While the community as a whole is maintained in a very presentable fashion at Avesta Park Village, the units themselves are in very bad disrepairThis is a constant with Avesta communities I have looked into in the past because this company does invest a large amount of capital in less desirable communities in order to rebuild the property and remove bad tenantsMy personal experience so far has been nothing, but dishonest and insincere from the property managersI understand that units need to be filled and leases need to be signed to fund the community, but I have been completely taken advantage of from the beginning by this communityI was refused a showing of the actual unit I was actually renting until after I signed my leaseI was given a move in date of September 4thWhen I called on that day I was told my apartment would not be ready until the 5thI cooperated and agreed to turn on the electricity with the city on September 5th at noon since that is the time I was told the apartment would be doneI call in the morning on September 5th and Sam the leasing consultant tells me the place is ready and I can sleep there tonight if I needed toI show up and when I am there in front of him he comes clean and says its not ready but I can stay in the home while the rest of the repairs are completedThe repairs are extensive and time consuming none of which can be done overnightSo now I have no choice but to pay the electric bill for them while they fix the unit until at least Tuesday because the utility company's business office is closed for Labor dayAlso the maintenance crew was nice enough to leave their vacuum cleaner for me in the unit and their gatorades in my refrigeratorSo far I am very unhappy because the staff here seems to think that my world should revolve around them in order to find a home which is ridiculous to say the least

While the community as a whole is maintained in a very presentable fashion at Avesta Park Village, the units themselves are in very bad disrepair. This is a constant with Avesta communities I have looked into in the past because this company does invest a large amount of capital in less desirable communities in order to rebuild the property and remove bad tenants. My personal experience so far has been nothing, but dishonest and insincere from the property managers. I understand that units need to be filled and leases need to be signed to fund the community, but I have been completely taken advantage of from the beginning by this community. I was refused a showing of the actual unit I was actually renting until after I signed my lease. I was given a move in date of September 4th. When I called on that day I was told my apartment would not be ready until the 5th. I cooperated and agreed to turn on the electricity with the city on September 5th at noon since that is the time I was told the apartment would be done. I call in the morning on September 5th and Sam the leasing consultant tells me the place is ready and I can sleep there tonight if I needed to. I show up and when I am there in front of him he comes clean and says its not ready but I can stay in the home while the rest of the repairs are completed. The repairs are extensive and time consuming none of which can be done overnight. So now I have no choice but to pay the electric bill for them while they fix the unit until at least Tuesday because the utility company's business office is closed for Labor day. Also the maintenance crew was nice enough to leave their vacuum cleaner for me in the unit and their gatorades in my refrigerator. So far I am very unhappy because the staff here seems to think that my world should revolve around them in order to find a home which is ridiculous to say the least.

I moved here 02/20/2015. I filled out my apartment inventory list and turned it in within 48hrs. As of today 04/08/2015 they have NOT completed all of the EXTREMELY NECESSARY repairs. These are by far the Nastiest, unhealthiest, WORST MANAGED, despicable apartments I've ever had the misfortune of living in. I wish I could move because I would in a heart beat. I have a nasty situation going on under my kitchen sink that makes my apartment smell horrendously! it's obvious something's leaking AND it looks like it's going to fall apart at any minute. The maintenance supervisor told City of Austin's City Code Enforcement representative(yes I filed a complaint with them 04/02/15), the Apartment Manager, and me that a contracted person was coming out on 04/08/2015 to handle the kitchen repair that involved the leak. Well it's past 7pm and no one came to do the repair. I'M NOT EVEN SURPRISED! I've havephotos of the mold & mildew under the cabinets in the kitchen & bath from last weeks so called repair and of the wall under the kitchen sink that's showing there is a leak somewhere. I also had 2 tiny snakes in my living room found last week.
