Avondale Nissan Reviews (27)

Review: I bought a brand new or what I thought to be brand new nissan frontier from Avondale nissan on November 1 2013. After the purchase I noticed a few weeks later that the half the front bumper was mettalic black and the other half was just plain black. I brought truck back to dealer with concerns that the vehicle had been wrecked. They assured me that the vehicle was not wrecked but that when the vehicle came from the factory there must have been mettalic paint left over that got on there. Truck is not supposed to have mettalic. They re painted front bumper for me. While it was in for the front bumper they also had to put a new door panel on because it would not fit properly. About a month later I noticed that cold air was coming into the cab from the windshield. I brought it into the dealer and they had to pull the windshield and re seal it. About a month after that I noticed that on the inside of the door there is primer showing throughout because it is not painted all the way. I just noticed also that my windshield still is not sealed properly as it makes noise going down freeway. I contacted avondale with concerns that the vehicle was wrecked just from the nature of all the repairs. They denied it. I explained to them it was not fair for me to pay full price for a news vehicle that needed this much work done to it. [redacted] the general sales manager said he and the general manager were gonna work on a resolution for me but I needed to call nissan USA to open a claim. Upon doing that frank stopped answering my calls and would not return my messages. When I finally got ahold of him by calling from a different phone number he pawned me off on the service manager. The service manager basically said it out of there hands now and that nissan USA will deal with it. So frank lied about he and gm taking care of it. After a couple weeks wait and countless phone calls with nissan USA they said they would not replace the vehicle or buy it back. I called frank to display my disappointment and to let him no that I would be at his business on the weekends to protest this. He called me back cussing at me calling me a f ing punk and that he was done dealing with me. I believe I paid full price for a wrecked vehicle. Avondale does not want to except responsibility for this. I would like to be put in a brand new vehicle free of all these problems or I want my loan paid down to the trade in value that I can get out of this defective vehicle and into another.Desired Settlement: To be put in new vehicle or loan paid down to trade in value so I can get another vehicle.

Response:

To whom it may concern,

After speaking with the consumer and reviewing his concerns

and the complete case file, we believe the customer had a valid concern and we have

resolved the issue to his complete satisfaction.

This was clearly a manufacture issue that was covered by warranty but opened the

door to some interpretation regarding the diminishing value of the client’s

vehicle. After attempting to have the manufacture warranty/reimburse for the perceived

lost value or buy the vehicle back in a collateral exchange, we were unfortunately

unable to accomplish either scenario. After

personally speaking with the customer (and Nissan) and certainly empathizing

with his situation, Avondale Nissan agreed to pay a fair market cash value to

reduce the consumers future exposure to loss or buy the car back for the entire payoff. The consumer chose to

keep the vehicle and take the cash amount to help with any and all future diminished

value. The customers warranty is still valid and this has zero effect on any

future warranty claims.

At this point we consider this to be closed, and we

appreciate the opportunity to resolve the issue.

Review: I went into Avondale Nissan on a Sat to have them look at my front right tire. I noticed it had been leaking air for the past few weeks. They looked at it, took me back to the shop and showed me where the hole was. It wasn't repairable, so they had to order the tire. $245. I made an appointment for Wed. I was told I would take less than an hour. When it was almost at 2 hours I walked over to the glass and saw they had the front left tire off. When I confronted the service advisor, he tried to help. The service tech was a complete jerk, would not listen to me. I went to the service manager and he wouldn't listen to me either. I asked them to pull the paperwork from Saturday, they would not. I didn't get any apology, nothing fixed. I took it to discount tire after, to get my front right tire fixed and to have them check the left front. There was nothing wrong with the left (the one he dealership was trying to change), but they did replace the right front tire for $150.

This isn't the first time they have messed something up with my vehicle. When I brought the first incident to them, they said, well we hire people right out of trade school. And told me it wasn't their fault.Desired Settlement: I will not ever do business with this company again. Horrible experience several times!

