Aviation Design Reviews (1)

Review: On June 9th 2014, I met with [redacted] the owner of Aviation Designs to update my interior of my 1986 B36TC Aircraft. [redacted] and I agreed on a price and picked out colors of for the interior. $30,000 was the price for the complete job installed. All of his options minus, Headliner, his table, glare shield, seatbelts, weather stripping and sound proofing. The Price was to include the following, new carpet, seats, side panels, lower and upper, Letter Transfer Treatment for all Placards, Leather Wrapped Yokes, Pocket in Rear door, repair all cracked plastics and paint to refurbish, Paint seat frames when they are stripped down, paint or touchup the yoke covers, polish existing inner door handles, resize of existing G&D Window inserts, New Mic & Phoone Jacks for rear seats. A few days later I decided on doing the headliner and called [redacted], He said for $2000 he could redo it. I mailed him a $1000 check on June 25th. November 12th [redacted] states in an email that he will need the plane for a week to install. Finally on November 24th I flew the plane up to E45 airport to drop off plane with [redacted]. Upon Dropping off Plane with [redacted] he tried to tack on $500 for the pocket and placard transferring that was included on the original agreement. I asked [redacted] to Order a shim that was missing and lower my front Pilot Seat. [redacted]e now says he needs plane for 2 weeks. He and I agreed on a pickup date, Wednesday December 11th. I made it very clear I needed the plane back because I have other dates booked for it. Long story short the plane wasn't ready for pickup until Monday December 15th around 4pm. It was very rushed and [redacted] Cut a lot of corners. We had to depart very rushed do to incoming weather. It wasn't until I was mid flight I was able to inspect the plane further. The Pilot Side Letter transfer is very blurry, he didn't letter transfer all the other placards that he legally should have. He didn't lower my pilot seat, order the shim or half of the other items we agreed on.Desired Settlement: I contacted [redacted] the Next Morning via email stating all I wish fixed and that I stopped payment on a $5109.56 check, I left with the plane and paid $10,000 cash, $5109.56 check and was holding back $1000 until he fixed a few things that I saw at time of pickup. There ended up being a lot more to fix. I only asked that he come down to fix and do the job I was sold on at the quality he said. Then I would pay the balance in cash.
