Aviles & Gabe's Wrecker Services Reviews (%countItem)

Car was towed to this company yard by APD after a car accident. We have been trying to get the car towed to a salvage yard since last week. Last week we were told that we needed to text them a copy of the car's title, which was done. They were willing to release the car, but after running late from an appointment, we had to reschedule picking up of the car. Called today to make arrangements for the car to be picked up and was told they needed the insurance card for the vehicle. The car is titled in my name and my Nephew's name (who is 20). I reside in New Orleans (which is where the car is registered). The car is his and the only reason my name was on the title is because that was what my insurance company required (USAA which was cheaper than others) When my nephew left New Orleans to move back to Texas, I went to a DMV agent and began the process of removing my name from the title and transferring the car back into his name only (which we did). He only needed to go to a DMV agent in Austin to sign the title and get the car titled into his name only (which had not been done yet; so the title should still be in both of our names). Aviles & Gabes is trying to tell me that the car is title only in my name, which I know is a lie. Last week they texted him and ask for a copy of the title. He texted them a copy of the front and back. Today they claim they can't take a text copy of the title (which is no problem, he has the original, but this is how much they lie to their customers). Secondly, today they say they need a copy of the Insurance card. The car is insured on his Mother's insurance policy. So they now say that his Mother has to call them and she is the only one who can make an appointment to get the car. I asked if she could give him a notarized note to take care of this and they said no. I called (and so did his Mom) and explained to them that his Mother works at a medical facility and with what is going on with this virus, she probably could not take off. I was told oh well that that was her problem and she would have to take care of it. It appears that these people is trying to hold this car hostage in order to make money and run up a bill, which according to the reviews I've read, they have a history of doing. They employees in the office are very rude and blunt. Poor customer service skills. One of the females (I refuse to use the word ladies) hung the phone up on me and when I called back I spoke to Rachel who after a while became inpatient, blunt and rude. This company should not be allowed to be in business and should have their license revoked as the problem we are having trying to get this car from them seems to be an ongoing problem with them. They give you the run around in order to rack up money. I ask to speak to the Owner and was told that they only have a President and the only way to reach him was by writing to the company at their address (which anyone can intercept or respond to). They had me livid after talking with them this morning. So they left us with my Nephew's Mom (my Niece) jeopardizing her job by having to take off to make an appointment, bring them the insurance card in order to be able to get her son's car from them. Please help!!! These people are crooks.

I was in an accident 12/22/19 and Aviles *** was brought on site to tow my car. On 12/26/19 the service company called to try to pick up my car. Aviles *** told them they had no listing of my car. 12/27/2019 I called and was first told they didn't have my car, was placed on hold many time. Finally I was told they found my car. I then called my service place and found out they claimed they had my car for over 30 days. They were charging my insurance stating they had my car since 11/22/2019. When I called them back and ask for that to be corrected I was told I would have to call back because she can't change it and the lady that could was out on medical leave. I asked that they have her call ME back and was told they can't leave her a message. They then told my service company that maybe they will release the car to them for the lower charges starting on 12/22/19 instead of the over 1,000.00 they were trying to charge. Right now I don't know if they will actually release my car and will continue to charge me for extra days if they won't release my car.
The city of Austin should know about this and not let them tow vehicles from accidents!!!!!

This tow truck company changed the price three times. Every time I spoke with *** on the phone she was rude and was changing the prices. First she said $200, then $254, and finally $325. They said I needed an appointment to pickup the vehicle but nobody showed up for the appointment. I had to get the police involved to get *** the owner to show up. I think they were try their best to keep my vehicle. *** the dispatcher is the owners girlfriend from what I’ve read in reviews. And it’s seems like she’s purposely rude to the customers just so they can refuse service and keep the vehicle as long as they can. They are scam artist. The tow yard at *** had no signs posted, nothing showing any prices. Just $325 and it had to be cash.

On May 18, 2019 at approximately 0950, Mr. vehicle was picked after a traffic stop that ended with an arrest for Williamson County Sheriff's Office, it was then towed to our approved tow lot at ***ive. Every yard is inspected and approved by TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation) as part of the yard inspection all rate signs MUST be posted. The signs are posted at the entrance of every gate (see attached pictures). Mr. was advised of the towing rates and referred to the sign prior to entering the property. As part of the signage requirement with TDLR, the forms of payment are included, there are several methods to choose from and Mr. choose to pay cash (his choice). I am attaching a copy of the Williamson County towing rates as well. You will see that the rates were charged accordingly. Let us know if you need anything else. Thanks, ***.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

The prices were not listed at the gate of the tow yard. The price change with every conversation we had. When I showed up the driver took a photo without my permission and demanded I pay the $325 in cash. Reviews online about this tow company shows that this is a tactic that they use on a majority of their customers. This company is fabricating and lying to cover its tracks. They refused to show up to the appointment and I had to get the police involved every step of the way. I also have video footage of *** locking me into the tow yard, which was a criminal offense.

Regards

The owner will not release the vehicle because I was two minutes early proceeded to cuss at me and spit on me and told me that I need to leave his property he left and said they’re send another tow truck to get it because I was there early and I was disrespectful because I knocked on his window a little too hard

Beware of this scammers !!! This towing Company does everything in their power to prevent Lien Holders to recover vehicles on time to keep charging fees for storage.

We have had several instances where we call to get fees to remove autos from their lot and different amounts are given so when our drivers show up the total amount is completely different and varies if you talk to different reps. They also don't send 1st notice only second or final (if we are lucky), so we only get notification of storage when the autos have accumulated higher fees.

The Manager Rachel is extremely rude and unprofessional. Other reps are ignorant of company policies so when our drivers show up all the information given is either wrong or is incomplete, that way the send them back and charge for another day.

Aviles and Gabes are stealing money from companies and customers without any repercussion.

My son was involved in an accident, and Austin PD called these folks to tow his (my) car to their impound, hilariously titled "OMG Storage." Visibly shaken and distraught from his rollover accident, my 19-year-old son simply wanted to retrieve his cell phone and backpack from the car so that he could continue to class. The woman at the desk was rude, profane, and extremely unprofessional, and even threatened to call the police on HIM for getting what belongings he needed to survive. Then, when I called to straighten things out, she screamed at me on the phone, as well. The amount of money they charged is borderline criminal, but nothing is so offensive as the shameful treatment of an innocent customer by this insensitive, ghetto-mannered screech-owl. Moreover, she refused to tell me who the President of the company was so that I could speak to him or her about the systematic disrespect being shown to helpless folks who had no choice but to do business with them. I am in business myself, so I do not leave such a review merely in the heat of emotion, but with integrity and firmness. These people are sorry, this business is sorry, and if the right attorney turns over the right rock, I suspect he will find significant illegalities in their method of business transaction.

worst customer service
worst treatment of my vehicle
worst buisness and towing experence I have everhad in my life

The customer service with the office staff was unprofessional and combatitive. They towed my car through AAA, so I didn't have a choice of tow company, but in the future would not recommend using them.