Response:

I am disappointed to hear of Ms. [redacted]’s experience. I have left multiple voicemails and an email to discuss her complaint, but have yet to receive a returned call or email. At this point, we will await a response and hope to have another opportunity at creating a favorable outcome. Sincerely, Tony V[redacted] Service Manager

Review: I went to buy a new car. I provided my car as a trade in. Was offered around 2000 dollars trade in value. I was assured I would be approved of the monthly payment of $429 they took my car as the trade in allowed me to take the new car off the lot. Without signing ownership papers. I was contacted 1 week later stating to come in to finish paper work was told I was approved for financing for the amount desired. When I came in to sign documents I was then told I was not approved for the amount but I was approved for something a lot higher. at that point I stated I would not accept the offer & they offered me another vehicle stating would accept my trade in now at 4000 instead of the 2000. I declined and asked for my car back. Up one the delivery of my car I have found that it was not in the condition I left it. My windshield had and original fair crack. I received almost with a spider web like pattern. They did not care and continued to say it showed with a crack & did not care that it was made worse.Desired Settlement: Repair of my windshield.

Review: After purchasing our vehicle from Avondale Nissan, we brought it in for previously agreed upon leather repairs and paint touch up. Upon receiving the vehicle, but before accepting it, we noticed a fresh cut in the leather of a back seat that was not previously there. The Avondale service manager agreed it was caused by an employee, and agreed to have it repaired. An appointment was scheduled with the leather repair person. The following month our vehicle was dropped off for repair. Three days later it was ready for pickup. The cut was filled and a "matching" dye was used to help blend the cut. [redacted], the service manager and the leather repair person told us if the cut ever showed again they would fix or replace the leather free of charge, that they stand behind their work.

Within one month the cut was visible, we phoned Avondale Nissan, and after half a dozen calls and 4 months of attempting to get them to respond, we were able to get an appointment. The leather specialist said he would need to find another piece of matching leather to replace the area, because the cut would resurface again if he was to fill it again. After 5 months, and a dozen more phone calls, multiple conversations with [redacted] the service manager, and two service employees, we were told the Sales Dept Manager [redacted] would be taking care of the leather p[redacted]lem and would have it repaired. Now it's been 3 more months, I've left multiple messages for [redacted], spoken with him once, and also reached out to the Service Manager again for assistance, and no one will return my calls.

I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this issue; it has now been well over a year and it has not been addressed or resolved properly. I have no other choice but to request a formal complaint be processed, before a next step of recourse is take .Desired Settlement: To have the dealership stand behind its word and replace the leather, as well as give some reasonable compensation for the amount of time, well over a year, spent attempting to resolve the issue.

Response:

To whom it may concern, We have read the complaint and are currently working with the consumer to resolve the issue. I personally spoke with the consumer and have made arraignments for them to bring the vehicle in for a fresh inspecting and we will advise at that point. Because the issue involves the repair of leather on a pre-owned vehicle sold over 16 months ago, the process may be delayed as we work through the eventual and equitable solution. As always we appreciate the Revdex.com and the proactive help in servicing our customers. [redacted]General Manager Avondale Nissan

Review: My parents got a recall notice for their 2013 Nissan Altima(hood latch). I took my mother here because it is close to my house where they keep their car garaged while they work(truck drivers). She decided to have the oil change while it was going in anyway. Couple hours later they call and it's done. We picked up the car and drove straight home(about 3 miles away). I put the car in the garage and closed the door for the evening. Next morning I noticed oil was coming out from the garage. It was coming from under the car. I had just enough time to get to work. My mom called [redacted] he was our service advisor. He was very apologetic and scheduled to have a mechanic come out after I got off work. Two men came from the dealership added oil to the car wiped up what they could and took the car back for repairs. They called me and said they replaced the drain plug not sure if that was really the p[redacted]lem or if it just wasn't tightened but they also [redacted] underneath to clean the mess. [redacted] then told me that they subcontract cleaners and that they would contact me to come clean up the oil mess. [redacted] was the lady that called me (no company name). She told me they would do the best they could but could not guarantee a perfect job. They did not come out till after the weekend on Monday one of her employees came named [redacted]. he tried a carpet scrubber with degreaser but that didn't do much. He told me he didn't know what to do and used some of my brake cleaner on the shelf and hosed the spot down. That did not do much he then left. I called and asked for a supervisor and got a gentleman named [redacted]. I told him they did not do a very good job cleaning and he advised me they pay them good money to clean up these messes and that he would have them come out again. A week passed so I called [redacted] again. He apologized and told me he thought she had already called me. He also told me that his boss rents out houses and they don't charge people for oil stains left in the driveway. Today two or three weeks after the original spill [redacted] came with [redacted] this time. They attempted to same cleaning procedure the carpet scrubber and degreaser I'm no professional cleaner but I would think a high powered pressure washer with hot water might help. There is now a big oil stain in the driveway and it doesn't seem like they want to do anything about it.

