I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is as satisfactory as I believe the outcome will beThe company however in no way admitted fault or the fact that they ignored every correspondence I sent, I hope that my lengthy last message is shown on your site for others to view, as the company truly has shown absolute negligence toward us and their jobNot only will I not hire them again I will go out of my way to tell others in my area not to hire them

I never once asked for
more seed, but to those points, we weren't contacted to say the company was
going to do those "repairs."  The first seeding they did was
days before we went on vacation. (company left no note, not sure if we were
even aware this seeding occurred) We received one response of an email around
this time stating grass was growing fine to pay or they would not seed again.
I replied again that seed was not my concern that it was of the yard
being unlevel, with no response sent by company following. The second seeding
was during probably the hottest week of the year (we noticed the yard was
seeded because of the pile of seed left on our driveway, again no note or
notification of work) so neither seeding was watered when it was done.
There isn't the
slightest chance that there is any of the topsoil/sweet peat/lime/fertilizer originally put down (if even put down) is left
in our yard with the storm that hit.  Again, I told them after the job that I
pulled 3 boulders the size of basketballs out of the top of the yard that were
covered in no soil.  There was no fertilizer as stated there would be and
I doubt lime, but I don't know what that looks like to tell.  Grass seed
will eventually grow in the crack of a sidewalk if it’s watered enough, again I
wasn’t happy with how the grass had been growing, but not my main concern. The clay we have does not hold water to keep seed moist and harbor growth for long.
What my neighbors are
happy with is none of my concern.  She has posted to facebook saying she's
running some landscaping business of her own, so who's to tell what they did to
their lawn or are happy with.  The idea
of our neighbor and I going in together was that our lawns would look similar,
be level in between and look better.  I repaired the severed cable line
the crew hit with, I assume, a rototiller.  I raked out the front yard of
straw, seeded and fertilized added peat moss.  The difference in the back
yard is that I didn't take the time to rake it out like I did the front.
I'm certain spring jobs
in northeast Ohio get rained out every year. I contacted the business very
frequently stating my concerns and was never once contacted by the owner to
resolve.  Before they even came to do the job they kept putting off and
putting off, we were told multiple times it would be one day and then that day
changed without notice.  Finally they came, the day before a large storm
to do the work.  I am not responsible for when they showed up, had they
come when they stated they would, April as stated in the contract, maybe it
would have had more time to establish before the storm washed away everything.
Our yard was easily returned to pre-work condition by the storm,
"half a day" of work as [redacted] states was done is not going to come
close to getting a good job.  The cost of topsoil not being used when the
job was “redone” prevents grass from growing as well from seed, from retaining
moisture for the seed/grass forever.  I have trenches along the side of my
yard that I've been working to fill/level.  The yard itself (both front and back) is very bumpy.
I've filled holes from boulders removed.
Also, attached now are
photos of the back yard specifically what it looked like after the storm and
where the low spots in the yard are now, by a picture taken during a summer storm.  Also is a photo of the neighbor’s yard, there
had been a trench on the other end of their yard, but I know at one point Avon
Landsaping did come out and put soil in it and I don’t know the current state
if it’s still there or not.  Our yard is
significantly low on the edge, around to the back there was a deep trench along
the back of our property and through the middle.
The company was notified
time and again I was withholding payment until the job was complete.  It's
now 6 months later and I did not receive a response from them in regards to it.
I've put in work myself now to begin to repair and it's too late in the
season for them to do any work.  Again, my request is the same as
previous.  It has been too long and
it is now too late in the season for them to fix our yard. They have ignored
all of our phone calls/messages from May to current. I want them to acknowledge
that they did a poor job and should have done more to contact us to have a
conversation and stop sending us bills for the other half of our contract and
stop adding on late fees. No employees, contractors, or representatives of Avon
Landscaping Inc. are permitted on my property, nor are they permitted to engage
in any additional work on my property or make contact after this is settled.
Costs incurred so far that I should not have to fix work done by company: Top soil, grass
seed, peat moss, coax cable and associated pieces, missed work because I had to
sit at home and wait to see that the company finally showed up to work, leaving
early from work to make sure they stayed a whole day to work.
