Avania Inn By the Sea Reviews (4)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below As I stated in the first two responses, I feel that he did not have sufficient evidence to warrant treatment for termites, and I know I was not charged for the inspection, but their negligence cost me extra time and money This would not have been so if they would have given a proper report If they say all houses have possible termites when they dont, just so that in the future if they do get them they can not be sued, then they are representing themselves falsely My complaint is solely that I feel that I was lied to, and that they were trying to take advantage of a situation to make a profit I am simply trying to keep someone else from being taken advantage of I would like to know the results from the department of agriculture also, since he was so intent on sending that wood to them As stated previously, we can deduct the original fee from my estimate, but I believe they owe me the difference I am not going to sit back and continue to let companies take advantage of customers As for the area above the nail holes that he previously mentioned, there is no area because it goes to the top, and we cut that whole piece out Regards, [redacted] ***

The nail holes that Mrs*** is referring to are not the
problem_ The area in question is above that area, and is shaped more like
a
tree branch, which is indicative of randon termites forging for foodI tried
to explain this to Mrs***, but she refused to listen so I left her my
report with an estimate for treatmentI am sorry she is upset, but after
years in this business I have learned to err on the side of caution, if I have
visible evidence of infestation I recommend treatmentWood destroying insect
inspections for property sales are the highest liability for our industry and
accounts for more lawsuits than any other portionI do not feel as though I am
responsible for reimbursement for a second opinion, or a fee of per day
due to Mrs*** waiting til the last minute to get this basic form for her
closing which is required for most all home sales, and the check Mrs.*** gave
me for our report is still in my office we have not deposited or attempted to
deposit since she informed us of her desire to get a second opinionIn fact
attached is a copy of the check that is still in our office.
Thank you, *** ***, Owner

As I stated in the first two responses, I feel that he did not have sufficient evidence to warrant treatment for termites, and I know I was not charged for the inspection, but their negligence cost me extra time and money.  This would not have been so if they would have given a proper report.  If they say all houses have possible termites when they dont, just so that in the future if they do get them they can not be sued, then they are representing themselves falsely.  My complaint is solely that I feel that I was lied to, and that they were trying to take advantage of a situation to make a profit.  I am simply trying to keep someone else from being taken advantage of.  I would like to know the results from the department of agriculture also, since he was so intent on sending that wood to them.  As stated previously, we can deduct the original fee from my estimate, but I believe they owe me the difference.  I am not going to sit back and continue to let companies take advantage of customers.  As for the area above the nail holes that he previously mentioned, there is no area because it goes to the top, and we cut that whole piece out.

Our company inspected
a total of 64 properties in the month of June, we only found termites in 6 of
those properties. As for the Department of Agriculture, their response was they
do not get involved in these types of matters. The form we supply is called a
Wood Destorying Insect form and is a visible report, if we see visible evidence
then we are obligated to put that in our report. We reported what we saw. We do
not believe we are responsible for any damages and do not feel we owe any
reimbursement. We did not charge for our inspection by not cashing her check.
This was done as a courtesy to her.