They made a mistake and oil was spilled in my driveway I think they need to be responsible and hire a professional cleaning crew that have the proper tools and knowledge to get this done.Desired Settlement: I would like the oil stain removed so my deposit will not be held back.

Response:

We hired another company [redacted] to steam clean and pressure wash remove the garage stain from [redacted] home. Our service director, [redacted] received a phone call from [redacted] this morning; June 18th to let us know he was satified with the job the new company had done. [redacted] also mentioned he will update his response with Revdex.com as the issue has been resolved.[redacted]Controller[redacted]

I had an interesting run in with the service department at Avondale Nissan. I took my 2000 Nissan Frontier in for an inspection after purchasing it from a different dealer. My thought was that the dealership would be able to tell me if there was anything wrong, or if anything should be fixed right away.
I scheduled the appointment but when I got there there was no appointment in their system so after waiting for 15 minutes I asked if they would be able to get it in that day. I was referred to [redacted] and he informed me that they would do the inspection and he would call me when it was ready.
When I spoke to [redacted] a few hours later he informed me that there were so many things wrong with the truck that it was unsafe to drive. and that if I wanted them to fix it it would cost over $5200.00.
I thought this was interesting because if it was unsafe to drive the dealership I bought it from could probably be in a lot of trouble for selling something so unsafe.
When I picked the truck up I was told again that I should drive the truck home and park it that it was unsafe. but after leaving the service department I went through the paperwork that I was given. looking at the check sheet they had given me, none of the areas that [redacted] said needed immediate work were marked as being bad. there was a warning that in the future things might need changed.
after taking the truck for a second opinion it turns out that the second shop would recommend new hoses. a fix that is less than $200. Other fixes, the ones mentioned by [redacted], could be done but were not "required" or "needed immediately" as previously indicated.
Were they honest on the paperwork. I think they were. then again I think they have to be or they could get sued. But the moral direction of the Avondale Nissan compass is in question. Was [redacted] honest? NO. Do I believe this is more than one employee being shady? YES. I believe this is standard operating procedure for this business. Buyer be warned.

Review: traded in my Nissan Versa needed a larger vehicle to use for my charity [redacted], I build small mobile shelters for the homeless. about 3 months after purchase of the 2012 ford escape I began hearing a noise, called Nissan service they said not our problem take it to ford. after a few visits to ford they finally took a closer look and discovered the strut and casings were bad and had been previously replaced with after market parts rendering my manufacturers warranty as well as extended warranty no good. The problem, I purchased this vehicle for fair market value believing it had not been wrecked, and had all its original parts and was covered under warranty. so I was seriously over charged have paid on it a year and its broken. [redacted] my salesman assured me he would make it right get me into another vehicle I had asked about the roll over he said not to worry they would take care of everything. a few days later he informed me that wasn't possible unless I wanted a larger car payment, which meant the huge roll over would be my responsibility. he then offered to repair the vehicle, I asked what about my warranty? he said again not to worry. what about the huge inflated price I paid for the vehicle I believed to be as my contract states new or near new? he said don't worry we will figure it out. which to me is a brush off. my charity is at a stand still without a vehicle to drive safely to collect supplies or deliver [redacted] I NEED HELP to know what I should do!!!Desired Settlement: if my vehicle can be repaired, my warranty reinstated in writing and a partial refund of the over inflated price I paid for new or near new vehicle that would be satisfactory. if not then a replacement vehicle equal to the cost of this one. financed 21648.91 less the cost of my previous rollover of 3800.00 a dif of 17848.91, I have already paid over 3000. on term.
