desired Settlement: I am not paying this "accelerate rent" charge as I feel it is a bogus charge that they are coming up with to simply squeeze more money out of money. I have paid my rent in full and adhere to all the other charges on my bill, which are simply utilities and the typical move out cleaning costs. Any help you could provide would be great.
