Glenda [redacted] 207 S. Lake St Aurora, IL 60506 630-892-4300 [email protected] [email protected] January 21, 2016  Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois 330 N. Wabash Ave #3120 Chicago, IL 60611  Case # 11030606 Dear Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois: The Car...

Store Auto Corp would like to apologize for the delayed response to the Revdex.com request for an answer to the complaint above.  Please add the following email to our communications regarding customer’s complaints: [email protected] so that we may ensure faster response.  Mr. [redacted] made contact with our Sales Manager, Daniel Serna, on December 19, 2015 and on December 26, 2015 submitted an online credit application for the 2007 [redacted] VIN # [redacted].  Daniel arranged a loan for Mr. [redacted] on December 29, 2015 and Mr. [redacted] made an appointment to come and close on the loan on December 30th, 2015, but could not make it to close the loan.  A new appointment was made for December 31st, 2015 in the morning.  On the morning of December 31st, 2015 the customer came to take delivery of the [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] was given the opportunity and was encouraged to test drive the truck and inspect it as it is routinely done by most, if not all of our customers.  Mr. [redacted] declined to drive and or inspect the [redacted] and only opened the driver’s door and proceeded to finish the paperwork for the purchase of the [redacted].  The Car Store Auto Corp performed a safety inspection of the [redacted] Mr. [redacted] bought, however cosmetic rust on the bed of the truck or bottom of doors is not part of such inspection, as it does not pose a safety concern.  During the inspection, our technicians do not remove any truck bed accessories to inspect the bed of the truck for rust.  Mr. [redacted] was owned in Illinois for nearly 10 years where streets are treated with salt during the winter.  Under these Midwest conditions vehicles will normally develop rust and this [redacted] is no exception.  Even though rust was expected, Daniel [redacted] was just as surprised as Mr. [redacted] to learn about the rust holes on the bed of the [redacted].  When Daniel [redacted] was told about the estimate Mr. [redacted] was quoted to repair the bed, Daniel found it excessive and expensive as did Mr. [redacted].  Daniel [redacted] proceeded to recommend a body shop that Mr. [redacted] could take the vehicle to for an estimate at a discounted rate that The Car Store Auto Corp could procure for Mr. [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] agreed to make an appointment with them and requested that Daniel [redacted] forward the body shop’s information to Mr. [redacted] by e-mail.  During that conversation is that Daniel [redacted] explained to the customer that a better alternative to a plastic bed liner would be to do a sprayed in bed liner (Rhino Liner / Line-X Liner) after he got a patch panel installed.  Daniel [redacted] does not represent the body shop and does not dictate how the truck should be repaired, that was for him and the body shop to decide and agree upon.  Daniel [redacted] made no representation as to the [redacted] having no rust under the doors or on the bed of the truck.  The Car Store Auto Corp did not guarantee that the [redacted] would not have rust as it is common for Midwest vehicles to have rust.    Sincerely, Glenda [redacted], Sec.

Glenda [redacted] 207 S. Lake St Aurora, IL 60506 630-892-4300 [email protected] [email protected] January 21, 2016   Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois 330 N. Wabash Ave #3120 Chicago, IL 60611   Case # 11030606 Dear Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois: The 2007 [redacted] Mr. [redacted] purchased is nearly a 10 year old vehicle and was owned and driven on salt treated roads.  The rust found on his truck is cosmetic in nature and does not pose a safety concern.  It is typical of vehicles in Illinois to develop rust as is the case of Mr. [redacted].  Daniel [redacted] did not tell Mr. [redacted] “there is no reason to inspect this [redacted] because it is a very beautiful truck the cleanest 07 [redacted] around”.  Mr. [redacted] was sitting in our office ready to sign paperwork when Daniel [redacted] took him to the truck to inspect it and test drive it, Mr. [redacted] declined to test drive or inspect the truck.  Mr. [redacted] concerns about rust could have been addressed by inspecting the vehicle prior to purchase as is routine by customers purchasing a nearly 10 year old truck.  The 2007 [redacted] Mr. [redacted] purchased is in fact a very nice truck for a nearly 10 year old truck and any cosmetic rust is to be expected.  Daniel [redacted] mentioned to Mr. [redacted] that it was one of the cleanest 07 [redacted]s he had seen as most pick-up trucks are used for work and are typically dented, scratched and with very soiled interiors.  The 2007 [redacted] Mr. [redacted] purchased was safety inspected, serviced, detailed and [redacted] Certified by The Car Store Auto Corp.  The Car Store Auto Corp prides in giving customers as much information regarding their purchase as is available by providing [redacted] Vehicle History Reports and allowing test drives and inspections.  Mr. [redacted] was not only given the opportunity but encouraged to inspect and test drive the [redacted].  The Car Store Auto Corp does not offer a rust perforation warranties and neither Daniel [redacted] or The Car Store Auto Corp make any statements that would indicate there was no rust on the truck.  The Car Store Auto Corp made a reasonable offer to extend their wholesale discount to Mr. [redacted] at a recognized and established area body shop with over 30 years of experience.  The Car Store Auto Corp does not have any offer to extend to Mr. [redacted] at this time.
