I found Arden Avante on Craigslist after calling Sears Appliance repair for my leaky washer and was shocked to find out how much their "Service Call" fee was ($80) I immediately turrned to Craigslist and found Arden His service call fee was just $20! Wow, I can't even get my laundry done for $20, why not? Arden arrived and was very prompt and professional in his diagnosis and had it repaired in under a hour, same day for the cost of what sears would have charged just to come out to look at it I'll be using Avante Appliance Repair for my next home appliance disaster!!

Review: On November 18, 2013 I found [redacted] Avante's ad on craigslist and gave him a call when my washing machine stopped draining water. When I made an appointment over the phone I was told he would come look at the problem and give me a quote on the repair, he didn't mention that he would charge $60 to come on site. On November 19, 2013 He looked at the machine and said it wasn't an issue with the washing machine but with the washing machine's drain hose which feeds into my house's drain pipe, he recommended I call a plumber since there wasn't anything he could do. I hire a plumber to take a look at my drainage pipe and find out the pipe is completely normal.On November 20, I call [redacted] back again letting him know the results of the plumbers visit. He tells me that it's probably the computer (lots of $$$). Not happy with the diagnosis I call a different appliance technician who showed me that my problem was not with a the drain hose/pipe but with a small reservoir which water goes through on its way out the drain house. What happened was there was some debris clogged there (e.g., pennies, paper clips, etc...), he unclogged it and it was good as new. I should have called the 2nd technician off the start. Due to [redacted]t Avante sub-par diagnosis, I spent money unnecessarily on him and on a plumber. I want a refund of the $60 service fee since he did not perform his duties, what was provided was misinformation which caused me to hire a plumber and a 2nd technician (who fixed the problem).I have filed complaints with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and will be going through small claims court to get my money back.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $60 service fee since he did not perform his duties, what was provided and was instead given misinformation.
