We deeply regret the inconvenience experienced by this customer, who we like very muchI did go to her home to inspect the hutchI can't be certain what the condition of the hutch was prior to moving, but I did note (one) small wooden wheel that had split open during the moving process, and there were several small pieces of wood, similar to a wood dowel, but rectangular rather than round, that were needed in order to place the shelves back properly in the hutchThese pieces were not broken, just not presentI have a good man who is capable of repairing the wheel and securing the wood pieces necessary to re-set the small shelves in placeWe are happy to do soMy associate will be happy to look at the hutch to attempt to rectify any other issues that may have been caused by handling during the moveHe had surgery only last week, so one more week may be required before he is recovered sufficient to examine and repair, but if Mrs [redacted] is willing, we can agree to have him meet her at her home

We will accept this response if this company contacts us within the next two weeks, has a person here at our home within the next month to restore the hutch, and has the hutch pieces:  strips to hold shelves replaced to match the hutch color.  In addition, the flour bin needs repaired and the leg of the right front needs to be replaced.  As to not knowing what condition the hutch was in before moving, the movers know that this hutch did not have these pieces missing nor the leg did not need TAPED to use.  As it stands presently, it is not useable.

Rented car from Avis for weekend. Picked up Friday 6/29/12 17:30 hours. Returned car Sunday 7/1/12 16:00 hours, the office was closed for the day. I wrote the time of return on the paper envelope with keys as instructed by the associate in office when vehicle was picked up. I then noticed a higher than agreed upon charge to my credit card a couple days later. Upon asking Avis why the rate was higher than expected I received this info via email:7/18/12 RE: Rental #[redacted]Case #[redacted] Dear Mr. *, Thank you for taking the time to contact Avis with your rate calculationinquiry. Upon review of the rental agreement in question, our records show the vehicle was checked out on June 29, at 5:27 PM and returned on July 2, at 10:45 AM. Avis begins calculating rental fees at the time the car is rented, and rates are based on a 24-hour day. However, at our locations in the U.S. and Canada, customers are allowed a grace period of 29 minutes before additional time and mileage charges are applied. After 30 minutes, a charge of three-quarters of the daily rate plus $0.01 is applied. At 90 minutes, a full day is charged. Please note that this fee applies only to the time-and-mileage charges. No grace period applies for the optional coverages. So, for example, if you selected optional coverages at the time of rental, and if you exceedthe 24-hour period, coverages will be charged at the full-day price. After carefully reviewing our records, we find that your rental charges were calculated correctly. We regret any miscommunication or inconvenience, and we hope the explanation above adequately clarifies our rate calculation policy. At Avis, we really do try harder to deliver a safe, dependable, hassle-free rental, and we look forward to providing you with a pleasantexperience in the near future.
