In response to the customer's complaint:The client has made numerous misstatements and allegationsHere are the facts:On 8/10, the client contacted me by phone at which time she was given pricing for having VHS tapes transferred to DVDShe indicated that she
needed the work to be completed before her trip out of town on 8/I indicated that I could meet the deadlineThe next day, she brought VHS tapes into my shop to be transferredShe wanted certain tapes grouped together and wanted duplicate DVDs of certain onesI filled out a work order with her information on it and explained that I would have to review the content to determine the running times of the tapes (the “research” she mentioned) prior to calling her with the estimateI wrote on the work order that that “A $per tape logging fee will apply if any or all of job is canceled.” She signed the work order and I gave her the yellow copy of itOn 8/11, I gave her the estimate of $(Not “nearly $150” as she indicated)She seemed shocked at the price, even though I'd given her my rates the day beforeOne of the tapes she had brought in was &1/hours in length which would require two DVDs to contain it all and thus increasing the cost of the job. Another of the tapes was nearly blank except for about seconds of TV broadcastWhen I explained this to her, she acted as though she already knew the tape was blankYet another tape-- which she had insisted had only about minutes of content, in actuality had 1hr. & minutes of content on itShe elected to modify the order and have just the first two tapes (not “just one” as she indicated) transferred to 1-DVDI wrote the revised estimate of $on the Work Order and had her initial the estimateI completed the job and called her to let her know it was ready to be picked upShe indicated that she had a coupon (of mine) and that she wanted a free duplicate DVDI explained the the job was already done and the coupon would have had to be submitted at the time that theorder was placedWording on my coupons state “New jobs only” which means that it didn't apply to her job because her job was already done and was a completed job, not a “New Job”The $8(“undisclosed charges”) she refers to is clearly disclosed (as “Additional Media Transferred”) on the invoice she received and represents the cost of adding the content from a second video tape to a DVDThe job was delivered a day earlier than promised for less than the agreed upon price.Myposition is that due to the lack of substantiation by the client that I refuse any refund.Sincerely,*** ***Avitar Video Productions

In response to the customer's complaint:The client has made numerous misstatements and allegations. Here are the facts:On 8/10, the client contacted me by phone at which time she was given pricing for having VHS tapes transferred to DVD. She indicated that she...

needed the work to be completed before her trip out of town on 8/14. I indicated that I could meet the deadline. The next day, she brought 6 VHS tapes into my shop to be transferred. She wanted certain tapes grouped together and wanted duplicate DVDs of certain ones. I filled out a work order with her information on it and explained that I would have to review the content to determine the running times of the tapes (the “research” she mentioned) prior to calling her with the estimate. I wrote on the work order that that “A $5 per tape logging fee will apply if any or all of job is canceled.” She signed the work order and I gave her the yellow copy of it. On 8/11, I gave her the estimate of $136.14. (Not “nearly $150” as she indicated). She seemed shocked at the price, even though I'd given her my rates the day before. One of the tapes she had brought in was 2 &1/2 hours in length which would require two DVDs to contain it all and thus increasing the cost of the job. Another of the tapes was nearly blank except for about 30 seconds of TV broadcast. When I explained this to her, she acted as though she already knew the tape was blank. Yet another tape-- which she had insisted had only about 20 minutes of content, in actuality had 1hr. & 25 minutes of content on it. She elected to modify the order and have just the first two tapes (not “just one” as she indicated) transferred to 1-DVD. I wrote the revised estimate of $50.28 on the Work Order and had her initial the estimate. I completed the job and called her to let her know it was ready to be picked up. She indicated that she had a coupon (of mine) and that she wanted a free duplicate DVD. I explained the the job was already done and the coupon would have had to be submitted at the time that theorder was placed. Wording on my coupons state “New jobs only” which means that it didn't apply to her job because her job was already done and was a completed job, not a “New Job”. The $8(“undisclosed charges”) she refers to is clearly disclosed (as “Additional Media Transferred”) on the invoice she received and represents the cost of adding the content from a second video tape to a DVD. The job was delivered a day earlier than promised for less than the agreed upon price.Myposition is that due to the lack of substantiation by the client that I refuse any refund.Sincerely,[redacted]Avitar Video Productions
